LYING, THIEVING COMPANY... DO NOT USE THEM YOU WILL BE SORRY.
Seriously, be aware of the deceiving, lying and plain refusal to do anything on the hobby king end, they will keep you waiting and waiting and when you ask difficult questions they just disconnect chat
There are a lot of poor reviews about HobbyKing, but I have to say, I had a very good experience with them recently. I purchased a high capacity LiPo (20,000mAh) battery, then a couple of months after purchasing was ready to use it. It was manufactured incorrectly with battery polarity reversed! I took a couple of photo's as requested, including one showing voltmeter attached. The RMA request was promptly approved and a replacement battery is on the way.
Obviously this was clear manufacturing problem, but I found the process efficient and not at all what I expected given the negative reviews. Maybe they are trying harder..
LYING, THIEVING COMPANY... DO NOT USE THEM YOU WILL BE SORRY. MISSING PARTS, PROMISES OF REFUNDS THAT NEVER HAPPEN. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A JOKE AND FORGET ABOUT EVER TALKING TO A LIVE PERSON
I ordered an RC plane, along with some parts and a radio. Package arrived within a few days. Ok that was good, but when I opened the box, the plane they sent was a smaller version. Item was sent back and now in their possession for 8 days now. Still waiting for a refund or the correct model. Also they would deduct 20% if I opened the box of the model. I should have purchased on eBay.
I received all support I needed and my problem have been solved in a very short time. This is one of the reasons why I can recommend Hobby King as a great and serious company. Thanks.
I had 3 (three) deals with them.
1. Some spare parts and materials, one of them being on back order and claimed to be available within 5-25 days. After a month I observed the missing item available, but my order not shipped yet. After raising a claim to the Support they tried to pretend that the item is not available, but after receiving the link from their own web site and after several more days of communication the item was shipped.
2, Quanum Nova quadrocopter (RTF) with some spare parts was bought from them. Not serviceable from unboxing. A long and useless communication with the support resulted in nothing. After several months of reading of specialized web sites and after communication with other happy owners of this scrap I managed to spend more 30 USD on Ali Express for spare parts and to make the copter flyable. The reason of initial failure was faulty motherboard of "ready to fly from the box" quadrocopter. No valuable help was received from long communication with Hobby King Support Team. The offer to send back the copter and to get a refund was just one more scum attempt. You will waste your money for two-way shipping, then you wilol get a partial refund of your money wasted for buying and for shipping - and then they will sell the same lot to another dumb.
3. Currently I have an order which was paid on the 12-th of May with all items marked as available. Now, on the 15-th of July, I am still reading fairy tails of Hobby King Support about some servos from order being on backorder (which is a 100% lie) and about 30-days period of restocking the store (which is again a 100% lie because already more than 60 days passed since payment was made for the item that was alreasy available in stock and is not shipped yet).
I ordered a pair of FatShark FPV goggles from HobbyKing and after a week it was "still processing". I contacted Customer Service and they replied within a day with an explanation and more information.
They were respectful and polite, I would 100% shop there again.
The hobby king Saga continues.
Placed an order, was 1st delayed by Easter holidays, then delayed by warehouse move and then got lost and found, shipping was supposed to take place on the 19th, the shipping label was created and FedEx was informed but since then all i get is we need to get a dangerous goods certificate for this order or we have send the shipment to FedEx or any of ******* other excuses.
When i quoted them the Chinese consumer protection law the chat help (Rowena) went silent and stopped answering me.

Think Anthony Hand, Karen Wu or any of their cronies gives a damn about customer service and providing proper and timely shipping and services. You do and i know of a cheap barely used bridge i can sell ya cheap.
Posting this to Hobby kings Facebook leads to immediate removal, posting it to other hobby king owned/controlled websites leads to immediate removal
The Chinese law also states that there must be contact info anyone seen a phone number for the global warehouse? Ever?
Turnigy Evolution Digital AFHDS Radio Control System W/TGY-IA6C Receiver (Black) (Mode 2)
Arrived dead from Netherlands, will not turn on at all!
Their answer:
"Our EU warehouse does not expect returns.
Please be advised we do not cover shipping fees."
So now I have to pay for shipping to another continent because they sent me a broken peace of garbage.
Never again!
UPDATE. Since I started a dispute with PayPal HobbyKing offered to send me a replacement at no charge to me, but "only if I close PayPal dispute" so I did (what a fool I was!). As soon as I did so, my replacement offer once again included shipping charges. I will never ever, ever, ever buy a thing from these people, I will much rather pay more than be fu. Ed like this!
Also, my comment about it arriving DOA bellow the item never surfaced on HK's website. Censored.
This site is a total crap! I ordered few stuffs for my brother as a gift and paid heavy expedited shipping for it and a week on, the status still says it's processing my order even after payment and everything being in stock, I've emailed them dozen times but no response, their live chat is a joke, it takes half an hour just for them to reply with computer generated bullsht and that too with just a hello, how may I help you and blah blah blah, finally after waiting for an hour it replied saying there was an error with my order and they will have to re order it, I said ok but after a day, turns out they did nothing about it, emailed, no response, live chat same response again and then just while I'm typing this, I find out they reordered and cancelled it on their own two three times and changed the shipping name and address to me! It was a gift, supposed to be shipped to different country! What the hell? I can't even cancel the order or get a refund, damn you hobbyking, may you rot in hell. Guess I just got robbed
I have been trying to order motors for a product we sell. The motors have been out of stock for 2 months. They will not share any information regarding arrival of new stock. They say everything is out of their control. If having a steady supply of ANY parts from HobbyKing is important, just be aware that they WILL NOT help you. They just offer the same excuses and tell you to keep checking. I wish I had started with another company. I'm now sourcing motors and other parts from other companies.
Take Heed,
I was looking for a entry level RC kit as a final summer toy for my boys as we build a WWII stoker.
All looked good reasonable info good delivery time... etc.
Until the first email- text ping... ping. You item is printed for dispatch... ACE 24hr express deliver might get it tomorrow, I though.
Next day delivery company text ping, your parcel will be delivered 30th aug,,,,,, HUMMM that's odd we have 24hr. I'll use live chat see what is what. So chatting to Diana Jean... and when people start with "policies we need to follow" I start getting worried. When companies start down that vain I cancel...
Please cancel... was responded by we cant the order has been printed for packing.
And so it went.
Hobby King (aka Lucky stuff LTD, uk) will go round and round finding bits or policies to make you accept the order. Once you have to order, you are statistically lightly not to send it back and reading the WWW many of you when sending stuff back report you don't get a refund.
I have not looked at the parts yet. And if they are rubbish best thing I can do is bin them as my time is not worth the mind numbing hassle of having to deal with them.
If I could give zero stars or minus it would be -5.
My one piece of advice... don't buy from them unless you are happy to accept if it goes wrong it goes in the bin and you have to buy again.
I filled in the order form I know where I live and I filled in my shipping address then paid for the order and went to bed it was midnight. Then they sent me an e mail at 2AM with a spannish address as the delivery address. I am asleep But they say I should have denied this address there and then. LATER AT 4AM there was another e mail saying they have SHIPPED my order to the address in Spain? I get up in the morning and see this Spanish address and I contact Hobby King. They say I HAD TO have given them this address and wont do anything about it SO I loose the goods and the money! It took a week of Live Chats and e mails and Only when I managed to forward the original order confirmation e mail from THEM that showed my UK address did they investigate. It took a week of me being called a lier and acusations that I gave them that wrong address. Only when I sent them their order confirmation sent to me that showed MY ADDRESS with hard proof that I did give the correct address at the time of ordering did the truth come out. Their shipping department made an error. I get a credit and no apology. THEN I get a request asking me to confirm I am happy that they resolved the problem. It was a nightmare and they seriously thought I gave them this foreign address!
I really thought that they wouldn't charge such ridiculous ******* inflated shipping prices. The shipping price was more than I was paying for the item I was going to buy and the price on the item I was going to buy was $70. SEVENTY ******* dollars! AMERICAN! Stay away from this sites shipping prices are way too expensive for someone on a budget like me. Save your money and if you really want one of their products, you're better off buying one from ebay or amazon.
I ordered a camera costing £54. It claimed it was in stock in the uk warehouse on the website. However, hobbyking have shipped it from China, and it will not be delivered until I pay £24 in customs charges, almost half the cost again. Hobbyking have been most unhelpful and just logout of the online support when I complain that the charges are unreasonable and I have been conned.
Ordered an item, charged my account, item in stock at the time of order, shipping date set, 4 (!) days later get a notice the I have to wait 30 + days to get it due to "error" between site and actual stock... Asked for help to find similar item - customer support people (though not sure if those are people) are useless, absolutely useless. Save yourself trouble go elsewhere, Never again will I do any business with these idiots.
Recently purchased a rc drift car from hobbyking called the devil. {Aka mission drift}. I put on remaining needed items and went for a test, not 2 minutes into trial run boom there goes a axle {aka the dogbone} now this is where the fun starts, i sent a inquirey about getting warranty replacement. Parts. Wich led to nothing more than me having to explain in detail and take more than 20 pictures with about ten email exchanges where i would send them pics and explain what part i needed and they would just rephrase the same question and request more pictures and say they didnt see problem i had. This is a seven dollar part that they never have in stock because they were made poorly and every car breaks same part basically they just played stupid long enough to make me give up. But really i just fgured thier game after reading some other buyers with same experience. All the same part and results. Sometimes the cheap is far more expensive. All i can say is buyer look at ratings of anything you may want to buy there before you buy. It. At least at hobbyking usa. Buyer Be Ware
Well I received a defective turning 2.2 3s battery. Submitted photos as requested that clearly shows only 2 cells connected/working. Not even an acknowledgement that item is being reviewed. Nada, zip, slant, doodly squat. It is an inexpensive $20 item but I doubt I will order anything from them again. Customer service is abusive and/or nonexistent.
WHEN WILL YOU IMPROVE AND UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE NOT CUSTOMER ORIENTED AND SCARRING AWAY FROM BUYING FROM YOU.
NO I AND NO ONE IN MY FLYING RC CLUB WILL BUY FROM YOU!
Firstly I used to get all of my RC plane gear from Hobbyking with no problems at all, however my recent experience has completely ruined everything. I purchased a EFX Racer plane, a plane capable of travelling at over 100mph, on the maiden flight after all of the ground checks the throttle stuck at flat out, the result was a plane that was dangerous to all on the ground (I have many witnesses), I had control of all other functions of the plane just not the throttle, but obviously had to get it to the ground before it either crashed into someone, of flew off out of control at 100+mph injuring someone away from the field. So the result was an RMA to Hobbyking, their answer was they can not accept a plane with crash damage, which is not only insulting to my honesty and that of the members of the flying club I was at, but also completely ignores the fact that there product was massively dangerous. Had this been a kit that had my component choices in it I would accept this, it is however their product filled with their hardware, only my Transmitter and Receiver which I have subsequently checked and are absolutely fine. Stay away from them, they are cheap for a reason, their quality control and customer service are now atrocious.
Answer: Hi. I live in the UK. I would never use hobbyking again. I never got my stuff took 3 months to get refund. Take your money and then they don't care
Answer: It all depends on the Bank that you. Plus check on why it took the refund. In fact, the refund is quick from an average of 3-4 days. Actually just given extra time for both the seller and the Bank. And accordingly, if the seller has constant operations on a refund, this has a negative impact on the company's rating for the Bank. Especially if there are disputes between buyer and seller. From my experience, the returns are realized in several ways: 1. On credit card 2. On account on the HobbyKing website. 3. Or product if not reached or was spoiled. Damaged goods was a couple of times, and some of the delivery services. Overall, the problems with the refund arose. Sorry for bad English.
Answer: Please contact us here https://support.hobbyking.com/hc/en-us/requests/new for the latest rates
Answer: In all honesty, I think it only means they got your money. That's all they seem to care about. I've been going round and round with them saying my order is complete when in fact they still owe me about 70% of the total order. They refuse to split the order and I'm tired of arguing with them. From some of the other reviews, it sounds like it's their method to start the clock early on the return policy. Regardless of whether you have actually received the item or not, the return policy starts when they say the order is complete.
Answer: PS Peter, I am assuming you mean the 1400mm EPO Flybaby? If it's the balsa 1350mm model I have no idea as I have not owned that model. Al
Answer: Hi Peter. Unfortunately I don't have the FlyBaby any more to check the battery bay I can however tell you I used ZIPPY Flightmax 3000mAh 4S1P 20C@ 139x46x25mm. A larger battery will fit but IMHO you will probably be better off with a 2200 to keep it as light as possible. Al
