This was our first time flying with this airline. We booked our flight with Ryanair because they had great flight prices. UNTIL we get to the airport and I try to explain how the system wouldn't let me check in and I tried several times. There was a family next to me that had the same Issue as we did. They said since I didn't check in i have to pay 55 dollars per person. And also 20 dollars per carry on. They do this tattic/scam to sneak a way to rip their costumers off. Even the flight check in people were so rude. We will never fly with Ryan air again!

As long as I live I will never EVER fly with Ryanair again. I have tried to contact Ryanair by phone, livechat and email for the past two weeks with no response. I rang customer care THIRTY TIMES this morning before I finally got through and put on hold for one hour. I spent €20 credit in that one hour and topped up an additional €20 while I was waiting. I have tried to change my flights through the Manage My Booking option on the website and app, I have used my iPhone, laptop and three different computers with multiple different browsers such as Firefox, safari and google. I can select the new flights but it won't let me continue to the payment. My friend also tried to make this change on her iPad and had the same problem. I rang customer care and was told it was an additional €200 fee to change our flights over the phone comparing to the €280 it costs to do it on the website (it will not work for me), that's a total of €480 to change our flights over the phone. The customer care agent was an absolute waste of time, she told me it was a problem on my computer and she couldn't do anything even though I tried multiple devices and browsers. I work in an office with a highly sophisticated IT Department, I asked them to try and change my flights for me and they too could not do it or figure out why it wasn't working. I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and was put on hold for an additional 10minutes. I was then told she did not get authorization to put me through to a manager or supervisor. I am a paying customer of Ryanair and I'm absolutely disgusted my the service they have provided.

Awful Company
February 3, 2021

Their unfortunate "Jab and Go" ad campaign struck a chord. Yet another strike against this morally corrupt company.

I made a promise 2 years ago that I'd never fly with RyanAir again and I intend to keep it.

I booked and paid for 3 sets of flights for myself and 2 family members. Then, I end up needing to go to hospital on the weekend that the flights were happening. The flights wouldn't be for another two months, so I fill out their form that claims to refund in the event of serious illness. My situation was that. I needed this surgery and it was going to be happening. At the time, I had heard that RyanAir are very bad at refunding or giving vouchers if you need to cancel flights, but I thought I'd chance it since the form was there.

The reply I got back was just terrible. I am not exaggerating. The cretin who responded to my email treated me like I was the kid with glasses in a schoolyard full of bullies. "You will not get refunded or a voucher under any circumstances. We never give refunds." She went on to write two full paragraphs that felt like she was belittling me for having the cheek to fill out that form. I felt upset because I was already emotionally vulnerable because I was dreading what was going on in my life. So I send her a reply asking her why she felt the need to be so rude, and she could have just said "sorry, we can't give you a voucher or refund" and leave it at that. Why make someone feel so small.

Instead of answering my question she responds saying "there is no way that you are getting a refund, so there is no point in sending more messages." Seriously, what on Earth?

So I email her back saying that I did not ask again for a refund, I was addressing her rudeness. I said that I would never fly with RyanAir ever again. I know O'Leary says that people say this, then fly with them again. I won't and haven't. It's been a couple of years...

Given the attitude of the woman via email, I would rather fly with Aer Lingus from now on. I've flown with them a few times already and they're honestly much nicer to deal with, and they don't treat their customers like begging scum.

Appalling customer service. Outrageous company policy. Useless Airline. Strongly recommend you avoid this company

This Company more or less stole my money. I bought a ticket with them to go to Lanzarote hen the cover lockdown happened and despite the fact that I only bought the ticket because they offered that you could change your ticket for free they refused to do this and I have lost all my money.

I'd recommend using this company only in case of a very tight budget. Once the staff nearly denied the boarding because my carryon was "beyond the established size limits" as they said without even measuring it. Another unfortunate occurrence was on board when I was coming home from vacation with an emptied purse. I asked for a bottle of water or at least a glass, but they refused to accept coins, even though I didn't have any paper money. I had to bear a terrible thirst for the long 5 hours. I understand this is their policy, but there could always be an exception. It was an emergency for me. They would let a passenger die but would not break their rules. Anyways, I put 3 stars for I suppose it's a matter of a human factor. My other flights with RyanAir were not that painful.

I had the plane tickets bought for my whole family with Ryanair but the day of our departure to Italy Ryanair's staff denied the boarding the plane for a supposed lack of visa to visit Italy. These people are totally uninformed and acted arbitrarily, taking the rights of an embassy or consulate, demanding documents that are not necessary. I had to buy the plane tickets again for my whole family and fly with another airline, untill today i didn't not received any response from them. The entire Latino community is threatened by this airline that acts arbitrarily against its passengers and their families. I will do everything necessary to enforce my rights.

I had a awful experience with Ryanair. My 2 daughters and I were flying from Rome to Dublin on August 6. I am out 150 euros because their website did not allow me to check in online. I tried and tried and tried to check in for over an hour the day before our flight. I logged into my account, selected our flight and then I would click on the check in button and then there would be a blank white page. There was nothing on the page, so after my 4th attempt I thought I must be checked in already. When we got to the airport, we found that not only we were not checked in but I now owed 50 euros per person because of my failure to check in 2 or 12 hours beforehand (we got different information). But I MADE EVERY ATTEMPT TO CHECK IN A FULL 24 HOURS. So the explanation I received as to why I was unable to check in online was because I had yet to enter our profile information. This was a total surprise to me because I know I entered our passenger information and don't remember being asked for more information (i. E. passport number, nationality... etc.) The big question is why was this not explained on the website? Why was I sent to a blank page and not to a page that told me that Ryanair needed more information in order for me to check my daughters and myself in? I seriously tried four times to check in and everything time I got this blank page--so frustrating.

A terrible customer service on the ground and on boarding. They seem to make every effort to make flying a miserable experience.
Ryanair seem to have a new policy of seating groups apart, presumably in an effort to get people to pay to select seats. I feel that this will prove dangerous in the event of an emergency as passengers will try to get to family members before moving to exits.
We were left herded in holding areas outside the terminal building for half an hour without explanation.

Even after booking 'special assistance' we were split up on the plane so that my disabled mother was allocated seating next to complete strangers. My father was 20 rows back! We had to ask people to move. My mum also had to wait on the runway prior to boarding the plane and was asked if she could walk up the steps so that they didn't have to bring the lift. This is despite me being very clear about the 'special assistance' required' when booking the flight.

I complained to customer service after the flight and was brushed off. Basically they said it was my fault for not requesting correct assistance when booking the flight despite email confirmation at the time that I had done this. I have complained again to say this response is simply not good enough and reiterated my particular concerns, namely that:

1.) I booked special assistance online and completed that request as fully as possible - I have the email confirmation - yet this was not acted upon

2.) I confirmed this at the special assistance desk at Stansted when we arrived yet no lift was provided to access the aircraft

3.) Keeping my mother outside waiting on the runway for the lift in the rain was not acceptable!

4.) The separate seating issue was not acceptable and broaches Ryanair's own policy for special assistance

5.) The lack of support, such as a helping hand to take my mother to her seat given all walking aids had been removed, was insensitive and unhelpful

The caused my mum undue stress, had a detrimental effect on her dignity and was very upsetting for us all

I am not hopeful about receiving a satisfactory reply.

We are deeply distressed that an institutional company like ryanair is delaying more than 3 hours and even in this case we have not received any response for 8 hours and our problem has not been resolved. We are hesitant to choose this company. Besides the reservation fee and all the costs of our canceled tour, we can not get back even the price of the plane ticket we bought from ryanair. During this process we have sent to ryanair a lot of emails and we have not received any response.

I handed my hand luggage to an attendant at the foot of the plane steps. It had to go in the hold as the overhead storage was full inside. I watched it go straight to the hold
On retrieval I went home and yes..., it had been opened and £200 of property was missing
Ryan Air say sent me one letter, 4 lines saying nothing to do with them Manchester Airport are responsible
Manchester Airport said twice in lengthy letters they do not unload planes the carriers agents do.Its clear to me Ryan Air do.
The real concern is that if someone can steal in full view of their work mates and there are no spot searches what is to stop them putting something in your luggage. A bomb or if you are lucky drugs, so you only get arrested if caught at the other end, not blown up
Ryan Air arent cheap and Manchester Airport UK, is not safe

Absolutely DO NOT fly with this airline. For the sake of standing up against dishonest businesses, boycott such airlines. Google flights will help you find affordable prices with other reputable airlines through the year.

I am an avid traveler and have been traveling around the world since I was born, pretty much. I've grown accustomed to what to expect from good and bad airlines. When I traveled around Europe this time I did not know the notorious reputation that Ryanair had for ripping its customers off. Remember that discounted airline companies like this will try to make money using other methods to make up for what they're not charging you.

I booked my flight from Rome to Barcelona and did not receive a confirmation email or reminder to check in. So far, none of the airline companies I had flown with had let me check in online so I decided to arrive early at the airport and check in then just to be sure. The day before my flight, I received a text in Spanish and no email whatsoever. I thought the text was spam because I don't read or understand Spanish. When I showed up at the airport early to check in, the lady at the check-in counter (also know that Ryanair is known for its terrible staff and horrendous service, but I was a student backpacking on a budget) was extremely rude and literally said that she would be happy to let me miss my flight that morning unless I pay an extra 50 euros as a penalty for not checking in online. Instead of paying a total of 149 euros to fly from Rome to Barca, they made me pay a total of an extra 100 euros for in-airport check-in and baggage check-in (oversized baggage check-in is allowed so you don't have to pay an extra 50 euros for checking in your one carry-on item by the way). Many many airlines, specifically in European countries, hide this and lie to you to make you pay the extra 30-50 euros so keep that in mind.

All in all, I could have flown with a more prestigious airline and paid the extra 100 euros for good service versus the distress Ryanair cost me. Always remember that airlines like this never run on honest business. That's a huge lesson I learned while backpacking this time. After this scarring experience, I've chosen to boycott Ryanair with a passion. If you want to have an affordable but comfortable experience, I really recommend you avoid this airline. It really isn't worth it. I can officially say I would've had a more pleasant memory of my overall experience if this hadn't happened.

DON'T DO IT!
September 28, 2015

First of all, if you only have 2 small carry on bags, then it's a deal. OTHERWISE, DON'T DO IT!
Bargain airline built on taking advantage of the unknowing. Besides selling selling selling (colognes, lottery tix, etc...) their business plan is to "help folks learn the hard way." Your checked in luggage comes at a High price, sometimes even more than the actual flight! Unless you have no choice to fly this airline, please note: Everyone in Spain HATES THEM! Now, the people are nice, but they are a RIP OFF!
