The overall reputation of Plenty of Fish (POF) is largely negative, with customers expressing significant dissatisfaction regarding the quality of profiles and user interactions. Common concerns include a high prevalence of fake profiles, rudeness, and entitlement among users, particularly women, who are perceived as unrealistic in their dating expectations. Many reviews highlight poor customer service, including issues with account management and a lack of effective support. While some users acknowledge the site's potential for connecting singles, the overwhelming sentiment suggests that POF has declined in quality and user experience, leading many to seek alternatives.

Well for a free and paid dating site this site is not bad at all. The old saying goes you get what you pay for. I have met allot of great ladies from this site and do not regret it at all. The only thing that would make this site a 5 is they pay for the first date. Lol
I'm not the most avid user of dating sites, however I knew plenty of people that admitted to having profiles on pof, so I thought the site must be on the level. Now I'm not going to rave about it or anything but it's definitely a legitimate site and I can profess to meeting some normal local girls though it. I think some people assume just because they have no messages, the site must be a scam filled with bots. You definitely need to be forceful and send plenty of (respectable) messages but there are real women who will eventually respond.
A lot of people use this site to hook-up, and while that's fine, I would recommend that you say you're looking for someone to date (or something more long-term) regardless of whether it's exactly true. This is because it seems most women regardless of what they're looking for are a bit hesitant to message someone who explicitly says they just want to hook-up. It makes sense why they would be cautious in this respect and it has the added benefit of making you seem less pervy.
Joined this website approx in 2010-2011. No inbox replies from any women. Found out this site is a scam to generate money. I deleted my account 2012. Profile is still on their site. Please avoid this website. Bye!
Actually out of all the free sites, I invariably had the most success there. Awesome for hooking up. Without sounding like a total pig, I think I banged at least five girls within the first two dates on this site. Seriously.
A great, free dating site. I have heard from lady friends who said that guys send them messages to hook up for sex instead of for a date but you'll have that. Just use caution.
This site has a good database of people and is fairly easy to meet people. Like any dating website always a few weirdos and time wasters plus the usual more guys than girls. However I have met numerous women off it as have my friends.
I have normally found a delay with this site, e.g. you start posting day one and then week 2-3 later lots of replies come back and you are back to the position of not remembering who the hell you are talking to...
Note, this site is much bigger in the UK than it is in the USA (relatively). So for a UK person I would recommend it, while non USA perhaps not. This is the opposite of OK Cupid which is big stateside but not so much in the UK
Pof is Free say no more always has been and prob always will be
Yes it has advertising how do you expect them to make money off a FREE site?
The site has average people not super models as some people expect cant believe some peoples expectations
If you want a site full of super hot people looking to take their clothes off to you then go pay a crap load of cash to a site with fake profiles that will scam the backside off you or be normal and join pof!
If your looking for normal people and dont want to pay then pof is the one for you
This site must be labeled the new online meat market. There are a ton of people on here, but the quality of people is very lacking. Also, this site has so much online advertising going on it makes the site appear junky as hell. Lastly, this site and all its functionality use to be all free. However, at times some of the functionality still works at other times its blocked and you will need to upgrade your account which means pay money for the "extra" feature. This site is a complete waste of time. I think I only meet one person the entire time I was on the site.
Men stay away from this site.
It is moderated by man hating feminazis. A female sent me an abusive message and they didnt delete her account, but removed my pics because i was on a beach and had a bare torso. They allow pictures of women in their underwear though!
How does that work? This site is totally sexist and I hope someone drags them into court for sex discrimination and has them shut down
Good free site with real people but need to spend time on here to get to them but no2 of the free sites I would say worth joining.
I've read many reviews that are against POF and I concur with most but I'll reflect on that later. Firstly, I want to reply to one statement about the same photo appearing on ChristianMingle (etc.) and POF. This is typical. Most people are on more than once site at one time and usually favor a picture or two which they normally use (among extra pictures). The bone I'd like to pick is that POF removed accessibility to my profile (After I wrote them they replied that my profile was 'DELETED' for one or many reasons). However, it seems that my profile has resurfaced. I am, however, 'BLOCK' me from logging in to reply to responses and/or even login to view the such concerned profiles (perhaps POF has my IP address blocked?). Regardless, I cannot delete my profile for the life of me (this could cause problems if/when in a relationship). They have taken up ownership of my profile and pictures. I'd like to perform a class action suit against them because they are using my profile and pictures for their better gains while locking me out (I feel violated). The more members they have, they more marketing contracts -- which spells $$$. They may not like you but they WILL use your pictures -- especially if they are professional pictures (not fakes). I read a review where a guy said he sees and responds to many profiles with beautiful females but never hears back from them. Oddly enough I had the same experience on this and other sites. What explains it is what happened to me... most of these people are either banned and/or moved on with their lives YET cannot delete their profiles.
I met my boyfriend on this site. This site does not charge a fee and there is a bit of matching based on what you are looking for. I would say most people I've met on this site have been normal and sane decent people. They even have local social events. You can upload many pictures, write as much as you want. You can also set e-mail and chat settings so you don't have to talk to people that are looking for something you're not, even distance wise as well. I would definitely try it. I liked this site better than E-Harmony.
A bunch of scammers on here and they are trying to charge for seeing if massages are sent wouldnt reccomend it plus there are alot of fake profiles on there.
I have tried out a number of dating sites and find this one to be okay. It is free which is great; however, that seems to attract people who are not the serious type. In any case, I did meet a few people from this site and went on a number of dates. Needless to say, I'm still single and looking for Mr. Right.
I was a Member of this site- paid for 1 month, about $50, & they were not overly helpful, Strangely a site that they have dealings with called E VOW came on the screen & I found a good lady friend on this site & she rang me & Ive been in phone contact for a couple of months with her & she even came to my House & visited me & we are in phone contact wednesday & sundays on the phone because shes a nice lady & wants time to sort out things as she lives in a city about 2 hours from me. Even though that E Vow asked for money, I still was able to access her for a week or so without Cost, Now we Speak Via the Phone without bothering abut the site.
Ive been on here for over 3 years, Changed my ad(headline) at least 20+ times and pictures ive gotten maybe 4 people in 3 years i talked to period. I even went so far and put a header IS THERE ANYONE ALIVE ON THIS SITE?. REALLY i did get responses alot but met no one, everybodies a comedian. So far as many Millions of people that are on there and "FREE" you think you get a hit, NOPE, i not ugly just a big guy, girls/woman want weight lifters and big peckers a trophy to hang on there arms, No real men would ever work for them anyways, if they did they would not be on POF.
This is a somewhat difficult review because on one hand, Plenty of Fish fails as a dating site, but it definitely has potential in the FWB/hook-up/booty call area. I had a few friends try this website so I thought I'd give it a chance but... I noticed a pattern the very night I signed up. I asked myself, why are there so many creepos/pervs on here? And then I realized it's because it's free. Almost every other message is something obscene. (Not the case at all with other sites I've tried). In fact, I wouldn't even call this a dating site. I think the lesson learned is that if you want to meet a better quality of people, you're going to have to pay. If you want to be matched with people you are legitimately compatible with for the potential to find a meaningful relationship, this is not the site for you. I would imagine it would be great for those looking to hook up though.
My complaint of plenty of fish is that they do not allow you to keep the profile of your cheating spouse on the website when you have caught them on the site. I found out when I had a gut feeling that my husband was up to no good. I did a search on POF and found my husband's profile with his picture and I called him to confront him about it, he basically stated what I was going to do about it so I copied his picture and profile and created a duplicate profile of his and username that he had Zohan03 I made it Zohan02 and the headline read Ladies to Beware of this Cheater! I proceeded to write what I discovered and posted his information on there. He didn't have the decency to respect our marriage, himself or me and I thought this would be the best way to get back at him. I found out about him on 11-23-2011 and I posted a duplicate profile of him. He posted his picture on 8/19/2011 and had his profile up several months before with no picture. He thought he was being smart. On 12-20-2011 I found out the profile I created had been deleted. Plenty of Fish should allow a profile up on their site of a cheating spouse if the cheating spouse puts up a profile stating their single on their site. It is only fair and right, plus I know there is good sincere people looking for their future partner on that site and why should they become a victim of a scammer posing as a free single man who in essence is a married man. I am working on a class action lawsuit against Plenty of Fish and Markus for not allowing my profile up on this cheater. This should be part of the menu on their site if a spouse is caught on there. If this was a truly a respectable site, they should allow a post from the spouse who caught their cheating spouse on there! I would very much appreciate anyone who has caught their spouse on the site to contact me to put our heads together and get this feature on there. Accountability is necessary on these types of sites...
There are issues with this site
1. Scammers from army scammers and other types can be on this site
2. Technical Issues can also be with the site
3. Fake profiles can be on the site
Plenty of fish is more plenty of fraud at times instead
Answer: Oh yes, they want you to upgrade and pay! But when you pay you will see these profiles who you liked or who liked you disappear. They were nothing but bait-and-switch. You gain nothing when you pay, it's the silliest way to spend money. Are you looking for hook up or relationship? I wanted a relationship and I was really frustrated by Pof. Eventually I found what I was looking for on https://j4l.com/402007 But I've lost nearly a year on Pof. Not to mention emotional drain and money!
Answer: I just deactivated my account. This site is a sewer. Do not pay anything for this site or any site. I searched for free on other site( even paid ones you can search for free) and I saw the same guys on most of the other sites as well. I'm gonna grow old alone unless luck steps in and maybe I'll meet my guy IRL.
Answer: Yes its possible
Answer: Delete AND contact the company. If you know who took your pictures be sure to include the name on the profile that your pictures were used on, so they can deal with that person. Once you have deleted your profile, everything is GONE. I have never had anybody use my pictures on any other sites. I'm no great beauty, that could be the reason, Still, once your profile is deleted, everything is gone.
Answer: You cannot do it from the mobile site. You need to use your search, example safari and look up pof desktop version and go to the help in the top left. It will walk you thru it, if I remember correctly. Good luck
Answer: First, write to POF and explain. Now, and I mean NOW call up your credit card company and tell them what happened. I am sure POF will not contact you. Make sure to use the word "unacceptable" when describing the consumer service to the CC company about POF. Keep all emails too. Please keep me posted. Thanks Ann B.
Answer: STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMING SITE! Any good you hear from or about it... DUH ITS THE SCAMMERS THAT WORK FOR EM. I been booted so many times due to unpopularity cuz i wont date trash so i get booted they keep your money they are garbage
Answer: Fake doesn't really describe them... more like downright liars!
Answer: Golden rule #1: Do onto others as you would have them do unto you Golden rule #2: Anything that sounds to good to be true, is not. Golden rule #3: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Answer: POF is not free at all, you have to upgrade; become a paying member to be able to do anything interesting.
