WebMD's reputation is mixed, with customers acknowledging the site's extensive medical information and usefulness as a starting point for health inquiries. However, significant concerns arise regarding outdated provider information, unreliable marketing practices, and perceived biases towards pharmaceutical interests. Many users express frustration with customer service, citing unresponsive communication and a lack of follow-up, particularly in marketing and administrative contexts. While some appreciate the resource for its educational value, the overall sentiment reflects a demand for improved reliability and transparency in both service and content.

Been a fan of this site for years.
Provide very good updated information with well researched materials for many years.
Much better than wikipedia
I had the most unfortunate experience with Nurse Practioner May and the staff at Atlanticare Physicians Group Atlantic City, NJ *******
My request for medical care and recovery from Covid was inadequately monitored via Teleheath.
NP May's inability to properly fill out my return to work forms, placed my employment in jeopardy and added undue stress.
Their response to my plight was unprofessional, rude and lacked compassion.
This treatment is not befitting of a medical facility.
I would advise anyone seeking medical attention to go elsewhere as their patient's welfare is not a priority.
My company hired WebMD for marketing services on two different occasions both times they lied about the leads they were sending to us. We called a few leads and they asked how did you even get my information. WebMDs marketing department are liars and garbage at what they do. Bad business.
Avoid this doctor alt all costs. Research him online. I was almost killed by him with Doctor Error which he denied. He has a terrible previous medical history. Bounces jobs. Cant't believe he's not behind BARS.
Lots of articles about various health issues. They will also fine-tune the articles to your specific health issues.
Web MD One, the provider for my state health insurance called the police on me during a routine diabetes education call. They would not listen to me describe the psychological help I was getting locally and they called the police and abruptly transferred me to the national suicide hotline after I repeatedly told them not to call the police. When I got off the phone with the hotline the police were already at my door. I spent the next 6 hours in a hospital emergency room until the truth could be told and I could be released. This company specifically discriminates against those with mental illnesses, releases HIPPA protected information to the police, and is completely unscrupulous. Do not share any health information with them at all. They will use your mental health status to let the local police department detain you and send you to the emergency room at your cost. Do not trust this organization with any personal information whatsoever.
Went to highest degree to get to a great data based analysis of my case. Good attitude. Respectful. Continued persistence and follow up.
After reading 2 WebMD articles about asthma medication I am unimpressed. The only credit listed was a doctor who allegedly "reviewed" each article. There are no authors listed, and no sources where they found their data. There are only links to other WebMD articles, which I expect are also written anonymously. There are no references to books, or experts, or links to websites for further reading, or to the date the source material was written. Your health is too important to trust an article written by an anonymous typist with no apparent credentials other than they know how to use Google.

Articles are poorly written copies of more detailed blog found on the internet. This is a sham company using the guise of a medical affiliation to fraudulently induce visitors to purchase their 'highly recommended' medicines using links which pay WebMd a cut for each purchase.
For instance, this WebMd page pushes 'Abilify', a drug tied to more than 100 serious side effects including death, as if it were the best thing since buttered bread. WebMd promotes the drug and offers various links to purchase this deadly toxin. Once the links are clicked, WebMd collects a referral fee for each sale.

Shill sites like WebMd are not protected as their product and doctor reviews are absolutely fictitious. Attorneys familiar with RICO will eventually have a field day with corrupt organizations intentionally causing misinformation and potential deadly harm to society.
This doctor ruined my life! She said things that aren't true about me. Missed diagnosed me for a few years. Thank God I found a wonderful doctor that found a correct diagnosis.
Dr. Fishbein, my dentist, did a wonderful job on my teeth. He always advised me as to what he was planning to do so that was aware of what my treatment involved. He is very considerate as to how I was feeling in the treatment chair. Very thorough and not satisfied until he thought my teeth looked perfect. Five stars!
They have a horrifying, disgusting article up about infant circumcision. It's full of misinformation that can be very damaging. The bottom line is basically that infants don't have bodily autonomy and circumcision isn't harmful.
Circumcision is extremely harmful, not only physically but psychologically as well. It's a barbaric practice that should NOT be inflicted on any baby today. No one should be having a body part removed off of someone who can't consent. Girls are protected from genital mutilation, boys should be too.
Webmd, I suggest you take that harmful article down and educate yourselves before saying anything else about circumcision. Please, you could be an influencing factor as to why more baby boys are hurt with this horrific practice.
Do you really want that kind of blood on your hands? Get with the times, removing a vital body part for no good reason should NOT be considered a medical procedure. There are absolutely zero benefits to circumcision, and even if there IS any small benefit, the cons far outweigh the pros.
How many years I suffered from chronic urinary track infections. I saw various doctors who were unable to help me. It was not until I started treating with Dr. Manish Gopal that I was able to get relief. Thanks to Dr Gopal I have not had a urinary tract infection for over a year. Dr. Gopal took the time to listen to my complaints and symptoms. He always answered my questions and explained what he thought I should do. I highly recommend Dr Gopal he and his office staff are great.
I checked the site to see what to do if I were having s
Covid symptoms- the advice is very misleading - it can make people not call their doctor ASAP and simply stay home. Every hour counts as the disease spreads quickly.
Advice on Covid symptoms
Rhonda is a wonderful, compassionate and knowledgeable FNP. She always listens to you so she understands what course of action needs to be taken or what tests need to be completed. She is very knowledgeable about the medical world and works hard to continue increasing her knowledge. Her compassion is top notch. She makes you feel like you are the only patient she has and takes her time with you and answers all questions professionally and explains so the patient understands... not in medical jargon. I highly recommend Rhonda.
WebMD allows anonymous reviews of physicians. I am the business manager for a radiologist and saw a review on Vitals.com about this physician that was blatantly false and libelous. This unknown person accused the physician of skewing his reports to cover up surgeons' mistakes. To add insult to injury, Vitals.com published the same review TWICE and counted the bad rating twice. If the review that was posted was true, it would be grounds to take away his medical license! Vitals.com makes it virtually impossible to contact them; they never responded to my "contact us" form. I I finally talked to someone at WebMD (I did not know they owned Vitals.com) who said one can't address bad reviews if one has the "basic" profile page. Of course, you have to pay for a level up. This is blatant extortion. It is beyond me how they get away with this.

1. Information is often presented in chunks, so that to read a whole article I have to keep clicking "NEXT." Usually, "NEXT" opens up a whole new window, often of the same page I'm trying to leave for the next page. So I click"NEXT" on that page, and get yet ANOTHER window with the same page: no way to read an entire article! This doesn't generally happen with other websites. Incompetent software engineers.
2. They asked me to fill out a survey. I tried to take their survey, but at one point it demanded that I put "at least one checkmark" in a particular column, indicating myself to be the caregiver for someone with a medical condition. I am NOT a caregiver, so I couldn't check anything without lying, which I refuse to do. They had wasted my time, and I don't take Kindly to that. Incompetent software engineers.
3. At the bottom of each page of the survey was a link for "Contact us." Clicking on it did NOT open up a contact form--instead it opened my email program, with their email address pre-filled-in. I wrote to them about #2 above and clicked "SEND." I immediately got a message that my message could not be delivered! WTF? It was THEIR automatic eddress fill! Incompetent software engineers.
I am a retired engineer, some years of my career having been spent in software quality assurance. WebMD should be paying me to find their bugs!
There are so many ads every time I click on web md that I cannot read in an ongoing manner due to constant interruptions. Even if I give it time to load them all it doesn't help as I scroll only to get bumped out of my spot. Greed kills things so I'd say thats an issue here. Cut back a little and make your site usable. In the meanwhile - there are many choices out there.
Stop $#*!ing advertising. You pieces of $#*!s. I don't need to see all these damn pop ups when I'm looking for vital information. Stupid mother$#*!ers.
