The company has garnered significant criticism for its customer service, particularly regarding the handling of PPP loans, with many customers reporting unresponsive support and frustrating experiences in accessing funds. While some reviews highlight the ease of obtaining loans, the high fees and unfavorable terms have led to perceptions of predatory lending practices. Positive feedback is limited, primarily centering on individual staff members who provided assistance. Overall, the sentiment reflects deep dissatisfaction with the company's operational reliability and support, raising concerns about its commitment to small business clients and the integrity of its lending practices.

I have a 680 fico, they did hard pull, and gave them linked bank accounts with+50k mn deposits and they are still evaluating three weeks later. I called customer service many times and they can't help. Just wait for computer. Seems like a scam. For line of credit
Tried to get an online checking account with them. Was asked to "provide documents" multiple times despite providing them and making multiple calls with their staff from India who were useless. Was sent a rejection email today because "I didn't call them to confirm documents." Kabbage seems like another indian scam.
Could not open the account becuase they could not read the document and nobody to talk to in person
They dont care called to reason for not accepting my application "we can request only 2 time for the document couple of times " and thats it rejected for life time nobody to explain or answer their question
Banking with Chase and BOA no problem
Maybe it was my name that stopped them from opening account
Phone number get dicsconneted while on hold and nobody to talk to
Total cut throat business lending! They received their government sba bail out but stick to the business's that were hurt during the pandemic with their fly by night lawyers.
Fast Funding and Great Customer Support!. kabbage.com Thanks for existing. Your service is out of this world.
Signed up and their link to my other bank was old. Notified them a week ago and still hasn't been fixed. I thought I'd try to deposit a check - their website indicates I just need to select Deposit Check from the Account Overview screen on the mobile app. Might be great if there were actually a Deposit Check option on the app Account Overview screen! I thought this would be a solid product now with the Amex tie-in. Could not have been more wrong. Really regret signing up for this account.
We had our first PPP loan through Kabbage and were quite happy, a few hiccups but fine. On the second draw on PPP loan we put in the application and the dashboard said that the application had been submitted with the SBA. It was taking FOREVER but I just assumed that the SBA was taking their sweet time and waited patiently. Then 6 MONTHS later on my dashboard it said that the PPP loan application had been withdrawn "at my request." I called and spent 2 days on hold talking with multiple disoriented phone jockeys that could not give me an answer except that this was happening with a lot of applications and seems to be a software issue. When I finally talked to a manager (add a couple hours to the hold time) she told me that they had never submitted my application to the SBA and that they found that they would have to request some more paperwork from me, which would have required someone to write an email or update my dashboard, but that seemed hard so they just cancelled my application and told me it was "at my request". The manager told me that they would not restart the application even if I provided the required paperwork and told me to apply elsewhere. They just wasted half a year for a struggling business (and it sounds like multiple struggling businesses) attempting to get some much needed relief because after 6 months of my waiting send me an email seemed hard...
I was referred to Kabbage for my PPP and that was the WORST decision I could have made! There was an error on my PPP amount where they said that they would be paying me $4294 when based on the math of my Schedule C, I should be paid $6616. 25. The problem was that when I tried to resolve this before signing the loan, Kabbage was Completely unreachable! I tried for months, spent hours and hours and days and days of my time to resolve this, and NEVER did anyone pick up one of my phone calls or answer an email. So by the time came for the first round of the PPP to finish, I had 1 option only, either sign for the mistaken amount and get something instead of nothing, or not sign and get nothing... So I signed in the hopes that I could resolve after the fact with them. However, when Kabbage actually did respond to my emails, over 8 months after I started trying to contact them, they said that because I signed the loan, that they couldn't do anything for me, and sorry, that that was not the answer I was hoping for... What was I supposed to do? If I didn't sign, I would have nothing, and their answer would have been, sorry, but the deadline has passed, nothing we can do, and oh, sorry that's not the answer you're looking for... In short, get your loans or PPP from ANY Other institution other than Kabbage! They are there just to get their payout from the government and do NOT care about the people that own small businesses, like me, and that actually need the money. They have fully automated their service so that they never have to interact with the actual people and any phone numbers and emails on their site are useless when there is actually a deadline, they just automate their phones to hang up on you after you wait for 30 minuets... Choose anyone else! They cost me $2300 and don't care at all...
I drove for UBER, UBER went to Washington DC to get a special relief loan for UBER drivers funded by Kabbage. UBER sent me a special application code and a 1099 document with a link to Kabbage to apply for a special relief loan. I was approved mediately. They sent me an email to take the loan before it expired. There was no link or any way to take the loan on there website. After multiple emails and phone calls with no response on either of what to do it expired. Just another scam company taking government money for them self. All they have to say during an audit is say see here we sent him an email to collect and he didn't. WHAT A RIP OFF COMPANY.
Getting a line of credit with Kabbage was the worst decision I've ever made for my business. Between the astronomical hidden fees and the insanely high interest, Kabbage is a lose/lose deal.
The company has no internal communication and terrible customer service. Condescending managers who are happy to run you through the ringer with no help.
Fast forward March 2020. Upon the start of corona virus, despite NEVER missing a payment, Kabbage yanked my line of credit. As my city was shutting down, when my business needed additional funds more than ever, with out any reason or notice, the cancelled my line of credit. When I called, they said it was because my credit score went down... they were correct, it did go down. 3 points.
I continue making my payments, and eventually reach the point where things are getting pretty grim and need to make some arrangements. I call in weekly, let customer service know how much I can pay and when and think it's all good. There is NO COMMUNICATION WHATSOEVER within the company. Essentially, even if you just make the agreed upon payment and set a date for the next payment, they are still going to bombard you with automated calls. Apparently they cannot figure out how to program their basic automations.
It's been a stressful 9 months, but I've been making my payments and arrangements diligently without too much issue, until today. I'm in manufacturing, in Louisiana and last week we had a storm which knocked out power for days... in some areas it's still not on. Because of the outage, I literally have no work going out until earliest next week. I have a small payment ($1100ish) that I figured I could defer to next week. I honestly did not think it was a big deal, as I've deferred payments before. After getting bounced around to three people who could not help me with my request, I get passed off to the "manager" Jared.
I expressed my issues with Jared, who pretty much said once the payment was set there was nothing he could do about it. I found that hard to believe, and albeit, was very stressed/frustrated at this point, and I imagine it showed in my tone. Jared then proceeded to tell me I could call chase to issue a stop payment. Quite frankly, after sitting on their phone, and getting bounced from person to person, one wrong department to another, the last thing I wanted to do was sit on another automated call, especially since Kabbage was a complete waste of my time. I may have said something along the lines of "I won't even be able to get a person on the line at chase.", which while not true, we all know it means I have an even longer, more frustrating call in my future. In a completely uncompassionate and condescending manner, Jared then offer to give me the phone number to chase.
(At that point I hung up on him. I'm seeking help, not some dude to talk down to me.)
As so many others wrote their PPP loan application customer service was non existent, they didn't approve, although I was clearly eligible, called them many times and emailed them, never got through to a human until today, when I suddenly received a humans email response more than a month after the PPP loan deadline.
They shouldn't have offered this service, if they cant deal with it and don't have any customer service, companies were relying on them and lost out by being told that the loans weren't going through after PPP application deadline, we could have applied with other banks, who would have communicated with us.
Shame on Kabbage, they are a group of incompetents and frauds!
Wasting peoples time and misleading them.
They owe apologies to hundreds of small businesses, however their apologies wont help at all.
Kabbage approved my PPP loan. I attempted to connect my bank account and had to call 27 times to be told to try again since they have a 1 minute recorded message and hang up on you after another 3. Emails to support whent unanswered. Another 15 calls and I got through to somebody that solved the problem. They the attempted to fund my PPP loan but they put numbers in the recipient name field so Chase declined the transfer. Kabbage asked for more documents which I provided and now Kabbage is now refusing to redo the transfer and so I will not get my approved PPP loan. I would give zero stars if I could. Do NOT work with this company. They are incompetent scammers. I will be contacting a lawyer.
I was approved for a PPP loan but, can't get the funds deposited into my account. I've called and emailed dozens of times in the past two weeks to try and get my account info updated but no response. Now they tell me my loan offer may be cancelled. It would just take a few minutes to help me, it seems crazy they wont even respond or try to help. Don't take on loans you can't service when people's businesses are on the line
I had originally applied for a PPP loan through Lendio by the original June 30th deadline. They referred me to Kabbage to continue my loan application through them instead. I struggled to complete my application because the website kept crashing and giving an error message. After talking with a rep, they had to reset the application completely. I applied all over again, only to get the error and crash message again. I waited a few days, tried one more time, and it finally went through. Then, they kept sending automated emails for me to upload additional documents, that they didn't initially request when I had applied. They kept asking for a schedule C, which my business doesn't have. After emailing and getting no response whatsoever, and calling and waiting only to get hung up on, I finally talked to someone, who told me they would have to change my business structure on my application on their end, and told me one more additional document that I should upload. I uploaded it that day. About a week later, I get an automated response that they've closed PPP applications and mine didn't go through. I called to ask why, and they said I never uploaded my schedule C. I told the rep that my business doesn't have one, that they're asking for the wrong document, and I had uploaded the correct ones and was waiting for them to change my business to a corporation structure so it could be processed. But it was too late. This cost me thousands of dollars of forgivable loans that I could absolutely have used for payroll. They were utterly negligent and very hard to reach through the entire application process, which took over a month. If I would have known this from the beginning, I would have applied through another lender.
I have been in business for years. Applied for the PPP Loan so I can hire back my employees. I submitted all my LEGAL documents just to be told weeks later I was denied cause they couldn't verify my business information when I emailed for a Dispute on their decision it's like a ghost town I'm still waiting for a reply cause I call bull crap. When I called the rep I last talked to literally laughed in my face when I said I was denied an told me to email the dispute team SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL ‼‼‼
I was approved for a PPP loan and I was never able to accept the loan do to issues with their website. I called them over 50 times and sent numerous e-mails with no response. When you call your call is automatically dropped after a few minutes in the Que. Now my PPP loan is denied because I could not take action within the 20 day time limit and I am being told I can't apply for another loan by other Lenders. Worst customer service ever and their actions will have implications to my employees and their lives. I can't even apply using another lender. I would never recommend using them for anything.
Very disappointed
Kabbage has ignored the majority of my emails, provided inadequate customer service & lied to me!
It looks like they were just overwhelmed with applications. But they eventually got back to me and fix everything. Thank you I appreciate it
Kabbage took all of my information, including bank, SSN and tax info then stopped answering any calls or emails. Shady. Forced me to change all of my accounts. Beware. Possible fraudulent / I.d. theft company. The phone cuentakes you in circles and them hangs up on you. Every time. Any option. Beware
I have called a million times with no answer. It has my bank account on profile, even did the micro deposits, however it won't allow me to verify my bank. Now they have suspended funding. I had high hopes of getting my business back on track.
At one time offered business loans, but cut all customers' lines of credit to $0 without warning (Google the Bloomberg article reporting on Kabbage related to this topic). I'd question everything about this firm's management practices, and would steer well clear of a business relationship with them.
Answer: I definitely would not recommend Kabbage to anyone, but especially to someone starting a new business. The interest and fees will kill your new business before you've even had a chance to get it started. I own a small business (2 employees, $200K in annual sales) that is over 15 years old, and the Kabbage loan I took out for $25K for an expansion nearly bankrupted my business. There are better ways to find funding for a new business - grants are out there for women who want to start a business, you can try your luck at crowdfunding (look at Kickstarter, Indiegogo, Rocket Hub, Crowdrise, Angellist, Quirky, and others), approach local friends or family members who would like to invest in your business (you can use ZimpleMoney, com to keep track of their loan payments). Kabbage is a stupid and dangerous way to start up a business. Only a complete idiot would do that.
Answer: Thanks for your question, John. Kabbage's loans are fundamentally different in structure from a traditional loan. Interest isn't charged on the loan balance, and a customer can pay a loan back early and save on future fees. We encourage you to take a look at our "How it Works" page on our website for help understanding the fee structure. If you have any questions not answered there, you can give us a call at 888-986-8263. Thanks for getting in touch!
Answer: Hi Jessica, you can go on their site and enter the amount you want to "borrow" and Kabbage will give you this information up front before you agree to receiving the cash. I borrowed $21,000 and paid nearly $8,000 in interest and fees. It HURT my business, very much! I strongly encourage you to try other companies or look to local lending networks or a local bank.
Answer: It's based on them having access to your bank account through you online banking. You need to provide your institution and password so they have full access to your account. They are not trustworthy. Do not allow them access to that information.
Kabbage provides automated, online financing to small businesses in minutes.
