Lyft Reviews Summary

The company faces significant challenges in customer satisfaction and service reliability, as numerous reviews highlight issues such as unexpected charges, poor communication, and inadequate customer support. Many customers express frustration over billing discrepancies and difficulties in reaching live assistance, leading to perceptions of the company as untrustworthy. There is no contact number to deal with problems. Worst way to serve customers and handle problems. I have never seen such a horrible way. They don't even have a contact number.

GPS maps
February 8, 2024

The maps always take a turn when there's a straight away street. Regardless if it's navigating through traffic or road work. It's a lot faster to take the route without the detour. This is Texas there is traffic everywhere taking a turn from traffic leads you into more traffic just to get back to the same traffic đŸ¤¯

Mental health
February 6, 2024

011

I ride Lyft twice daily to and from work. I had a driver by the name of Jasmine who drives a white ford fusion. Cancel my ride and put me out of her car and threatened to call the police if I didn't get out of her car. She was late picking me up. The timer said driver will arrive in 3minutes. Looking at her location her car was stopped for 15 minutes. I called her to make sure that the app was prop working and that I didn't miss her. When she made it to me I was late for work! I expressed my concern. And she wanted to be combative and I refused and asked could she just get me to work. I reached out to Lyft and all they told me was I wouldnt be paired with Jasmine in the future. Unacceptable. I let Lyft know this decision was unacceptable and I've been ignored by Lyft. Just because you've passed the background checks doesn't mean your mental health is good. She clearly had a breakdown and I was the victim. And I was late for work. I'd rather use UBER instead. Terrible problem solving

Lyft is criminal!
January 24, 2024

I wish I could give zero stars. Booked a ride over in late December from Charlotte international airport to Columbia,SC for my niece. The total charge was $168. The driver called me and asked how much Lyft was charging. I told him $168 he said Lyft was only paying him $60 for the trip.

I book another ride this morning for myself and Lyft charged me $143. I asked the driver how much Lyft was paying, and was told $60. This is very dishonest to myself and the driver. I will never used Lyft again. I will be sure to make videos for multiple social media platforms so customers will be enlightened on what Lyft is doing.

I left my iphone in a Lyft car. Within an hour I got on the Lyft website to report the lost item. Lyft is in constant contact with its drivers, so this should have been an easy procedure. After an hour, I called. Emma took my info. Several hours later, no word. There was no way to get an update on my original request, so I put in another. Lyft sends you an automated response acknowledging they received the request, but no one actually responded with anything substantive, like attempting to contact the driver. The next day I called again. Evangeline took the same info, but made no reference to any previous request or telephone call, even though she had my account info. Four days pass and no substantive response from Lyft. I submit a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, within hours I receive a call from the driver, who told me that he only received one call on Thursday, (incident was on Monday). He had put the phone aside and figured that someone would contact him about it.
Then, to top it off, Lyft told the BBB that they had been trying to contact the driver all week. You can find the full detail at BBB Complaint ID: *******.
I am still trying to figure out why Lyft would go to so much trouble to be that uncaring about its customers. Maybe since they are out of San Francisco, and people don't care enough to even clean the streets, why should Lyft employees care about anything? This is what happens when a country rejects God.

I'd called my Medicaid provider for medical transportation. They couldn't even tell me who was supposed to come get me. I'd had just a general time frame, then no one showed up until maybe fifteen minutes later and left while I was on the phone, only to find out it was somebody from Lyft. I had no number for Lyft, only found out what kind of vehicle to stand around in the frigid cold for at the last minute. Lyft tried to send back the same driver, who'd cancelled to pick up his Kid from McDonald's, the second they'd sent cancelled as well. An hour after my appointment was scheduled for their messaging system had still been attempting to summon a driver. The doctor's office was already closed by that time, and they only give you a ten- minute window to be late before they'll refuse to see you anyhow. Had to cancel and reschedule. Made the breakdown of my car just that much more difficult. They let the drivers cherry- pick whoever or not to pick up. Perhaps just because the fare would be less. Thanks piles, Lyft! Never again...

Took my money
January 11, 2024

I sent for a Lyft and had 4 different messages one on the way and the last the driver left. I'm standing outside of Forman Mills with my youngest. When I received the driver is here I'm searching and calling him then I received a message in 27 seconds the driver left. I paid almost $20 and Lyft wanna give me back $8.50. How could a business making millions have a need to steal like this. How can the government allow them to have no number for clients.i was so cold I text wrong but I meant I did screenshots the $18.99 Lyft took they only wanna give back $8.50.if they're allowed to do this we all fail ourselves so I'm going to the major station tomorrow to help others fight this. It would've helped if I was able yo speak with somebody about this but there are to many complaints on Lyft and nobody helps people screenshot all they're messages. They even have drivers that dont have their license renewed and having accidents. I personally know about this cause it was my sister thank God I was there to make her get & keep all that info. Lyft how much money is enough for you to loose. The law does not do a good job at keeping citizens safe. Hopefully a lawyer will find this message and reach out to shut them down. They love complaints here but who helps

Dear Lyft #Lyft … we are not impressed with your customer service. I cannot find a phone number or an email to reach you. Your "help" button on the app is worthless. I wanted to let someone know of our poor experience with your driver named "Bogale" in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the future I think we shall find another company to use for rides.

Our ride from the Excalibur Hotel to the airport arrived quickly, and we got in, headed out. Within a minute he stopped the car (he didn't speak English) he pointed to his phone and seemed to ask us a question… as he pointed to his phone the word written in red letters said "HAMMED!" We didn't know what he was saying nor did we know what that word meant. He mumbled something we couldn't understand and he turned the car around. He took us back to the hotel! He took our luggage out of the trunk and made us get out. He left.

I attempted to get another ride but of course I had to cancel the first ride. They charged me $6 to cancel! Even tho I clicked "driver requested us to cancel"!

I tried everything to report this driver and our experience but couldn't. The app was completely worthless. It was very generic and I couldn't explain what happened. It just said we wouldn't be paired with him in the future.

Thanks to Citibank I am getting the fee refunded- but it was the point that I couldn't let someone at Lyft know what he did. That makes me furious. I will not do business with a company that has no customer service.

I wanted to share this message with as many as possible in hopes #LYFT will do better for their customers in the future. Please share this. Thank you!

Vicinity Lyft Rider
January 5, 2024

From the start this Lyft rider was very rude and angry at me because my GPS froze and She was complaining that she was getting late for work and still needs to drop off her child somewhere. Yelling at me and swearing obscenities at me, I felt so nervous and I decided to pull over the side and politely asked her to find another ride. The more she got very upset while trying to open the exit car door, she grabbed a bottled soda and sprayed it all over me and the car then tossed the bottle towards face and upper extremities, half of my body had gotten soaked from the sticky drink and even face became swollen and my eyes were in pain. When she tried to continue assaulting me, her child tried to move towards her and I accidentally tapped his shoulder. Mother started screaming stating I hurt the child. To make the story short, she immediately called Lyft and reported that I physically harmed the child. I also called Lyft support to report the incident but it seems like they were giving me the runaround by passing my phone call from one staff to the other until to my surprise I receive a message from their safety person telling me in a harsh way that I'm being permanently deactivated as a driver without listening to both sides I was accused of physically assaulting a child. I was not given the chance to explain that I was the victim. I sent a letter to Lyft that the rider was a liar because I did not hurt anybody and I'm just defending my self. To sum it all up, I am now very anxious and depressed for a senior citizen military retired like me was disrespected and humiliated. I don,t think Lyft is ever going to listen to both sides of the incident now reason why I'm writing this statement to warn other ride share drivers to be careful and fight for our rights.

All over me

I order a ride with lyft the driver doesnt say your in the car. U take your ride in under 5 mins and your still charged a extra fee and your already at your home. I disputed it for them to still charge me. My boyfriend uses lyft for work and at least once a week they charge him for a extra ride and never give him his money back. You all need a person to take complaints and we want all out money back you all steal extra fees based off your drivers saying we are still in the vehicle or we took linger then the 5 mins to return back to the car. Bad business all the way you need to fix this problem. Tired of being charged extra off your drivers inability to say we in and out there vehicles to be paid more.

WTF LYFT
December 30, 2023

When I first started using Lyft it was cool, lately, as in the last 2 weeks it's been HORRIBLE. I have been double charged for rides because they revert to my card on file even though I have Lyft cash. There IS NO customer service. Everything is in the app and all the issues are generic and useless. The last 2 rides I had to direct the driver because he didn't know The City. Lyft has lost me as a rider. I'm going to use up this Lyft cash and THAT'S IT. WTF LYFT?
