I bought the Molekule Mini thinking it was the pinnacle of modern air purification – sleek design, "revolutionary" PECO technology, FDA-cleared claims that sounded too good to be true. Spoiler: It was. This thing is a glorified fan with delusions of grandeur, and Molekule's latest app update has turned it into a full-blown hostage situation.
Let's start with the basics: Performance? Laughable. Independent tests from Consumer Reports and Wirecutter have repeatedly shown it underperforms basic HEPA filters in particle removal, while guzzling energy like a gas-guzzling SUV and blasting noise levels that could wake the dead. It takes forever to cycle air in even a small room, leaving you with the same dusty, allergen-filled nightmare you started with. And the "destroy pollutants" PECO filter? More marketing smoke and mirrors than actual science – it barely edges out a $50 Walmart special in real-world use.
But the real gut-punch came with their app "update." Out of nowhere, Molekule decided to brick the device unless you're shelling out for their overpriced proprietary filters. No more third-party options, no more cost-saving hacks – just you, bent over a barrel, paying $100+ every few months for what amounts to a fancy paper towel with LED lights. It's not innovation; it's a subscription trap disguised as smart tech. Customer service? A black hole of automated emails and overseas hold music that makes you question your life choices. One replacement filter arrived reeking like a chemical plant, and they suggested "off-gassing it in your garage for days" – because nothing says "premium product" like DIY hazmat protocols.
At $400 upfront, plus endless filter fees, this isn't an air purifier – it's a money pit engineered to exploit eco-conscious suckers. Molekule, you're not saving the planet; you're pickpocketing it. Do yourself a favor: Buy a Coway or Levoit instead. You'll breathe easier and keep your wallet intact. 1/5 stars – only because zero isn't an option.

Doesn't filter the air any better than other units on the market for a far less price. After the first replacement filter, a few months after receiving the new Molekule unit, the unit stopped working. Molekule sent another filter and of course, the unit still did not operate correctly. They offered to take the unit back and replace the unit. Good right? You would think so, BUT... I had to buy a box to return the unit and after they received the unit, they sent me a REFURBISHED unit. Who wants a unit that had problems and is now allegedly fixed as a replacement? When you return a defective appliance, you should receive a new replacement. I mean, this is a $1,000.00 unit and your expectations of quality is high. When I questioned receiving a refurbished unit, Molekule said it is against their policy to replace defective units with another new unit. And the new unit was only several months old. I am now trying to get a full refund. So, BUYER BEWARE, do not purchase a Molekule, they do not last, they do not filter air any better than other units on the market and Molekule does not stand behind their product.

Purifier is good but the application and process to hook up is terrible. Customer Service is call center is reading a script. They have no technical knowledge. Very frustrated.

I hate that company! I will right it every where.
They don't want to talk to the client, the operator didn't resolve the problem for the whole day I talked to her. She just repeat the same words for the whole day! She said she will cancel auto charges for filter refills but she didn't. Very disappointed. They don't want to help clients they want to so called charge you. Because thier policy said 5-10 business days))))) wow! Are you for real? That means they are waiting for the client to give up.

My purifier doesn't work. The filter is almost new but as far as I supposed to be charged in half year it shows that I need to change the filter. Bravo!
Disgusting! I would love to get the refund and return money for the purifier itself.
Because the operator didn't even try to solve the problem I will not be able to make a payment I expected to do!

Worst air purifier I have ever bought! And I didn't buy one, I bought 6 different units. After a year I can tell you they are not worth what they say, the app opens work, the units disconnect at least once a week, they don't let you ljnow when is time to change your filter, autor refill wont get there on time since they use an estimate, if you over use you unit you will have to call them and let them know so they can ship it earlier (what is the point if having this units) will not recommend to anyone

Non working mini:
Rep. Was insulting said asked if it was plugged in. Then asked if it clicked and I said yes. They guy was so insulting that he asked to put the phone by the unit, so he could hear the click I did. Got an email back saying they wanted to trouble shoot a device with no power issue. They Have to delay because in 30 days it cannot be returned after that. App did not work.

I am using it in my bedroom as I was feeling that cleaning air may help me sleep. It certainly did. I have not set up app to monitor, but set the switch to AUTO and it has been running quietly since installation. Molekule helps eliminate any external pollutant that is causing you feel bad. If the air filter does not cure it you need medical attention. It is a little hard to handle for a severe RA patient (like changing filters or moving it), but it only needs attention every six months. So far, I am glad I purchased this rather expensive unit as it seems efficient and looks great in my house.

I got ill on vacation and it turned into Bronchitis and the coughing was terrible. I also have allergies/asthma which during this time of year (summer) is terrible. I put my Molekule next to my bed and I noticed that by morning my lungs were clearer and I slept through the night without waking and coughing. I'm better now and I still keep it by my bed at night. I sleep better because I breathe better. Thank you Molekule. Well worth the cost and I've tried everything on the market.

I have a severe allergy to pollen and to my dog. I could never give up my sweet dog or walking outdoors and I don't have to, I can retreat to the room where I keep my Molekule and breathe easier. I have noticed I don't wake up stuffy, needing to blow my nose, and my eyes aren't so puffy. I almost died from an allergic reaction to pollen and knew we had to do something so I could enjoy life without significant worry. That's why we decided to buy the Molekule. Quality of life was worth the price, if it worked. And boy did it work! I know I always have a room where I can breathe and get away from the things in the air that bother me. And my husband has stopped snoring! That was worth getting it all by itself!

This filter works perfectly.
I bought this primarily to get rid of cooking smell, especially during winter in NE when windows are all closed.
Then we realized it just is perfect, clean air, no smell, smart device, controlled through an app.
We love this!

We purchased our Molekule a month ago because we live in smog-heavy SLC, Utah and our daughter has asthma. We feel the air is more crisp after running the Molekule, and use it across multiple rooms throughout each day. Glad we have this to help alleviate our seasonal allergy symptoms as well. It's also aesthetically appealing!

We initially bought the Molecule to reduce kitchen odors. Our kitchen is in the center of our open-plan home, but unfortunately wasn't designed with adequate ventilation. The Molecule has absolutely made a difference with home odors, as well as keeping the entire main floor free of dust and other pollutants. We also have a small dog, and I've noticed it helps with pet dander as well. But, the added bonus is this: at night we move the easily portable Molecule into our daughter's room. She USED to suffer from a blocked sinuses at night, and she USED to use nose-strips to help. The Molecule has completely eliminated her symptoms and she breathes and sleeps 100% better.

My review is more about how my boyfriend views Molekule. I have 3 dogs, 4 cats, and love leaving my windows open. He's has asthma, allergies, and smells every little thing in the air. Great match, right? I got the Molekule to see if there was any way to help at least his asthma and allergies, and I did my usual ton of research. Read everything. MOLEKULE WORKS. I rotate the unit from the main living area back to the bedrooms, and the air is so much cleaner. I didn't expect that I would notice (pets do that to you over time), but I did!

Get one. I know it's expensive. But it's worth it. I know how much easier my BF breathes, how clean the air is, and how even Southern pollen is kept at bay.

This is one product where you SHOULD believe the hype! I cannot get over what a difference this product has made in my home. My quality of life is so much improved. I no longer smell any odor from the 3 dogs and 1 cat in my house and the pet hair flying around is reduced as well. We even had a major challenge at one point when we needed to place 3 cats in our garage for a time. They were not very good about using the litter box but even if they had- the garage quickly smelled like a sewer. I place the Molekule out there on Boost overnight and with no other changes, the smell was gone. It was unbelievable how well this worked.

While the device was in the garage I noticed that my seasonal allergies were going crazy. I was able to move it back into the house and now not only is all of the pet smells and hair gone/reduced, my allergies are almost non-existent! I cannot say enough how pleased I am with this purifier! Highly, highly recommended!

With all the wet weather there seemed to be a lot of mold in the air. For the first time in my life my doctor said I may have asthma. I thought that was crazy. I am almost 67 years old but suffered until I purchased the Molekule air filter. I am starting to feel like my old self after a year of breathing problems. I only wish I could afford another one! I carry this to every room I am in. It works like a charm. I love it.
