Reverbnation is a great place for bands and such to upload their music. A very easy website. I love Reverb. This site makes it easy to listen and share with social media all of your bands music/
After doing many crowd reviews on reverbnation, the reviews are obviously fake.
ALL of my songs are INSTRUMENTALS, yet many of the so-called crown reviews compliment or criticize the VOCALS and LYRICS?! Now how is that possible when ALL OF MY MUSIC HAS NO VOCALS AT ALL?! And after researching the web, I found TONS of SCAM and RIPOFF reports about Reverberation, even info about them being banned from operating in the United States! YIKES!
My account has been in the number one spot on their site for a long time locally, regionally, and bounces around the #2 to # 5 spots nationally (USA) yet, even after all the opportunity submissions, ZERO return on all my efforts. Now I know its hard to compete etc, but how am I #1 then? OBVIOUS SCAM. (see sample photo I have posted here showing some of the reviews about my vocals (which don't exist lol) This pic is a literal screen capture from their site.
Stay away from them, promote yourself where everyone is at on youtube instead.
I am a band a manager and concert organizer that i search for bands to play in concerts i create, one artist turned out to be 100% fraudulent i did my home work and before i hired him found not one claim was factual. My emails and voice mail are ignored. By the company all i get is you are in status cue 2 as on hold for sometime then leave a message and will call you back, not one of my say 5 calls returned nor answered, i think it a at home company with a husband and wife team. I was nearly taken by the "artist" his claims were just way too much to believe and my hunches proved right, be careful..
I've had my account for two weeks now then suddenly in one day my fan base grew to 30 members. But when I look back at my actual song plays it only recorded 17 plays. Now how can you have fans that haven't even listened to your music? The fan base members that I supposedly have aren't even in the same genre not even close. This simple observation has proven that there is an algorithm involved to make you the artist believe that you have fans so that they may encourage you to purchase packages to promote you're worthless music.
Pay $9.95 a month for a couple of years now, never really received any from them, just notices to submit to major record label. I link my website, facebook, twitter, and CD Baby, what reverbnation gives you a place you can put a couple of your songs from your CD on it, a place for people to hear the whole song, and if they want to buy it they can, recomend you put your CD on tunecore, or CD baby, then connect it to reverbnation, put a couple of songs on it, and a couple of videos from youtube, also connect your website to it, the bad thing is there's so many people on it, all the offer they give you, can be taken up, fast, and your left out in the cold, i stopped expecting anything from them, just use them for what i can, what i do is when i get an offer from a major record lable, i use it for my benefit, and link it to my facebook, and twitter
Copyright infringement! I must have sent them to spam (so many emails!) and this got me locked out of my account. I've been trying to get back in for a monrh, but they can't or won't help me. Basically, they've taken complete control of my intellectual property without alliwing me access to it. Ridiculous. I have to get a lawyer for something this stupid.
REVERBNATION IS MORE THEN JUST A MUSICIANS PLATFORM. ITS A PLACE FOR REAL ARTIST TO BE HEARD AND SEEN... NOT BY PEOPLE WHO DONT CARE... BUT BY OTHERS LIKE ME WHO ENJOY UPLOADING THERE MUSIC... EXPRESSING ONES LIFE IS CRAZY... WHRN YOU BEEN THROUGH HELL..
Collaborating with other artist is great Artists work hard to build their online Reverb music account some take years and have over a hundred tracks.
In other word the artist build, promote the reverb site with their own musical product the artist being the life blood of the ReverbNation site.
They are rewarded with promotion, and credit card scams which why you should never give Reverb your credit card they wait a year and then steal when you are not looking. Sure Reverb understands this is wrong which why they created the "Artist First" after they were caught stealing and adding unauthorized charges on artist accounts.
The artist that noticed and reported the card theft were unlocked out of their fan and music site and told if they accepted the fraudulent charges and withdrew their complaints the could be unlocked.
Extortion? You decide this is a real locked out Artist conversation with Reverbnation:
Hay Reverb my account is locked.
ReverbNation's shocking response: Did you, at any point, contact your bank (or Pay Pal) to claim that charges from ReverbNation were unauthorized? If so, this is considered a "charge-back", and once we receive notice of a charge-back we must suspend the profile from which the charges came. In order to get your account back active, you must reach out to your bank (or Pay Pal) in the same fashion as you did when filing the charge-back, and let them know that the charges were NOT unauthorized.

Wow!
I would advise not to pay reverbnation any money for promotion or to improve your ranking etc. This site is mainly used by musicians and its a great plave to hear what the world is doing. Their artist rankings are total fabrication and are used as a means of scamming your money. Look at the the artists ahead of you and more often you will see that their pages are dormant, with no plays or fans, likes etc. they are the people that are paying and there is the answer. No one is listening as their promotion is pure fabrication. On the upside I've met some great artists and worked on some cool collaborations. If you are singer or in a band get yourself a website and spend a little on getting a decent video and putting it on youtube
I have been the #1 alternative rock artist in Los Angeles for over 6 months on Reverbnation. Whats that mean? Nothing.
My name is Chris Thornton and I am an intellectual property attorney in St. Louis, Missouri. I would be very interested to hear about your experiences with Reverbnation. If you are interested please contact me at *******@cathornton.com.
I had an offer for a 3 day ''free'' trial to receive promotion for a new music video. After the 3 days there would be a charge, so I unsubscribed from the service 2 days before the paid renewal. And those lovely people charged me for the ''''free''''' trial. Even worse I got ZERO results from the so called ''campaign''. Not even a single view! This is a site designed to steal what little money musicians make these days and their features and 'tools' don't work in the slightest. You've been warned. You are a billion times better off paying that money advertising on youtube or facebook. At least there you'll see some results.
They just do not mean anything and pulled from Slicethepie. As a reviewer myself at Slicethepie I know that there is a time limit of 90 seconds to listen to a song. Then they have to review it with the most sophisticated words they can use in order to make more cents for one review. Actually it doesnt matter "what" they are writing as long the system is catching the programmed words. I was so stupid to pay for 5 song reviews twice. 2 and 3 songs. I did not read the last review anymore as I got upset like hell. The "reviewer" (guess there are only a few real musicians) writing rude, nasty, weird and disrespectful to your hard work. Its seems some of them really do not get the point of ART which sometimes CAN be out of the norm. I am a musician with 40 years experience. As a 80th child and producing music such like that but with quality. To produce old school music does not automatically mean its bad, so why they are giving low rates only the music is a kinda outdated? To be honest I really HATE that I joined and I hate them for making money from artists. Its a money machine. Not for us artist, no, for them indeed! I still have the account but cancelled all money related features! Do the same, its better for your wallet!
Reverbnation is a sneaky f**k. Signed up for a month of free membership. All crap news you receive to your email, BUT EXPIRATION OF FREE MEMBERSHIP they don't send to make sure they charge you.
Trust and loyalty. Two things ReverbNation have forgotten. I was disappointed to log into my ReverbNation account to see many of my songs had disappeared. I realised I could no longer load new songs above a certain size. It appears ReverbNation requires more money to host material and that's where our relationship ends. Having been loyal to the site, paying for features and privileges over the years the least I expected were the goalposts to remain the same, I didn't receive any warning or notifications of changes. Now everything has changed. From now on ally my material will be withdrawn including all links and I'll be warning artists of ReverbNation and their clinical ways. It's a shame because the site had potential but as we shortly move into 2016 there are infinitely better sites out there for artists, my fear for you is that the site will go the same way as MySpace. Poor show guys.
Horrible horrible horrible waste of money - scammers, thieves and liars!
DON'T DO IT WHATEVER YOU DO!
I signed up with them for my album to be distributed. I paid them like $50. But it turned out they like to be paid for the Same Distribution Job Over and Over every year. They didn't tell me that and than Deleted My Album. They Play favorites with their Publishing Deals which are Music for Films, Video Games and more. I even bought almost 6 months of their Gigs Service. But I later found out they have Millions of Musicians. So only a few people get those opportunities... It is a Scam... horrible. I wasted like 8 years with them. And I am still an unknown artist..
When I first registered I did so as a "Studio" then found out I couldn't upload music unless I made an artist account as well. I did so & they kept pushing to promote my music. So, I signed up for the free trial. I then cancelled the trial within the given time frame. Well, apparently it "didn't go through" so I was charged $35. I was "credited" the $35 to use only on reverb nation. I highly disapprove of this website! It's not only a waste of time & effort but they steal your money! DON"T USE REVERBNATION!
I am not sure what they really are offering artist. Anyone can google "submit music" and find plenty of places to submit their music to free. When you use the email venue feature nobody opens it unless they are familiar with you and have booked you before, and in that case you don't need to contact them through the site.
This site is nothing more than a bait and switch holding out free submission opportunities and then requiring sign up to paid services. Sure it's a free trial period but they should offer it without requiring credit card information. If it's really a valuable service you'll subscribe and pay. All this does is give the impression that they're afraid you won't feel it's worth the money and they probably make a decent amount just from people who forget to cancel.
Answer: Stay far far away from this site...
Answer: Another classic example of them playing games with users. It used to be there was no file size not allowed. Then they allowed it but required a monthly fee - via their plans which are a joke - to upload larger higher quality files.
Answer: Only if you want to loose money. They will gladly take your money but you won't see any result from it.
Answer: Good question. I don't think this happens from experience. My first release was with Reverbnation, a single which bafflingly was released as an album for $19.99 or whatever it cost. Possibly my fault, didn't hurt me as an artist though as my 1 album single was on iheartradio, spotify and itunes and many other distributers I wouldn't have picked. I since learned about the $1 singles so have made a few releases with that for reverbnation - I've pulled a few singles on Reverbnation and Tunecore and have never received a refund of any kind, nor would I expect to. Reverbnation do credit the money back if you pull the release pre-distribution I know that. Maybe try routenote, I release a lot with them on there 'free' model they do take a cut of the royalties though on that plan - I like that flexibility though to be able to pull and re-release tracks.
Answer: As the reviews here warn, RN isn't interested in maintaining a reputation for integrity, As long as they get your money, the future be damned.
