Signed up for a 6 month cleaning contract. The cleaners came late and did not clean anything. They did not have any supplies and left 3hours early. Tried to get in contact with customer service emailed 7times to have someone call me. No one ever called had to reach out to customer service via Facebook just to get a response. I ended up cancelling my service with them and getting a refund. Do not use them. They have bad customer service and the people they hire to do the work are not professionals!
I came to Handy for cleaning because they handled a missed appointment for a furniture building extremely well. I signed up for cleaning services. If you agree to a longer period of time the price comes down. I chose 6 months for $125. After my second visit, I was charged $146.17. I reached out to ask why and they said it was because I had a credit on my account - fine, but I'm not paying $146 for someone to spend 2 hours cleaning my house. The customer service people told me that I was actually paying by the hour - NOT explained in the app when I signed up. So basically I paid for 8 hours of cleaning but only 4 took place. I asked for a refund of the hours not worked and was told they have a minimum of 3 hours. Customer Service suggested I select some "add on" services to round out the time. Fine, but I want a refund for those 2 hours and I want my future bookings to be made for 3 hours. I would have been perfectly happy with this solution but that's not what happened. After interacting with 5 different customer service people who did not take the time to read through the previous correspondence (except Alexa who solved the problem but her work was undone by incompetent co-workers) my time was extended to 4.5 hours and no refund was issued - this made the problem worse. I asked them to fix it and was told that I should talk to the pro after they finish the 2-hour cleaning about add ons, no refund issued and it seems pretty shady to me to have this whole system of booking add ons but wanting me to spring it on the pro after they have arrived. I don't like being misled and I don't like shady business practices. They finally refunded my money but won't let me cancel without the cancellation fee - which I should have to pay because they have wasted so much of my time - AND was told that since my booking was in the future they couldn't change it so for the rest of my bookings I will have to reach out to them to adjust the price. Are you kidding me? Don't use Handy!
They charge hidden fees and there is absolutely no competent person to communicate with at the company. All correspondence via email. You can not talk to anyone at any time. Will report to BBB and Attorney General. Stay away!
I reluctantly book a one time apartment cleaning appointment with "Handy" to assess if I would want to use them on a regular basis. I will NOT!
They charge an enormous $99 cancellation fee. If a customer changes their mind for amazon subscribe and save program they don't penalize the customer. This HANDY service is disgusting and will be reported in every social media platform and attorney general letter and BBB
I SO FREAKING Tired of complaining to the faceless "customer service" people at HANDY who never actually help me. I am about to call the ATTORNEY GENERAL for this ridiculous scam. ONCE AGAIN I have an issue. The cleaner is not here. I clicked the "call" button IN THEIR OWN APP and it was the WRONG NUMBER. I woke some poor guy up saying "you are supposed to have been here cleaning 10 minutes ago" and he had no idea what I was talking about. I rearrange my ENTIRE WEEK and WEEKEND to make time for the idiots that I am PAYING $30 and HOUR for what?!?! Where is the SERVICE? I am starting to HATE HANDY AND ALL OF SOCIAL MEDIA IS GOING TO HEAR ABOUT THIS. NO I DON'T WANT TO RESCHEDULE. I WANT MY HOUSE CLEANED NOW AND FINISHED BY 1; 00 PM AS PLANNED BECAUSE I HAVE TO LEAVE AT THAT TIME. Figure it out guys!
Handy for cleaning services is a huge SCAM. They will make you signup for a plan with a set rate and then switch the rate on you without notifying. $56/hr to clean a 980sqft apart at 4.5hrs they say. There's no way and that's way above industry standard.
I tried to keep my service if they discounted as promised to a $38/hr rate, but they would not.
Complete run around and switch and bait tactics. When asked why my cleanings were all priced different, they said it would change once its booked with someone... so again, the price changes without notice. COMPLETE SCAM and they still want to charge me $99 to cancel! I would never continue with them because who knows what the price will be next!
Each pro has been superb. I have made over 30 bookings for cleaning, knobs, furniture. I think I have used every category. I get confused with the app and have received great support from *******@handy.com. I have recommended that the fake negative or unfair negative reviews be reported to reputation.com. Site like this and yelp can only be helpful to us the customers if the app or business has a means to remove inappropriate comments. Handy and other apps like Uber increase my safety and help insure and screen pros. Thank you Handy!
My mom asked a "Handy" rep to come give an estimate. They conned an older lady into giving her card number. AS OF MAY, THEY HAVE MADE NO VISITED TO HER HOUSE AND HAVE CHARGED HER TWICE! She was charged yesterday, June 18 2019, for a visit. They're cleaner never came. We wrote them an Email. They said their person came but no one answered the door. This is completely untrue. I have been working on her front porch all day. NO ONE CAME BY! HANDY IS A SCAM THAT PRAYS ON OLDER LADYS! DONT USE THEM!
Used with with waifair. The man came 30 minutes earlier than the start time I was pre assigned a time. The man came into my building and sat for an hour. They wanted to mail a check, but i said no it had to come through waifair. Waifair took care of it, so I dont need to stop using them. Handi just makess up the time they come. They do not schedule and their app does not work for ios. Thought I would try it, but since they do everything electronically not possible. Will not be using handi again. Stick with people I know. Just creepy comeing 30 minutes early and bothering apartment staff.
I called asking for a one time basic house clean. They sent a "deep clean" person. She never touched the toilets, left the floors un mopped, did not vacuum, did not wipe down the kitchen counters or sink. Instead she cleaned my oven for two hours and arranged my fridge? When I reached out to handy with photos and an explanation of their mess up, they gave me a cheap $20 credit on my account! As if I will ever call them again to touch my home? They lie about the Customer Satisfaction policy. They do not care all they evidently wanted was my credit card and not doing what they agreed to do for the bill. BEWARE before you buy!
It's been three months now with dozens upon dozens of emails, most left unanswered without reply. I have been wrangling with these people for all that time and still no way to call them. You might think that any responsible company would have management look into the issue and resolve it immediately. It could all be resolved with a simple phone call. That phone call remains unmade and I remain unpaid.
The company is totally apathetic. And now they're doing a growth spurt where they're looking for all kinds of new staff to oversee one department after another in management positions. They can't put One foot in front of another so how they're doing this is beyond me. Nobody cares about anybody else at Handy. They treat their vendors and employees like dirt. We need to see this company go away.
I enrolled for a move out cleaning after seeing add of these guys in google. The person who was supposed to show up did not come after they kept me waiting for an hour. I have complained it multiple times and finally, they rescheduled it after two hrs and they disappointed me in that effort too. I ended up paying a lot more money on finding help the same day since the next day was my move out day. I have decided to never once go with their service and emailed the same to them to which they apologized and refunded my money. I don't live in that apartment anymore and now they scheduled a recurring cleaning service without me actually asking for one and when I tried to explain to them that it's not fair to charge me because I don't live there anymore and I have never requested for service after going through one horrible experience with them already. Now they are charging me 100$ for the service I never took in the name of the cancellation policy. They don't have a customer service number, they don't have a proper application, they don't provide good service. They are just too horrible. I took the pain to write this review here because I don't want someone else to go through the same $#*!.
STAY AWAYYYYYY... My maid never showed up. I was scheduled for 11am. Maid rescheduled to 2pm then 4 PM then 5pm and then finally never showed up. She said the company didnt tell her and she had other plans. She was rude and the company was not responding either.
In 3 1/4 hrs. She did a fantastic job on the stove, microwave and refrigerator. She never did the counters in the kitchen and the sink still had soap in it This is part of kitchen cleaning that i asked for. The 2.5 bathrooms were OK. But she never did the counter top in 1 of the bathrooms, the shower faucets in that bathroom were never cleaned nor was the top of the shower. It is still dusty. I would never recommend her and probably not the company.
I have NEVER written a bad review, but could not refrain. This is as unprofessional as it gets. Beware of an agency offering personal service in your home that does not have a customer service #. I had my 1st cleaning appt scheduled for yesterday at 11am. I never heard from them about who was coming. I didn't want someone showing up at my door without prior notification by Handy telling me about them. I got a text at 10:00am cancelling! One hour before, YET, they penalize their clientele if we don't give them at least a day's notice. I called my credit card company immediately to be sure I would be credited.
I also ordered them through Wayfair because the reviews on the buffet I wanted recommended a professional to put it together. First of all the handy man showed up 1.5 hours late. Said he was held up at another appointment. His electric screwdriver wasn't working so we had to give him ours. About an hour into putting our buffet together he started complaining that it was getting late! Um yeah because you got here late. I was starting to eat dinner in the other room with my husband after putting my daughter down for bed. Right as I was taking my first bite he asked if I could call wayfair to ask if they could pay him more money to finish the job! I paid a flat fee of $100 to get this professionally' installed. Apparently he said this is not enough to support his family. He was so skinny my husband kept telling me to offer him some food. He was probably six feet tall and ninety five pounds. It was a bit unsettling. He left the job with the doors put together uneven and said he didn't want to stay any longer to make them look straight.
Dont do it, you email them, they dont respond and when they do, its one time and the problem still not solved.
The cleaning people dont come when they should, I tried to cancel my program, Due to bad service, and they want to charge me $99.
I had two cleaning people that did a good job out of 6 people.
When email my problem, all they have to say is if i cancel its $99.
And one time they did credit me money back.

Twice no shows and now they have left me hanging after third confirmation was made only to find out they are still working on someone showing up until 2 hours before appointment. Bad service. Avoid the frustration and do not use them. Bad choice of partners Wayfair.
I was scheduled for my 1st cleaning that never showed and given a 10 dollar credit and rescheduled with someone else. That person then rescheduled. I decided that this service did not with me. I told them I wanted to cancel due to fact I've never recieved service. They told me that that would be 99 dollars. This company is a scam.
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
