State Farm Reviews Summary

State Farm's reputation has significantly declined among customers, with numerous complaints highlighting issues such as delayed claims processing, lack of communication, and perceived bad faith in handling claims. Customers express frustration over rising premiums and inadequate support, often resorting to legal action to resolve disputes. While some long-term clients appreciate the ease of policy management and the app's functionality, the overwhelming sentiment suggests a growing dissatisfaction with the company's service and commitment to its policyholders. As a result, many customers are actively seeking alternatives, indicating a critical need for State Farm to address these concerns.

Claims are nightmare
November 22, 2020

I have had three claim from 1980-2020 first had to do repair on my own them had to hire lawyer to get them to pay. Second claim hired a structural engineer to make them pay. Third car damaged when parked at grocery store claims were not helpful in helping the made me pay high deductable even the body shop commented it was too high in price of deductable said it was an accident. Would not classify as uninsured motorist as it would be half the amount of my deductable. State farm has low rates but if you have a claim they want to pay the least possible to the client. It's there business plan. Don't be lured in by low rates. You will have to fight them to pay your claim.

I have an auto loan with State Farm, and would never recommend this company to anyone. I will be telling everyone I know that State Farm is the worst company. Their employees are extremely rude, will talk over you and raise their voice at you. They avoid my calls for days at a time (telling me they will call me before the day ends but they never do). Keith Hartsgrove in Lakeland FL was suppose to call me in regards to reinstating my loan by the end of the day. Each day I called and his assistant would promise me he would be in touch by the end of the day. He never called and was always too busy to talk to me. When I finally got a hold of him 5 phone calls later and 4 days later I had to ask him why it was so hard to get him to communicate with me because he acted as if nothing happened. I have worked customer service for years and I can say this is THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever experienced in my life. Nobody is trained properly. I was told my loan was reinstated all i had to do was pay almost $700 which is every penny I had during this pandemic. So I gave them every penny I had to get my loan reinstated. The lady told me it was reinstated and where to make my monthly payments. I made my next monthly payment on time and then i got a call from a collection agency that they sold off my account... what the hell. Nobody ever told me that would happen. I will be leaving bad reviews everywhere I can and spreading the news to everyone I know.

I have a friend, he s a minimalist I guess you could say. The only thing in the world he owned was a work truck. It was stolen. He reported it to the police who told him to report it to his insurance. The moment he reported it stolen to sstate farm he was treated like a lieing criminal, even though he had been paying them for years without one single accident or traffic violation. He has no criminal record in 47 years of his life. Instead of trying to help him they are trying to harm him, plain and symple. Beware of this company, they are corporate sharks trying to feed off you.

Excellent service
October 14, 2020

I have never experienced such professional and totally comprehensive service from any insurance agency ever! In particular I am so happy to have Grace R Estupinan as my agent - she is quite perfect in every way and always helps me, no matter how small the matter is - I can't recommend the Bill Hagen Agency enough to all AAAAA+++++

A State Farm insured individual rear-ended my wife in our truck at full speed. Totaled our vehicle, and no doubt their fault (admitted by State Farm). This began an absolutely awful experience of us just trying to break even financially. Didn't happen. There was no way we could replace the vehicle for what they paid out, and their treatment of us was unforgivable. One customer service agent said we were indeed being short-changed and he could get us more money. He did! Less than 1% more. Insult to injury. The worst thing? Less than 8 hours after this violent accident my wife gets an email asking for her to sign a release from any liability in exchange for an insultingly low sum. "Get'em before the adrenaline wears off" must be their mantra. Absolutely the most awful, soulless POS company we've ever dealt with, and I was not shy about telling them so. Should have gone to court but just wanted STATE FARM OUT OF OUR LIVES.

State Farm is horrible
September 9, 2020

A state farm insured driver pulled out on front of me at a three way stop. The police said it was his fault. A driver was behind me and gave a statement that said I accelerated the gas so I would hit him. I did not. So because some guy says it's true, it must me. They denied my claim. It was their drivers fault. Don't deal with these people. They are horrible. My car is totalled because of their irresponsible driver.

In an accident 5 weeks ago. Other driver was at fault he turned left in front of me at intersection, I hit him in front right fender, door and truck bed... why all that, he didn't stop. Car behind me was city Police and went after him. He is insured by State Farm. Took 5 days to have my car towed from Wrecker yard to body shop(by State Farm). Another week for State Farm to contact body shop. State Farm wants body shop to take pictures and send them in and... that was 3 weeks ago NOTHING from State Farm. I call them and am told I am in the cue to have someone look at the car. Was told it takes 3-5 days... 21 days ago!

I waited from 7:30pm to approximately 3:30am for a tow. This is the second time this occurred. I am in the process of cancelling my insurance. During these difficult times we must continue to hold people accountable for their actions as well as the representative of their company. I will not continue to pay for a service at a company where I don't feel respected.

New Jake commercial

The new Jake commercial is very offensive. He accepts pizza, wings, cookies and makes no effort to pay for the free merchandise. Code of Conduct violation. Terminate him!

You'd think once you've entered the "key code" to identify the invoice you'd like to pay, their system could direct you to a "business name" log in. But no! I had to use the pay by phone method instead, and pay by credit card (only option.) You'd think they would rather avoid those Visa fees, but no, apparently not.

I called to review my bill and was promised a return call that never happened. I called approximately 10 days later and spoke with Ms. Julie Wilson. She not only apologized for the dropped ball by another associate, she took time to review, explain and assist. I felt valued and appreciated. It made the difference of me taking my business elsewhere. Thank you, Ms. Wilson. I truly appreciate that customer service is still a thing in business.

What a joke! State Farm sneakily raised my bill this month by an extra $27.58!
I find it very convenient they tack on some senseless charge right before the SF Covid refunds/credits are supposed to be issued in June.
And yes, I already contacted my agent and waiting for their reply.
They are a greedy company.

Do NOT go to State Farm for auto insurance. They're lying scammers. A 93 year-old woman recently drove 4 feet too far to the right, into the bike lane, and hit my car with my door half-open, and they said I was almost completely liable. I spent hours measuring the street and showing that the accident would not have been possible without her driving at least 3-4 feet too far to the right, they said this didn't change their decision because the measurements "were taken after the accident." Can't wait to make them pay in court. Total scumbags.

We called for an emergency road service around 11:30am yesterday through a landline in Alliance Gasoline Station (5720 Cabrillo Hwy, Pescadero, CA) to tow my 2016 Ford Escape off the Gazos Creek Road(Pave road) that was stuck in the middle of the road about 4 miles away from the gas station. The first agent said that they're gonna send one and will be there 45 mins. We waited for an hour, the tow truck called and said that he's currently in Half Moon Bay and will arrived for 30 mins. So we waited for 30 mins but no one came. We called statefarm again and it turned out it was cancelled without us knowing. The agent said that her hands are tied and can't get us help. We didn't have cell reception or data, and told us to just figure it out ourselves, leaving us stranded. So we asked for the supervisor since the agent was incompetent, we went through the same process over and over telling them that same information. The supervisor, Trish ID#******* said that she's sending us a tow truck and will be there for 90mins. This was already around 5pm and the gasoline station will close around 6pm, leaving us with o means to communicate after the said time. We waited for over 2 hours but no one came.
