SO TIRED of having my groceries delivered to the wrong address and having to request a refund! NEVER AGAIN!
I've been an Instacart customer since 2016 because I'm unable to shop for myself due to a disability.
I can't even count how many times I've received damaged produce. Even when I've specifically added polite notes for the shopper to please be mindful when selecting things.
So in the past I've had no problem getting refunded for the extremely bruised, underipe or even rotting fruit I've received.
But in the last 6 months it's been a joke.
Now if I make a complaint I get an email saying that my account has been flagged for too many complaints.
They don't even care if the shopper replaced items even though I'd said no replacement. Or items that have been missing either.
They flat out deny any refunds.
I've even sent in photos of damages or incorrect items.
THEY DON'T CARE!
The email says to click on a link if you want to appeal their decision, but it doesn't even open!
Seriously?
I'm so upset being treated like a liar trying to scam some free groceries. But they don't give a flying fk.
There's no other grocery delivery options for me and they know that and use that to their advantage.
Really, really unfair!
😡
I was trying to do a good deed. 5 young children were not going to have Easter baskets this year unless I helped out. I live in Virginia, the children are in Memphis, TN. I decided to order from Dollar Tree and have the items delivered using Instacart. BIG MISTAKE! The shopper simply decided not to buy 15 items. I had chosen replacements in case the items were not available. She just chose not to get them. She also delivered the bags in the pouring rain. There was shelter two feet from where she left the bags sitting in the rain. I called customer service and was helped by a very nice girl. She apologized and told me that I could reorder the items and they would not charge me to deliver them. I was happy. It was a great resolution. I reordered and of course there was a charge. I called customer service again. This time I was told they were going to charge me. They were not going to do anything to help me. If I wanted what I had asked for in the first place, I was going to have to pay AGAIN and of course they wanted a tip again. I asked for a manager. I was told one was not available. I did not want children disappointed on Easter morning so I had no choice but to order again. You do have a choice. DO NOT USE INSTACART!
I did an order and never arrived. I contacted the help center and they didn't want even to check as they say I asked 7 days after. I thought it would arrive later, and that it never dit. I don't recommend them, and this was my first experience with them and I will never do it again. If you give them a chance make sure you reach them out within the 7 days after, or you will not get any help... so unprofessional and bad customer service.
DO NOT WORK AT INSTACART! I tried working for them recently, and it was a BAD JOKE! The pay from Instacart is BARELY above minimum wage, you pay for your own gas, AND you pay your own taxes! You are dependent on TIPS from customers, which they can RESCIND after the delivery is complete!
I did a 2 order batch today which said would net me $34.12. I shop the orders, successfully picked all the items in my order in a timely fashion, delivered the groceries to my customers ON TIME. Then I go to cash out my pay and see that I only got paid $28! The customer RESCINDED MY $6 TIP despite all of their items being picked in a timely fashion!
I messaged Instacart about it, and they basically told me that I was OUT OF LUCK. They in no way feel responsible for the situation, and won't pay me the $6 tip I was STIFFED! So I got paid $28 for 2.5 hours of work, which amounts to $11.20 per hour MINUS gas and MINUS taxes! WHAT A RIPOFF!
If you love putting thousands of miles on your car, all so you can get paid PEANUTS, get stiffed by stingy cheap CUSTOMERS, and get the cold shoulder from your employer, then JOIN INSTACART! THEY ARE JUST FOR YOU! ENJOY THE $11.20 per hour MINUS gas and taxes, you can make a solid living off of that... 🙄
Instcart charges for priority service as a false claim. If they have other orders, they lump them in anyway. Twice this happened in one month. I am trying to cancel my subscription and get a refund. And, they say they cannot give me one due to their systems.
KICK THEM OUT OF CANADA! How did they get in? The shoppers are nasty you-know-what $#*!ES, playing any slimy game to keep their tips high.
This company is fraudulent and deceptive. Their shoppers are independent from their company, and therefore they do not intervene in the event that something goes wrong the shopper that shop for me today was not the person that delivered. My order and items were missing that were paid for including tip, and Service fee and often delivery fee. Customer service will not contact the deliver because they are independent from their business. They leave the customer to solve their problem by themselves. They will not credit a credit card, but rather give you a credit for a future purchase on Instacart. They will not refund your money for a yearly subscription if you have used it for five days, they said that they would send a receipt to say that they were crediting an account but it was never sent to the email address on file after many many attempts online with the customer service rep that was fake but then they asked you how they did in a survey to your email address which refund sent to somebody else's email address somebody else's email address fraudulent shady practices will be contacting consumer affairs, Florida consumer affairs, credit card company, bank company etc. use another service like shipped even if it's more money
On March 16th 2024, in Rochester New York at the Pittsford Wegmans, I had a black lady who was doing instacart and she was so rude. I remember she had three separate orders and she told me that I was not doing my job right and threw a paper bag in my face and demanded a receipt…. Horrible that instacart's employees treat service workers/cashiers unfairly….
Beware, I canceled an order because it contained cold meds and instead of instacart app having me scan my DL, the driver (who I don't know) wanted me to let him scan my ID! What?!?! Give my ID to an instacart driver.like phones can't be set up to retain the scan! I called customer service who agreed to give me a full refund but then instacart said they were charging me $15; even though their website clearly says "up to $15". So the cs agent said $0 they charged me the max.
I guess that should not be a big surprise.BBB is showing a government action warning about instacart.
Order was correct and delivered safely… But it's rude to mutter $#*! under your breath especially while you're walking off someone's porch. Glad I'm sound in mind and have things to lose. Otherwise I would have punched her in the back of the head.
I have found Instacart very useful at times, but have had to learn to accept a certain level of carelessness, disinterest and sloppiness both on the part of shoppers and customer service.
Shoppers often just ignore instructions. Customer service is sometimes interested in helping solve your problem and sometimes not. Beware of making too many complaints, (i.e. Spoiled produce, missing items, incorrect items, poor substitutions, orders delivered too early or too late, etc.) Instacart expects the customer to meekly accept that sometimes you are just going to have a bad Instacart experience and you should just suck that up. If you DO make what they consider to be too many complaints, they will place a restriction on your account which means no more refunds or credits for you, no matter how many orders their shoppers screw up. That sounds like theft to me, but maybe it's just my view point.
It isn't always bad. Quite often it's very good, with shoppers who communicate with you and really make an effort to do their job well. And when it's done right, it really is a time saver. Sadly, you just don't know when it's going to be done right.
Bottom line - keep your expectations very low, never tip extra up front (you can always increase your tip later if your order is handled well) and don't expect much in the way of customer service.
I ordered my groceries through Instacart on Saturday. They were supposed to deliver between 7 & 8 pm. Later I got a message that they rescheduled it for Sunday, 7-9 am. Okay, that's fine.
Sunday I get a message that my groceries will be delivered by 10 am. 10 am passed, no groceries. 10:45 am no groceries & no message as to why my delivery hasn't arrived.
Sunday, 11 am I had to call Instacart. They said they didn't have anyone this weekend & my grocery delivery got rescheduled for 1 am Tuesday, 2 days later. My caregiver didn't show up Friday. I have no water, no milk, no treats for my dog & cat, so they expect me to starve. BS.
About myself: I am a disabled elderly female & can only get around by my caregiver. I will not use this service ever again.
They did me wrong & they know it & won't receive any repercussions for it., like every other corporation that screws over the American People. Then the representative on the line told me to have a 'Nice Day'. No, that won't happen. I don't know what I'm going to do.
Then they wonder why I didn't give them their full tip in the beginning. And although it's their fault for my inconvenience, I won't see my refund for another 3-7 days. They credited my bank account even though they never started shopping for the items in my order.
In conclusion, Instacart is corrupt! And I wouldn't recommend anyone to use their services.
I called in because the driver cancelled my order because I missed her phone call. However, I left delivery instructions including building number, closest landmark to my unit, and instructions to leave order at my door. The driver called one time and cancelled my order and when I returned her call she stated "The order was cancelled because when they called you you didn't answer the phone" then she proceeded to hang up in my face. I then received a email saying that I will receive a cancellation fee so I called the support line. I spoke with a representative name Sheila who I explained my issue too and she was no help at all. She placed me on hold a few different times for a long period of time, she even had me on a silent hold for like 5 mins another time. She basically told me she will be unable to help me or do ANYTHING to fix the situation. I proceeded to ask to speak with her manager, she refused so I asked for her managers, manager and she then refused again and eventually told me she is unable to help me and disconnected the call. I never used foul language or disrespected either the driver or the representative but they both showed me that Instacart does not care about their customers whatsoever. There was no customer service on either of their parts, they were both extremely unprofessional, and my issue is still unresolved. I will be reporting this up the chain of command if someone doesn't contact me. At this point it is no longer about the cancellation or the cancellation fee, it's now about the lack of customer service and the lack of professionalism these employees displayed. I will no longer be utilizing instacart
Found out this morning that I was signed up for their paid membership without my knowledge or permission. I only found out because they charged me $100+ for it. I needed that money for my bills, which I now can't afford to pay. Their mistake just screwed me over entirely. I will never be using their service again.
I took the subscription for 12 months... I'm at month # 13 and i have not renewed this service.
6 times in 12 months they have blocked my account under "suspicious acitivity" while every time asking for a picture of my ids... who needs a picture of my IDs to reset my password, or send me a 2 factor verification via email or phone...
I have requested the specific of the suspicious activity. I got nothing, and when I pressed, they've unlocked my account in less than 20 minutes.
This is 100% a scam. Gathering people's IDs, actual picture of someone IDs, is illegal and really not needed for this type of service. Even banks are reluctant to ask when the person is not physically present.
But every 2 months? How can I have suspicious activity when I have change address, bank, bank account, credit card, credit card company or sex? (that last one is narcistic)
They are gathering as much personal information as they can, while the owner is a Indian born, canadian citizen and is hiring ONLY indian people.
So a racist, a scammer and, well, I have a name for us all:
Apoorva Mehta
This is the man behind it all. This is a massive Scam. The snake that you let in and then bite you, that is Apoorva Mehta
Each individual item is marked up and on top there is a tip, a service fee that for me amounts to 10%, and a delivery fee. With all that added up my groceries were significantly higher. The add on the experience of shopper not finding the products that show as high stock items. Then the chosen replacements not registering the prices from when order was placed, but also higher to the already inflated individual prices for using the service. You pay more when they screw-up, essentially.
This occurred on 2-22-2024. I received a delivery of
Groceries from Instacart, and when I
Unpacked my bags, I found religious propaganda materials
In one. I am highly offended that someone would use my
Order to force highly offensive material on me while they
Are on the clock. This behaviour is unconscionable. I
Contacted Instacart customer service via telephone to
Complain, and was told the only thing they can do is
Block this shopper from my address again. However, how
Does this stop her from doing this to others? I was
Also told I could not retrieve the tip I committed to, so there
Is no way I can show my dispeasure.
I used this as im disabled and the price diffence the reciept 56.98 on recipt 65.12 online and 75 dollars from my account
I was happy when this became available but you should not have to repeat change time 5 times get more reliable employees that will get the job done
Answer: Instacart does not give you the sale prices from the store. So if the peanut butter is 3.50 on sale. Instacart will charge you 4.80 regular price. Their prices are all over the board but on average you are paying 20% more.
Answer: You can't! The only way I got a response from them was when they emailed me to rate my driver and I gave a bad review for her and Instacart. I got an email back. Otherwise, there is no Customer Service! I tried everything under the "Help" section and got nowhere!
Answer: Seriously? They have already scientifically proven that is not spread that way. How many strangers & kids and semi drivers and warehouse people touch your stuff before it even leaves the store.
Answer: No, they don't by policy. But I've found they don't deliver anything else either. Last two orders were cancelled. I dumped my account and told them to keep the gift card balance. Done with InstaCart.
