The company's reputation is significantly marred by numerous customer complaints regarding deceptive practices, particularly related to affiliate link manipulation and inadequate customer support. While some users appreciate the potential savings and coupon-finding capabilities of the service, many express frustration over unresponsive customer service, difficulties redeeming rewards, and perceived scams affecting both consumers and content creators. Positive feedback highlights the effectiveness of the browser extension in finding discounts; however, the overarching sentiment reflects a growing distrust among customers due to unresolved issues and lack of transparency in operations.

Honey will tell you on occasion that you can save money by purchasing a gift card through them. This is not always true. Recently, by purchasing a J. C. gift card through Honey I actually had to pay more. My basket was 44 dollars before Honey said I could save 3 dollars by purchasing a gift card through them. So, I bought the $41 dollar gift card, and not only did my basket not change to $41 dollars, but it changed to $55! So, by using the gift card honey told me to buy, I actually had to PAY $11 dollars more than I would have otherwise.
Worst of all, when I contact Honey support chat, they were less than helpful and refused to do anything to make the situation right.
It's a scam. When I purchased the gift card they did not ask me for confirmation and I do not have proof anymore. It suddenly made the transaction go through even when it did not ask me for confirmation. I do not remember clicking it and would remember if shown. Refund this asap please Paypal team.
I am trying to redeem $169 for the last 6 days, with no luck. I send multiple emails, chat, Twitter messages, still not a single response since then. Don't waste time using this cashback site.
I have over $100 in vested "Honey Gold" in my account but their website won't allow me to complete the redemption process - it just freezes after I hit the submit button. Multiple inquiries to their customer service email with no responses. No other way to reach them. They blocked me on Twitter when I DM'd them for help! Never experienced anything like this with any other cashback site. Scammers.
I ordered Shari's Berries using a "Honey" deal with their gift card. Shari's missed the delivery date and refunded the money to Honey. My Honey account does not show the refund. I have emailed multiple times with no response. They do not list a phone number on their website so you have to Google it. I finally found it, and I have left messages with no response. I guess I am out $130. Thanks Honey for being a scam artist.
Recently purchased a pair of shoes on Zappos which Honey was offering a cashback reward for the purchase. Appeared as pending on my account then disappeared after a week. Reached out to Honey support. Long story short they were not going to honor the cash back offer.
Honey is a very good website. It will search all the coupon codes then test and use them. Then it saves a amount of money. Plus its free so its like free money!
It had saved over 160 million dollars from coupon code discounts.
Plus its safe to install!
This is the worst extension ever. Not only has it NEVER found any discounts for me, but it has even REMOVED promo codes that were originally on my order in order to try and find a better discount. So I couldn't even use the discounts I had on my purchase before Honey removed them. The only time Honey ever found any savings it was a whole... ONE PENNY! You've got to be joking. This extension messes up my computer and takes my own deals away and replaces my purchase with no deals. And why does it take THREE MONTHS for Honey gold to show up on my account? There is literally no reason why it should take that long. It's all virtual and the gold is not a tangible object. Why can't it just be automatically applied after the purchase? This is so stupid and I'm not waiting three months for a 99 cents credit. What a joke. I'll be deleting my account and reporting Honey on other websites as well. DON'T USE HONEY!
Honey is supposed to find coupons and discounts for products online, mainly Amazon. On Amazon.com, it suggests different sellers with lower prices for the same item sold by Amazon. It also tracks price history and graphs the price changes. None of this works on Amazon.co.uk. Simply put, if you live in the UK, don't waste your time. They offer Honey "gold" on eBay purchases. Collect 1400 honey gold and get a £10 gift card. Only it takes up to 90 days to get the gold credited to your account... if at all. Again, if you live in the UK, don't waste your time. It's basically useless.
Okay, I love Honey. They have coupons for so many sites that I use and if not, they frequently give cash back ("honey gold"). It's so nice that it's just a browser extension instead of having to search for coupons. My only critique is that I have had "pending" honey gold points for MONTHS. I have had 418 "pending" honey gold points for purchases I made months ago.
Beware of using their Checkout with Gift Card feature. If something goes wrong with the transaction, you are out the money you used to purchase the gift card through them. I used the system to purchase a Lowes card. Lowes system had an error on the order, cleared the money from the card and would not rectify the situation. Honey was of no help either.
I use honey alongside some others. Extension is reliable and finds coupons easily. The site has comparison shopping, and it works good too. Sometimes honey is the only site to offer a rebate, but it is often not the best paying. I keep it for the coupon checking. One of the fastest coupon at checkout extensions.
Amazing app. I have been extremely happy with it so far. It scans for multiple coupons found online and applies the viable one to orders. And, the company does what they advertise.
Honey points accumulate which allows the customer to apply them to gift certificates offered through their website. I've been using the app for about a year now, and they have sent me about $20 in gift certificates of my choosing.
Only after the reviews were posted on July 24,2020, did I receive the refund on July 28,2020. I will not do business with them in the future.
On July 14,2020, Honey promised a refund for an unused gift card purchased through Honey only if I removed the dispute. They claimed they couldn't process it while a dispute was in progress. I removed the dispute and advised them on July 17. I received no reply whatsoever to several e-mails sent since then. This company is a fraud and shouldn't be trusted with your personal information.

I have saved so much in coupons alone. It is worth downloading this button. When I have problems not getting app to activate then I am alerted to checkout issues. A nice little feature.(I had Shop Pay automatically activating and asking for a code which was more than annoying.) Customer Service has been kind and helpful. I have been using for five or six months. I have a $10 reward that I can use for a gift card now. I really have been using to find coupons. There is a pop-up where additional cashback happens if you purchase something in 2 hours or so. I have used that once or twice. Overall, a good money saving app.
I absolutely love having Honey installed on my Chrome browser. I am huge on finding the best deals possible so oftentimes I already have a coupon for something before looking at honey. On more than one occasion Honey has gotten me an even bigger discount then what I had originally. I love it when it pops up at the time of checkout and I get to watch all the coupons be applied and see the different prices. I would recommend this to anyone.
If your an online shopper, why not add Honey to your web browser. I use both, Honey and Ratuken, to earn money back on my shopping. When one isn't paying, the other is. An extra click or two is all it takes!
While Honey did save me some money, it could often lead to price increases during checkout and then you had to redo the cart to get back to the original prices. This is most pronounced with Swanson Health online store. I also had problems with the extension spuriously triggering at non-retail survey sites. It leads to extra attention to dismiss those unwanted pop ups. When I contacted Honey support, they were quick in response and worked diligently to absolve themselves of responsibility. These guys are parsimonious and not your advocate and seeing how they've been in business for over 5 years, not very capable.
I used Honey as a browser extension for quite a while, most notably on Amazon. Shopping over a great variety of items, I found that the savings that Honey finds for all of the items is either the same savings as Amazon, Walmart, Target etc, and when it does find a difference, it doesn't seem to be more than 25 to 50 cents cheaper. I believe that Honey takes up some unnecessary computer/tablet/phone system resources, which can slow your device down. Not worth it to me.
