The overall reputation of the company reflects significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its customer service and support. Many reviews highlight frustrations with delayed transactions, ineffective resolution of disputes, and a lack of proactive communication. Customers frequently report feeling unsupported in cases of fraud or issues with received goods. However, some positive sentiments emerge, particularly regarding the perceived reliability of PayPal as a payment method for certain transactions, which customers associate with enhanced buyer protection. Despite this, the overwhelming trend indicates a critical need for improvement in customer service responsiveness and dispute resolution processes.

For buyers paypal is great. For sellers, paypal will hold your funds, close your account for no reason, and keep your money for up to 6 months! Seller beware!
Always sides on the customers side with eBay. Not good for the seller because they are alot of scams on eBay. You state the return policy of 7 days then 30 days latter customer return through Paypal. This is not fair.
I got my account limited 3 times and I got like a permanent suspension. Now I'm back with them after I sent tons of documents and faxes.
Fine company but I wish they'll have a strong competitor in near future.

Very buyer friendly... But also needs to check on the protection of sellers as well... The protection should be equal since it is the seller who brings them more money...
Great site, helps me pay on places I don't trust 100%, and is a nice way of getting paid quickly or from people that are bad when it comes to paying. You send them a request for money and they don't have an excuse, they can even pay with their credit card. No more "the check is in the mail" or "I will go to the bank to deposit tomorrow"
They are very secure. I was scammed on a sale on ebay, user payed by paypal, but later claimed the money back once the packet was there.
The claim was filed, and i never had a problem.
I've never had a problem with them, the money is alway available when they say it will be.
I like the sercurity feature they have for new seller accounts whereby the hold the monies for a month, to make sure that you're a genuine seller and not a scam artist.
I have been using PayPal for over three and a half years to this date, I have been limited two times but nothing else. If you are using PayPal JUST for Ebay alone, I would highly recommend using it, but if you are a direct seller using PayPal for your website maybe for Membership upgrade or something such as that, you might want to avoid using PayPal. Due to the fact that you can not provide proof if you get limited or they want more information about your transactions, because you are selling "services" or such.
I just got hacked. There was an unauthorized transaction for $20 to a company called tornadocard.com. I know this isn't much, but paypal is linked to my checking account which has a lot of my valuable information. I was also on hold for at least 30 minutes with paypal customer service being bounced around to different departments, and they still couldn't give me a straight answer!
I expected more out of their security and the knowledge of their support reps. Chase bank now has a payment center similar to paypal, I'm going to start using that.
I would still recommend Paypal. Although there are times when questions are answered after a little over a day. =( Still, one of the best way for businesses like me to get paid easily.
At first I though paypal was a neat idea. It doesn't take long to set up and if you link your bank account it usually take a few days and you're ready to go. However some transactions you make over a few hundred dollars might suspend or freeze your account, even if you have made those transactions all the time. I feel like paypal trys to hard to be a bank but operates semi-unprofessionally.
Paypal just limited my account again! They had this coming, I sell on ebay and I even have only 100% positive feedback, my customers love me but yet yesterday my account was limited because "A customer complained that they did not receive their item". I called and told them that all of my customers had already left positive feedback, they told me that they would look into it.
I don't get PayPal, I mean they are cool sometimes because it is easy to get paid through them but they give you headaches! This is the third time they are blocking my account for no just reason. The last time, they foolishly charged my bank account twice for an eBay fee that I had already paid. They make too much mistakes for a company that handles people's money.
This is not a review, i know,
This is a warning to all website's owners with paypal "Buy/Pay button"
There is a failure in your website site script and the "exploit" is very simple!
Just google "Bypass Paypal Payments" and you'll see that is true and working.
That allows peoples to dowload your softwares/ebooks without paying!
This concern websites with simple Pay/Buy buttons.
(and required javascript-enabled-browser)
If you have one of this site, change the checkout method! Or get scammed...
(Now you see why i am checking my paypal account every day...)

The sites customer service is awesome and the usefulness of this website is priceless but disputes take over 2 weeks! By then most people have to pay bills and how are they suppose to pay them a dispute takes that long. Also this is not paypal's fault but it includes them, since internet fraud is literally everywhere now most websites switch to only way you can pay is through paypal, and to get a certain amount you NEED a verified paypal account, where you have ALL of your credit card info. And bank account linked, and also almost 100% approval of purchases, would that make you nervous? Well this happened to me, "friend" got mad at me and this friend was pretty close to me so he knew my email and a close friend could nearly guess his own friends likely passwords, so he got into my paypal account and bought useless things that added up to 10 thousand dollars, no matter what paypal does, not even they can stop fraud.
There are a lot of mixed feelings when it comes to this website. I am on the fence about them. PROS - 1. The merchant doesn't get your credit card number/information so you won't get a surprise on your next credit card statement. 2. Paypal will look into resolving any issues with non-receipt items or item not as described (I've gotten back full refunds on a lot of items I was duped into buying mainly fraudulent sites.) 3. You can pay from either credit card or bank card. NOW the CONS - 1. FEES! Conversion rates will always be a bit off because that's one of the ways paypal makes money 2. You have to have $150 or more inorder NOT to be charged a withdrawl fee. 3. The process for determining the winner in a dispute can take upto 1 month maybe 2 so that means you'll have to wait so long to get back your money if you're lucky. All in all Paypal is pretty decent compared to some of the other sites out there and if you're smart you can use their site without being charged too much (just read their policies).
I have sent them about 15 msgs within 1 year everytime they send me a msg saying we will respond within 24-72 hours, and then nothing, or i ask to get a msg from a REAL PERSON and not an auto msg and always a auto msg, i have $400 in my frozen account and no1 wants to help me, i will never use these scumbags
PayPal announced recently that it has over 100 million active accounts. It is well-designed and secure. It supports AES-256 bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. It will also come up green in the URL bar showing the customer that it supports a very high level of encryption.
To confirm the identity of the page, make sure you type "https://www.paypal.com", then click the green bar and confirm it says "PayPal, Inc. Sane Jose, California, US".
PayPal is basically a digital wallet. PayPal believes that customers are giving up traditional payment methods such as cash and checks and turning to a more modern form of payment. In fact, PayPal believes that by 2015 digital currency will be accepted everywhere in the United States.
Contacted paypal to try and get a refund after shoesmallbaba did not send me my shoes. Paypal replied that they were closing out the dispute because the seller had provided proof of delivery. The scam is that when you order shoes from this company and they receive payment from paypal then they mail you a cheap 25 cent Christmas Winnie the Pooh mouse pad instead of your shoes so when the buyer complains to paypal about not receiving their merchandise these crooks whip out the delivery confirmation for the mouse pad and voila there is their proof. How many times has paypal bought this and still enabled them. I am closing my account with them because they obviously do business with fraudalent companies and aren't willing to make it right. Thank you Paypal!
Answer: I would not recommend PayPal to anyone for anything they're a joke of a business
Answer: Paypal will NOT be on your side if the item is not as described. I bought an item that was totally wrong, advertised as "handmade, hand quilted, made of brushed Kona cotton", picture was beautiful with wonderful quilting and vibrant colors and I was buying from a company from Texas. I received an item from Texas, not handmade, not hand quilted, not vibrant colors, not brushed cotton and it was just a picture printed on cheap polyester/nylon fabric. Hideous. I paid $99.90. Company first offered to refund $30, nope, still way too expensive for a cheap quilt that I wouldn't even use for my pets. Then said if I return the "quilt" to China at my expense they would refund the money. Cost to return? $70. Paypal agreed with this company, denied my claim and I'm sitting here with something I would feel cheated if I paid $10. Paypal is not the company it once was. Use your credit card as that company will have your back. Looking to see what a better option is than Paypal. 20 year customer and I'm done. I do not think anyone actually reads our messages to Paypal.
Answer: They have become a money laundry scamming allowing company. Stay away at any cost.
Answer: USPS delievered it to the wrong address my pacakge was supposed to be delievered too 35710 Bay Morgan Ln, Fallbrook, CA 92028 when USPS delivered it to an address simillar to this one 12354 Alcatal Street (do not know the exact address since they did not email me, but you can call USPS and ask, and that is how I found out) Fallbrook, CA 92028, right city and zip code, far away address.
Answer: I'm thinking someone has to work there, if you send messages you will get a canned reply, I get the same response from 10 messages, basically "suck it up buttercup, you have just been played" but if you try to actually talk to a person good luck.
Answer: They dont. They wait for you to forget it. You get money back if you fill in a form after 180 days.
Answer: Do never send money to PayPal. That money is lost. This company has become a Giants money laundry company.
Answer: No there is not. PayPal protects scammers. Be sure to never use them.
Answer: It doesn't matter if you report them or not PayPal won't do nothing about it they continued to let the scammers operate on their site and do not protect consumers
Answer: SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THAT LOT, THEY CLAIM TO REFUND AMOUNTS PAID FOR ITEMS THAT DO NOT ARRIVE THATS "BS" I HAVE HAD 3 SUCH CLAIMS FROM 14 TRANSACTIONS AND HAVE NEVER GOT A REFUND DESPITE THEIR CLAIMS, THEY ARE CROOKS, FULL STOP, KEEP WELL CLEAR OF THEM.
