The overall reputation of Plenty of Fish (POF) is largely negative, with customers expressing significant dissatisfaction regarding the quality of profiles and user interactions. Common concerns include a high prevalence of fake profiles, rudeness, and entitlement among users, particularly women, who are perceived as unrealistic in their dating expectations. Many reviews highlight poor customer service, including issues with account management and a lack of effective support. While some users acknowledge the site's potential for connecting singles, the overwhelming sentiment suggests that POF has declined in quality and user experience, leading many to seek alternatives.

I came on here to see if anybody thinks there are fake profiles. I feel like they are minimal, but definitely there. Either that, or girls are just EXTREMELY picky. Of course, that would explain why they're single in the first place.
I know it's not totally fake by any means, cause I've met 2 girls and gotten 3 other numbers from it. I just feel like I did with xxxmatch. We'll get a conversation going anad then they're done.
The "trashy" sites are getting to be more upfront and honest with issues like complaints about "members IM" and canceling account... you would not believe the obfuscation and the runaround! I don't think their "customer service" really exists. Just try to get something other than a robotic response that tells you nothing... keep away! If you get too mad or frustrated they will purposely send you a window that asks if you wan't to DELETE ACCOUNT AS OPPOSSED TO CANCEL SO THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOU AT ALL.(as stated by them). If you delete... we wil not let you back in EVER!
Good because its free, not for any other reason. If you just want to pick someone up, then its great. But not recommended for real relationships.
I seem to be batting a thousand when it comes to Dating sites, I've already gotten the boot from 2 or 3 and it seems as if I'll have two more notches to put on my belt.
My complaint about plentyoffish pretty much mirrors that of DateHookup.
When I first began my membership with PoF I immediately visited the forums. I chose the General b. S and wrote in response to a woman who was trying to get some creep that was text and Emailing her constantly, to stop. She said she didn't want to hurt his "feelings". I told her of the perfect way to not only make him cease and desist but would have him running for the hills. I recommended that she portray herself as stark raving mad. I told her to text him saying: I TOLD YOU TO STOP F#$KING SPYING ON ME! Yeah, that's right, you didn't think I saw you crawling from under my kitchen sink last night and peeking under my bedroom door. If you EVER follow me around Walmart again I'm going to grab me a Louisville slugger and bash your f*%&in head in, and so forth.
Well after I wrote that rather lengthy response and posted it a message popped up stating that because I was new my use of questionable language wasn't allowed and besides that I couldn't post anything until I had been a member for 7 days. I was proud of the restraint I had shown when I emailed them.
That restraint did a Jimmy Hoffa today. I was happily dispensing my sage advice(okay, okay mostly farcical and sardonic) to the lovelorn and just plain screwy when a message came on screen informing me that I was banned from posting for 3 DAYS! They claimed I had insulted a member by suggesting that maybe the problem wasn't with his girlfriend but perhaps he should consider that it's because he's an $#*!. I had written that 2 days before.
I almost tore the keys off my computer writing them a scathing diatribe that I'm sure has banished me forever.
I do have one good thing to say about PoF they do provide an Email address
Plentyoffish is a reasonable site. The people seem real (no bots and no fake profiles; many abandoned profiles) and everything is free.
However, compared to okcupid.com (which I like better), I have not managed to convince the women to chat/email with me.
Overall, I like okcupid.com better (OKC is also free, except for some advanced extras that I have not missed so far)
Used this site for some considerable time but decided it was best to remove my account after much trial and error and lack of messages, I'm not exactly a bad looking guy so to get hardly any messages back strikes me as abit odd as ive had more conversation and "luck" on sites that aren't even dating orientated, I say avoid this site at all costs its as fake as they come.
No good website for friends or dating, some scammers there, most of the ladies do not reply. And most of the ladies block guys for different reasons for which I have yet to figure out. Its a waste of time for guys I have kept a profile there for years now and have yet to meet a friendly lady.
My most favorite dating website, bar none! If only due to the fact that EVERYTHING IS COMPLETELY FREE! View profiles (And see who's viewed you); Add favorites; Send messages & Chat. It's all there, and it's all FREE! In my 4 years as a member of POF I've met with 20-30 different women, and dated 5. I even met my current girlfriend there soon after joining, but we didn't physically meet until months later. We've been together ever since!
A wonderful site, easy to navigate, and just fun!
I HIGHLY recommend it!

I've knocked 2 stars off of my original 5-star review, because the owner of PoF has apparently smelled MONEY and has started charging for a lot of features on the site which used to be free. You can still freely message people, and can freely read messages, but if you want to know whether someone has actually read the message that you sent you must have a paid membership. You also can no longer hide your profile unless you pay. Which makes no friggin' sense! Why would you PAY so that people can't see your profile?

Well, same as the others and also listed on a site as not a good site to look for friends or dates. I had the misfortune of being approaching through the chat by a man who felt I should enjoy his words of what he wanted to do to me when he met me. I hurried up and terminated my id on that site. Wow, crazy. That was it for me on any dating site.
I am so frustrated with Plenty of Fish. I cannot delete my account. It rejects my sign in then allows me to request password, then rejects my email address.
HELP!
Pof stands for Plenty of Fish. First and foremost is that it is free. The set up is a lot like match.com. Most metro areas have some sort of voluntary "facilitators" that put together periodic "meet ups" at local bars, etc. People sign up that they are going to attend so it gives you the opportunity to check out some of the people whose profiles you've viewed. Also good time for first meetings. I would recommend it for people willing to try online dating for the first time.
This site is free and allows you to communicate with beautiful girls for free instead of being drained of your life savings by amolatina.com, anastasia.com and their sister mafia run sites. Everyone should spread the word, let amolatina and her sister sites know that they better change their business model or go out of business. They are ruining the chances of these ladies meeting a successful man and getting out of their starving countries with the incredible greed of the mafia run websites.
Plenty of Fish is a great free dating website. I am not a fan of paying monthly fees to try to find someone to date me. POF is a great place to meet all kinds of different people. There is nothing negative I can say about the website. The only thing I can say is whenever you are meeting strangers online to use caution. Plenty of Fish as a site=awesome... meeting strangers from online=potentially dangerous. So whenever using any online dating website becareful. Happy Fishing! :)
There are alot of dating websites out there, most of which you have to pay for in the hope of meeting some one. My friends have encouraged me to join several and most without any positive results.
I was introduced to Plenty of Fish and instantly fell in love with the site. You are constantly being shown new people every time you click any link so as to spend hours just looking at interesting profiles. I met a lot of the good, the bad and the crazy here. But really, that's the point. I was finally meeting people! And the best part is that it's free.
This is definately the best website I have used for online dating, and after many dates I found my current girlfriend. For those who are looking for love, this is a good place to start.
The ONLY FREE dating website on the internet
Every guy is sick N tired of paying for emails and having some spoiled brat of an Ameriskank reading them but never replying.
For every 100 emails you send, you will probably only get 1-4 responses, none of which will lead to a date.
Online dating for men is a waste of time, just get a plane ticket and fly over seas to someplace like China or Thailand because you will just get old & sick in some Feminist country that has turned all the woman into selfish brats who think 99.999% of all men are unworthy while they screw they're youth away with all the bad boys & thugs
At least with POF you won't get screwed financially by a lopsided dating scene.
This is a very good site, with an added bonus of being free. I joined it last year and ive had 5 dates off there, and made friends along the way which is nice. There are thousands of profiles on there, from all different countries, but im in the uk, so only browse the men in my own country. Not to say a long distance romance wouldnt be possible though!... There are no charges, no money upfront to pay, so i would most definately have no hesitation in recommending it... A +++
I have contacted this site on three different occassion via email. They still have yet to respond to my complaint. They are not only unethical, but I do believe they violate consumer law. My complaint against them is this: I went into my mailbox, underneath my picture was a caption that read "sexiest user". I am still receiving mail from them. I want to know if there is any other action I can take to get both "Singlesnet" & "Plentyoffish", removed as operating dating sites. They are unsafe!
I have just joined this site a few days ago and it is seems to be legit. I have already met a few girls on this site and had several contacts. This dating site is cheap and easy to use. The cost was only $29.00 for 3 months. I recomend this site for anyone looking to get the most bang for their buck.
I signed up for sitejabber specifically to complain about plentyoffish.com. In my opinion it is a horrible dating website especially with the other available options. Go to Okcupid.com instead. The user interface on POF is awful, I have to consciously avoid clicking on an add since there is not much differentiating actual content from the ads. Overall I understand there is a huge following on the site, but for me I just think I much rather be using something else.
I think this is a great website. I have been a member for many years and have not seen anything misleading about the site.
Answer: Oh yes, they want you to upgrade and pay! But when you pay you will see these profiles who you liked or who liked you disappear. They were nothing but bait-and-switch. You gain nothing when you pay, it's the silliest way to spend money. Are you looking for hook up or relationship? I wanted a relationship and I was really frustrated by Pof. Eventually I found what I was looking for on https://j4l.com/402007 But I've lost nearly a year on Pof. Not to mention emotional drain and money!
Answer: I just deactivated my account. This site is a sewer. Do not pay anything for this site or any site. I searched for free on other site( even paid ones you can search for free) and I saw the same guys on most of the other sites as well. I'm gonna grow old alone unless luck steps in and maybe I'll meet my guy IRL.
Answer: Yes its possible
Answer: Delete AND contact the company. If you know who took your pictures be sure to include the name on the profile that your pictures were used on, so they can deal with that person. Once you have deleted your profile, everything is GONE. I have never had anybody use my pictures on any other sites. I'm no great beauty, that could be the reason, Still, once your profile is deleted, everything is gone.
Answer: You cannot do it from the mobile site. You need to use your search, example safari and look up pof desktop version and go to the help in the top left. It will walk you thru it, if I remember correctly. Good luck
Answer: First, write to POF and explain. Now, and I mean NOW call up your credit card company and tell them what happened. I am sure POF will not contact you. Make sure to use the word "unacceptable" when describing the consumer service to the CC company about POF. Keep all emails too. Please keep me posted. Thanks Ann B.
Answer: STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMING SITE! Any good you hear from or about it... DUH ITS THE SCAMMERS THAT WORK FOR EM. I been booted so many times due to unpopularity cuz i wont date trash so i get booted they keep your money they are garbage
Answer: Fake doesn't really describe them... more like downright liars!
Answer: Golden rule #1: Do onto others as you would have them do unto you Golden rule #2: Anything that sounds to good to be true, is not. Golden rule #3: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Answer: POF is not free at all, you have to upgrade; become a paying member to be able to do anything interesting.
