I have been on Starnow for many years and returned to it today to find there are no longer any listings of musicians, singers etc which I have found useful in the past. I also don't want to see ads for models or actors in the UK when I live in Australia, now I have to open a new page and filter out all this. Totally wrecked website and no use to me any more.
Disgusting and unprofessional conning scum! I had posted an ad looking for a music co-writer and paid £14.95 for it. No sooner I post this, I discover it is hidden from being seen and being asked to verify myself and with refusal in the meantime to keep my ad live ( that I paid for!) and refusing to refund me if they never post it live again!
It's a con and a blatant scam! Fancy earning money by ripping aspiring arts performers off like this! I pay money for a "service" and that service is not for a second honoured!
I will be taking legal action against the fakes and in the meantime take myself off to 'The Stage' website - they're professional!

Used to be good site.
The jobs were mostly low grade and low pay but it paid for it's self ever 6 months so I stayed with it for 4 years.
Today they ruined it and setup the system for lots of extra charges too.
Extra charge for crew profile and you can get paid via them too, i wonder if that comes with charges?
It's ruined so i cancelled my subscription and I'll just use facebook from now on.
Backstage have taken over StarNow and have changed the site layout to fit Backstage, which is rubbish. I have lost all my messages/applications and videos (as with everyone else) I have lost all contact with ongoing applications and with that lost jobs as well. The don't care about the problems they have caused to all who used StarNow. They changed it over a Bank Holiday weekend (UK) knowing people wouldn't probably use rhe site for a couple of days and we wouldn't be able to get hold of them. If this is the way the treat customers of the site without warning them I wouldn't use the site. Its a disgusting way of treating customers.
Hi I had an account but they've removed it because. Now I told them that I can't upload a photo or follow someone. I had evidence but I deleted it angrily. The removed my account because I told them that I'm angry because I can't upload a photo and they removed my account
I am very careful with subscriptions to websites but I was still scammed and charged twice without my approval. They have no relevant opportunities for people without experience. Even individuals who just want first portfolios don't respond to ads. Please do not give them your money.
I've been trying for a while now to make a listing, but every time there is something wrong and they tell me to change something But when I change it, they suddenly stop responding. One time they even deleted my listing so I couldn't change it. I wrote them but nobody answered even though they said they would keep a close eye on my respond. They expect you to pay money for projects that don't earn any money. It's been a while and still my listing has not been approved nor has there been any more information about I should change the listing.

I asked star now to cancel my subscription and they didn't they just charged me again! I would like my money back I didn't want to pay again and I gave enough notice for the cancellation of my subscription! Waste of time and money do not subscribe!

StarNow did not cancel my subscription despite the fact that I have emailed them asking for it and also a full refund within the 30-day period. They have only sent me one reply so far offering me a "3-month subscription holiday" and ignored the other emails I have sent them regarding this issue. According to multiple other reviews on the website they have said that this "subscription holiday" is definitely false and wouldn't be reflected to my account. In the lone email they have sent, they also indirectly threatened me that I would not be eligible for a full refund if I do not take up the 3-month offer. They are a shady business that should be banned!

However, I would like to clarify a few details around the payment holiday that you were offered. During the Global Pandemic, we revised our cancellation policy to offer members free time should they wish to stay on the site. We mentioned in our email to you that our existing refund policy still applied.
I can assure you this was a genuine offer and that our subscription, cancellations and refund policies are all within standard business practice and clearly outlined within our Terms and Conditions.

Part I
After going through building a list of talents to cast that exceeded over 300 names. Starnow canceled my account with no warning or explanation of why other than people made serious complaints. Of the 200 remaining talents yet to be cast the contact list was lost to our company. Of the 38 talents cast only 24 had contacts other than messaging through Starnow. This means I have 14 talents who were cast to be on our television show without any way of confirming their information. This to me is unfair to the remaining 14 talents who had an opportunity who now have lost their opportunity because of the way Starnow handled the process.
Part II
Update: It appears that Starnow has no measures set in place to check facts before rendering their decisions. Case is only clarified by their response to my review. There was never an e-mail send with an explanation. In fact, the e-mail clearly stated they could not give me an explanation due to privacy issues. If there was an issue, I should have been notified so it could have been addressed or resolved not just shut out of communications without warning. I stand by my review Starnow could have handled the entire matter better. Instead of helping the many they chose to let a few people rob those of the opportunity offered them.
Part III
Update: Starnow has members who can freely post and share untruths about others without any repercussions. I would as an industry professional with over 60 years of experience suggest people look for other sites to find work until Starnow finds a better way to deal with misunderstandings and complaints.

HORRIBLE service which is basically a Facebook for actors. Little to no work. Be aware that you have to email to cancel your subscription long in advance and hound staff in order to not be recharged. Money grab.

They stopped me using their services about two years ago and I couldn't understand why, they just kept saying it was their right to do so and kept referring me to their rules, but referring me to their rules was pointless when I had no idea what I was supposed to have done, finally, they claimed I created a site that inappropriately rivalled their site, which I couldn't understand because I am rubbish with computers and wouldn't know how, but they said the matter was closed and refused to discuss it further, I assumed they just had a personal issue with me and left it at that. Recently I discovered, thanks to the police I had, had my identity stolen and sites using my account was being made, which even created sites similar to starnow, but with the adult element, being a family man this is not something I would ever do or agree with. I have even a letter from the police, which I scanned and showed Starnow. Two issues here, one is that if they talked to me I would have realised what was going on years ago and I would have been able to stop this identity theft, and the second issue is, even though I have proven I didn't do anything wrong and was a victim in a crime, they are still refuse to allow me back, how nasty is that? They will probably try to justify this, but there is nothing they can say that justify's refusing to have me back when I proved I didn't do anything and was a victim of identity theft, I can only hope the same happens to them so they can understand how horrible it is to have this done to you.
They make false accusations about people. Refuse to take responsibility for accusing falsely and treat people poorly. They allow people who sexually harass people and they allow stalkers to stay. Starnow is bullies and mental abusers: Added Update: As you can all see they refuse to fix the issue when they are in the wrong. Please be careful with Starnow because even if you do not breach their rules they make things up about you and remove you anyway.

As a company We decided to use star now because a few of our talents were working with them and figured that they should work.
But honestly the actors on this website are very desperate and beg for things that are not promised on the gig listing. On multiple occasions actors from other countries have submitted to my gig listing believing for some reason that they would be selected and feel as though we will be paying air and accommodations. We make no such agreement on our listing yet 90 percent of the applicants either do this or are either nothing like specified. Example if you are looking for an actor who can do a British accent you will get 90 applicants who do a Canadian accent. The people who apply for listing do not read. Any way a few of the people I asked star now about then began changing their story about it saying they were unprofessional I then asked them why didn't they tell me before hand? They said they just recently started doing this. Also Productions I would like to warn you about the up charging they do. I dont have a problem paying for a listing but I am here to tell you that your wasting your time. The guidelines to do match the quality of the service provided one bit. They need to encourage their talent to handle their selves in more of a professional manner! A few talent from this agency found me on other social media platforms and began being bothersome a bout a role they were not a good fit or qualified to do... mainly people from... you guessed it a differnt region than my location. The talent that we asked also mentioned that they ended up getting scammed as well. But once again they mentioned this way after I already posted my ad.
If you are looking to post an ad I would say proceed with caution and don't pay for an ad because itt would not be worth it in the end.

If you are in America stay far away from starnow. You will never get a job and once they have your credit card information they will charge your card without your consent or approval and they will refused to refund your money back. Not worth the headache. Look around for company Base right in the USA and use them instead.

Got charged a recurring payment 6 months after I signed up and completely forgot about. They dont send reminders! I requested a refund and cancellation within an hour of the charge. Got a generic response saying it was not possible. I asked to speak to a manager and gave them my phone number (as we cant call them). Finally the CCO emailed be back. I found her response to be partly irrelevant, passive aggressive and sarcastic. She invited me to email her back if I had any further questions, which I did, requesting a refund out of courtesy and good business practice. No response. To me, this is basically theft. Dont use this company which you cannot easily contact and has zero respect for their customers.
