It appears that Seatgeek sells tickets it does not confidently have access to sell. Per a service rep "Listings update every few minutes, but sometimes that is not fast enough to keep up with situations where demand is unusually high. A listing might still show as available, even though it was just purchased". Hence, a technology limitation (and/or cost choice by seatgeek) results in a subset of purchasers being notified several minutes later (if they check their e-mail), that the purchase could not be completed and the $$ will be refunded. This happened to me twice today - the second attempt was via a seatgeek rep sending me a link to buy the tickets!
The above pain point is only part of the problem. Seatgeek will do nothing to get you comparable tickets for the same event. There is zero attempt to resolve. Tickets went up in price, too bad, you are getting your money back, try again. Given the significant seatgeek fee charged per ticket, they can easily resolve these situations but appear to choose not to
Seatgeek is no longer a little company. They manage their technology choices as well as the rules of their marketplace. Choices matter. Very disappointing
Very disappointing!
Potential FRAUD? Don't use RateYourSeats to purchase tickets! I purchased tickets last night to a concert using this company (in hopes to surprise my wife since she likes this particular singer); It sent me a link via text to my phone. When I hit the link it sent me to SeatGeek.com to get the tickets. Then it asked me to sign-in or register with SeatGeek; So I did and it let me in (so far so good), but then and it came back stating, "This Transfer was declined." What the heck? So, I downloaded the SeatGeek App, and logged-in; it let me in as well. The app showed me I have two tickets to accept, so I did, and it stated, "Failed to Accept Tickets." I tried using the PC to log-in to SeatGeek.com instead of the phone, and it let me in, but then that stated, "Cannot accept transfer, please verify your account to accept this ticket." I did that and logged in multiple times, and it let me in each time, but to no avail. I then called the help line *******569, but, someone from another planet answered the call and did their very best to go round in circles to tire you into frustration (as trained to do so). Bottom line the individual supervisor with the heavy accent stated he could not help and could not refund my money; Go figure! I had to call the credit card company to report this as a potential fraud and dispute this ordeal. Are all these "ticket RESALE" companies are bogus? There should be a law against these types of transactions.
Could not accept tickets. Kept getting the same error code. Customer service were also getting the same error when they attempted to accept tickets under my account. Stressful experience having to contact customer service over and over and had to have tickets sent four separate times. Stressful, frustrating, and unpleasant dealing with this day and night prior to traveling six hours to our event. Tickets were purchased five months prior to the event, and we almost didn't get to go. It wasn't resolved until 2 days before event.
Still fighting with seatgeeks over not providing tickets that I paid for two months before the event. They are getting frustrated because I won't close out my BBB complaint, read the BBB seatgeek reviews. They are rated F and it's obvious they are a unethical company. The Massachusetts atty general is investigating and they advised me to file with the NY AG as they are based in NYC. Still waiting before I get a lawyer. Don't even think about using this company!
Bought tickets to a Georgia bulldogs football gave in Athens for a disabled veteran on Veterans Day. Tickets were confirmed but never delivered. Called a few times but was told I would get the tickets 24 hours before the game. Stated working with customer service at 9 am for a 7pm game. Was assured that I would have my tickets or similar tickets before game time. We had traveled from Boston so it was stressful especially as it got closer. Got to Sanford Stadium, still getting jerked around. Fifteen minutes before game time I was told they dropped the ball on my tickets and there were no tickets. They knew about my disabled friend's situation and told me they could care less about veterans or the fact that he was an amputee. Seat geeks is an unreliable uncaring incompetent company. They are also liars and con men. Needless to say my friend's Veterans Day and our trip down from boston was a complete disaster. Do not use this company under any circumstances. I've contacted a lawyer and hope to hold these horrible people responsible.
Go on the BBB better business bureau for an accurate rating. The bbb gave seatgeeks an F and seatgeeks is not accredited. Read the customer reviews on the BBB site. It will confirm they are a scam company.
While purchasing tickets for Cabaret on Broadway, I accidentally purchased tics for the wrong date (had 2 windows open!). I immediately realized my mistake, found a customer service phone number and called. I explained what happened to 'Kate', and was told that it may be possible to exchange tickets for the date I actually wanted. About 4 hours later I received a call back with a confirmation that the exchange had gone through and that my new tics were available on the app. I know that SeatGeek policy is that all purchases are final, but because these tics were a few months out they were able to assist. I appreciated the customer service.
I cancelled tickets due to life emergency. Purchased the protect your purchase insurance and they still charged my card twice.
I have filed a dispute and attempting to resolve.
Very dishonest company.
This was the first and last time I will ever use this company Seat Geek. I purchased tickets the night before event. They give you an auto reply that tickets will be transferred in 48 hours. My event was happening the nexgt day. I reach out via email and via phone the next day to confirm my order. They simply say we will get back to you in a few hours. Hours go by I check my account to find that they provide me with ticket that is not what i purchased. I purchased a VIP ticket and they supply me with something completly different. NOT even worth half the amount i paid for this event. Bait and switch now hours before the event no response from the company. Honestly Stub HUB is much better Never use Seat Geek unless you enjoy being ripped off!
I bought concert tickets approximately 6weeks ago. Said concert was canceled in less than 4 days of purchase. I immediately requested a refund & here we are 6 weeks later without a refund. Customer service has given me the runaround from day one of trying to get my money back. I disputed the charge with my Credit Card company. Finally,Seat Geek says if I have the CC Company remove the dispute they will process my refund. I did so only to then have Seat Geek say that they need a document from my CC company saying that the dispute was lifted & a screenshot will not be accepted. I've since filed a new dispute with the CC company. No one should have to beg & jump through hoops to receive their money back. It sure was a Quick process to take my money. I would advise to NEVER do business with Seat Geek.
We purchased 2 tickets for a local event through seatgeek back in September. The event is tomorrow, January 25th, 2024. We were told we may not receive the tickets up until 24 hours prior to the concert. We called today (January 24th, 2024) and spoke to customer service. They said that our tickets were denied due to an invalid billing address. Doubled checked the billing address and it was correct. Was told that the tickets were then voided due to no longer being available and was told I was sent an email stating so, checked my email, spam and junk folder to find no such email. They said they will refund me for my tickets but the lack of communication for such a well known and common used site threw me for a loop. This is the first time we have used seat geek and will not be using it again due to the lack of communication on the customer service end of things. I understand, things happen. Mistakes are made but had I not called I fear I may not have even been refunded for the tickets that I purchased. I have the confirmation email stating the ticket puchase so the fact that they "werent available" is what I dont understand.
They don't send you tickets. You have to create an account in order to access your tickets. You can't print the tickets, which is problematic since I like a hard copy, just in case.
Wasted a great deal of time to access tickets, only to find out I had to send them to someone to be able to access them. In the end I had to create another email account that seatgeek would allow me to send them to and allow me to "access" my tickets.
Wow, I mean really a pain in the neck!
Bought tickets to an NFL game. Days later no tickets due to an internal error. No refund. I must now decide to drive 14 hours with the hope of tickets. They did assure me I would get tickets right before the game. Still, who would want to be out in this situation.
Seat geek is Terrible!
Impossible to navigate their site.
A most frustrating experience.
I can buy tickets to any other event with ease but Not with seat geek:(
Why does it take 48hours or more to get tickets, when with others it is immediate?
After pressing the buy option for 2 theater tickets, Seat Geek sent back an ambiguous message saying the transaction may not have gone through and that I should check my email. When I checked my email there was no confirmation from Seat Geek. Presuming that the transaction had failed, I ordered 2 more tickets. A minute later two email confirms arrived for 2 tickets each.
I contacted Seat Geek's customer service immediately; they told me that all ticket sales were final, and that I should attempt to sell the tickets through their service. When I failed to get them to reconsider, I attempted to offer the 2 extra tickets for sale at a loss, but their service said they were ineligible!
I don't often feel like a chump, but I did after dealing with them.
3 days later, Fernando from their customer service emailed to say they had secured a refund from the box office. After it was credited, I altered the review from 1 star to 4 stars.

6 days before the AFC divisional game I bought tickets for I decided to log in to my account to review them. I bought the tickets through the team website the day they went on sale. I attempted to log in to SeatGeek with my stored password and got a message that the credentials were wrong. I attempted a second log in with their "one time" email sign in and used the code they emailed me but got a message that my account was either locked or cancelled. Had to google how to contact them directly, as there are no obvious options on the SeatGeek website and the support page does not link. I started an online chat and was told it would take 20-30 minutes to reset my account. In the meantime I requested a phone number. I called, spoke to an agent who told me it would take 1-2 hours to unlock my account. I asked for a supervisor. After holding 50 minutes, a supervisor picked up the call and then immediately dropped it. I called back, and the agent that answered the second call asked me for different verification credentials. He told me reset would take up to 48 hours. I asked for a supervisor and he refused to transfer me. He took my number and told me a supervisor would call. Supervisor has not called. I am back on chat in the meantime. 45 minutes ago the agent on chat told me i was second in queue. 15 minutes ago she assured me she was working until 1 am eastern time and would email reset instructions prior to ending her shift. I told her I would like to remain on the chat. Now she is now writing that the department that needs to unlock my account is not available until tomorrow. I have spent $2500 on tickets and Seat Geek is refusing me access to them. If this were game day I would be completely screwed. Right now I am left eagerly needing to know that my tickets are secure, with thousands spent on the game. I have bought NFL tickets from Ticketmaster many many times without issue. SeatGeek is absolutely awful and I will never purchase from them again.
I purchased 4 tickets for the queen city outdoor hockey game in Charlotte North Carolina through SeatGeek. When I purchased them through their site, the only tickets that were available were in sections 124 and 125 but they had no warning or limitation placed on them and they charged a premium of $115 a ticket plus their $41 service charge. The event was last night and our seats were horrible. We were more than 75 yards away from the rink. It was literally impossible to see any action on the ice because of the distance and the construction and location of the rink within Knights Stadium. The the section was so low you could not see over the sideboards to the rink so you were unable to see any of the lower body of the players or the puck on the ice. Also on that side of the rink, both of the teams benches were placed there so the players added to the already obstructed view. We recognize that seatgeek had nothing to do with the construction, but they agreed to sell the tickets at a premium yet offered no warning that the seats had an obstructed view and in reality useless because you were so disconnected from the game and no view to enjoy the experience. If the seats were to be sold, then they should have priced them more reasonably and allowed consumers to understand that they were not in close proximity to the rink and faced an obstructed view. We paid nearly $700 for four seats as well as many of the other fans in that area, and within 10 minutes of sitting in the seats, virtually, everyone left, and moved to higher ground on the walkways of the arena, and had to stand the entire time to be able to view the game. I have contacted seatgeek to let them know of our dissatisfaction and asked for at least a partial refund, but have not received a response. Ticket buyers need to be mindful when dealing with this service that they're not upfront with providing you with all of the information you need to make an informed decision before you spend your hard earned money for an event. For all intense and purposes the tickets were worthless.
I bought the wrong day on accident for the band TOOL. They are playing 1/12/23 and 1/13/23 I bought tickets for 1/12/23 by mistake, and seatgeek refused to swap days out. They said theirs nothing they can do. I lost 400$ and never got to see the show. Use stubhub or Ticketmaster.
Deceptive, DOJ needs to know. Not reputable. Took money and no goods or services were delivered. I will not rest until Jack G is banned from doing any business and does not ever get another round of funding.
Fine print crooks! Bought tickets for an event, but because it wasn't the same day as another event I bought tickets for they wouldn't let me go. Not only did I get shorted the event, but I got shorted my money. The only thing SeatGeek is good for is sticking to their policies and NOT GIVING REFUNDS. Didn't go to the event and didn't get my money back all thanks to the fine print. Thanks SeatGeek! Will not be using your services next time. Ticketmaster blows you out of the water with policies and customer service. I would not recommend SeatGeek. I would recommend Ticketmaster all day over SeatGeek. I was sorely disappointed in their lack of refunds, resources or help with my situation.
Thieves! What a scam! How can they the charge both sides so much money just to be an intermediary? Rip-off!
Answer: Shana is correct, Seat Geek takes no responsibility for tickets and have no customer service and will not return calls if things do not work out Stub Hub is much better
