The company's reputation is significantly marred by widespread customer dissatisfaction, particularly concerning its subscription model and customer service. Many users report unauthorized charges, difficulties in canceling subscriptions, and a lack of responsive support, leading to perceptions of deceptive practices. While some customers acknowledge the potential value of the service for avid readers, these positives are overshadowed by frustrations with the platform's functionality and the quality of customer interactions. Overall, the feedback indicates a pressing need for improved communication and more transparent billing practices to restore customer trust.

Do not use this website! I subscribed to it for a book I needed for a 5 week long session. I requested to cancel my membership, and they are still billing me 5 months later. If I wouldve known this was going to happen I could have bought the book for less than what I have paid them already.
Had a quick browse of scribd using a free trial it was of no use to me so i didn't
Sign on. I thought no more of it, only to find a false account had been set up using my name advertising spam Asian dating sites. It's nothing but one big scam.
THIS IS A SCAM. I never subscribed to it. But they got my credit card number and are billing me every month. They don't have a phone # that they will answer. On the web site you can only communicate with them if you sign on. Of course I don't have a sign on. What legitimate business would operate this way.
Scribd.com is very helpful site. It's a document-sharing website that allows users to post their documents in various formats.
Had to provide credit card to get content which then turned out to be useless. Cancelled account yet they continued to bill. Cannot call them as their phone number has no option for billing, support, etc. Finally after six months had to have credit card company block them from billing. Do not do business with this firm!
Scribd is a TERRIBLE company. I downloaded just one document back in january and I thought I would only be charged $10, but they charged me each month totalling to $60 and they will not refund the extra charges even though it was clear that "recurring monthly member" was very fine print that I did not see and considering that I didn't make any more downloads after that. It's clear that nobody would intentionally pay each month for a service they don't use. Scribd should respect their customers and do what's right and fair, not being a thief like they are now.
Just packed with malware; enter at your own risk. It seized my computer and rendered it useless. Even a forced shut down was prohibited and I had to disconnect the electrical source. Thanks to Norton, after I re-booted, all attempts to hijack my computer were thwarted even though I couldn't shut down my computer while scribd was running it's junk. Heed the Norton and McAfee warnings about this website.
Illegal uploading of my book Critical Social Research and failure to remove same when told about the violation of my copyright.
Scribd came online late if it could've been launched earlier I would have saved some money. It is very extensive in regards to study material.
Scribd is a highly excellent site especially for authors and other writers who are looking for ways to bring attention to their work on the market. In the realm of publishing one will know that advertising costs are quite expensive but any free advertising is always well received and very well appreciated by those who want their writing materials to gain exposure on the internet.
What I like about scribd.com is that the free advertising and promotion potential of an author or writer is welcome especially if one is trying to find inexpensive ways to advertise their work online.
Enter at own risk. According to Norton Safe-web, McAfee SiteAdvisor & WOT the site is unsafe. The site has many ethical issues (illegal copyright content), malware and it does spam. I have also had my own problems with this site, thus I don't recommend it.
Scribd.com used to be a great website when you could download books and resources. Enter the New York Times, which called the website out in May in an article about books' being illegally uploaded. Since then, the site has become a dumping ground for college essays and second-rate novels. However, for my educator purposes, I can sometimes find good materials like activity books for the kids or resources about autism for Spanish-speaking parents.

Hi Angela. I'm sorry to hear about your trouble. I tried to reach out to you here 1 week ago via private message, but I haven't heard back so I'm trying once more. I can’t find any previous correspondence between us, and I know it’s been a little while since your post, but we’d still like to try to sort this out. Would you please email us at support@scribd.com? Include the order number from your receipt if you can—or your Scribd username—so we can find your subscription in our system, and we'll try to make this right. Once you email us—or if you already did—please send me your ticket number and I'll be sure we investigate. --Jerry, Customer Service Manager, Scribd.com
