As I had been in a break from photography world, I would like to close my account on their site and stop the recurring billing charges.
I had emailed their customer service to close my account and stop the recurring billing on 11 September 2016. And they did promptly respond to my email and told me that they were sorry to hear that and that they had closed my account as well as stopping the recurring billing charges.
I was surprised when I received my monthly credit card billing. There was still a transaction from One Model Place with the same amount as usual.
I mean what is this? A total scam!
I wrote to them again right away.
And until now they haven't got back to me again.
To all people that are working or love the photography world, my suggestion is to stay away from this website.
- Don't Trust This Website Its Full Of Scammers. Don't Give Your Address Out To Nobody Don't Let Them Send You A Check Its Fake I Repeat Its A Fake Check
Although I give them credit on a site that actually works and looks decent, I have to say that I wasted money on these guys. I didn't receive any 'likes' and was hardly ever viewed by anyone even though my photography is actually good. In fact, I'm very confident that my work is great and that I do quality work. And the photographers that did check out my profile were mainly the ones that don't know how to photograph and do mostly nude photos. The models that contacted me are mostly inexperienced or shouldn't model at all. Its sad because I thought this site was actually going to help get me some exposure. When I called to cancel my account, the young lady sounded really $#*!y. And you would think that any company who is losing a customer would ask why you're canceling or if they could do something to keep you on their service. But there was this cold tone of voice over the phone. No big loss, however, its not a good website at all.
There is nothing that disgusts me more than a site that wants nude, artistic nude, and lingerie models but draws lines on other sexuality. Either be a completely non-sexual site or allow all sexuality. My profile was removed because rope=bondage and I was told to please "google artistic nude photography"
I am a Model photographer located in CT. I was a member of OMP.com, then they sold the site to someone else and I was not getting good vibs and answers from them so I quit them. After about 6 months i decided to sign back in with them to get my old photos up. And in need of Models, asked and checked new models in my state, searched and there were 186 models in CT. But,... when I checked them, there were really very few, and out of them all, the dates on when these models joined go back to 2010. Very few new models. Site is DEAD, don't sign up with them.
Well what can I say? Oh I found a photogher who was still in school and needed someone who needed some to volenteer to let him take pictures for his school test.So we got toghether and I got my headshots done for free. So this website is really awesome.
My girlfriend used this website to get some really good freelance work in our area. I took some shoddy photos and then she posted them online and despite my poor technique she got a few cheap gigs. Then she used those photos to get more gigs.
Nice place to score hot models on a dime. Some are flaky so don't plan an expensive shoot around these models. My experience is it is best to meet them first and make sure they look like their photos and see what you have to work with.
Everything you need to know for glamour photography - About 6 months ago, I posted on this website and was wondering how good it was for an aspiring glamour/model photographer. After getting some feedback, I joined model and photographer community. In the past 6 months, I learned pretty much everything I needed to learn about glamour photography from this site. (I was already a model, so I did have that experience).
I learned the basics of digital glamour photography from their online archived newsletters as well as their recommended books and I even attended one of their workshops in LA which was amazing. I also got a chance to network at their OMP parties and met a few great models that did TFP to get my portfolio started. I took their nude photography class and got comfortable taking photos of nude models. There are not many places where you can easily find nude models that are legitimate and I found many on here both male and female that worked out great and enhanced my portfolio.
The only drawback is not all of the models are current and you really need to make sure the models are 100% committed. Most of these models are part time and as such they have other jobs and committments, so they have often cancelled on me. But overall it has been great to have found this website.
For about 7 bucks a month, this has been the greatest thing to get me started in glamour/model photography.
Answer: You will need a parent/guardian to help sign a "Modeling Release" with the photographer to protect your rights and the rights of the photographer. Be sure to never shoot alone so as to protect yourself (and the photographer). From that point be ready to do unpaid, minor paid or you paying a photographer for modeling work. As you are just starting, you will need a professional starting portfolio before you may get any paid work, however, the stipulations are based upon what a photographer needs or wants. (ie: photographer needs a specific ethnicity, height; updated portfolio; may want to do an photograph different from his normal work). Hope this helps.
