WebMD Reviews Summary

WebMD's reputation is mixed, with customers acknowledging the site's extensive medical information and usefulness as a starting point for health inquiries. However, significant concerns arise regarding outdated provider information, unreliable marketing practices, and perceived biases towards pharmaceutical interests. Many users express frustration with customer service, citing unresponsive communication and a lack of follow-up, particularly in marketing and administrative contexts. While some appreciate the resource for its educational value, the overall sentiment reflects a demand for improved reliability and transparency in both service and content.

Not nearly as good as Mayo Clinic site.
Even with adblocker the webmd site looks a bit like yahoo news! The page keeps "refreshing" with new distractions. It can be difficult to track the actual content and read an article. Very unprofessional and doesn't inspire confidence in its credibility.

Poor patient service
January 16, 2020

I had a very bad experience with Dr. Grace Kim, DO, in Las Vegas. I needed written clearance for a psoriasis drug from an infectious disease doc due to TB exposure, despite a clear chest Xray. So I called 3 infectious disease practices. Two were not accepting new patients. Although the third one was accepting new patients, the earliest I could get an appointment was in several months. My attempts were fully explained to Dr. Kim. I also offered to get clearance from a reputable pulmonologist whom I saw several years ago and was seeing again this week. Dr. Kim refused. She did not even offer any guidance or assistance.

Just returned from the pulmonologist who offered to write a letter based on negative test results, an exam, and the fact that I didn't have any TB symptoms. He also contacted another dermatologist on my behalf, explaining the situation. This dermatologist understands the circumstance and agreed that I should be cleared based on the information presented. There was no reason to wait 3 months to see an infectious disease physician and have my painful psoriasis return. I am scheduling an appointment with her and leaving Dr. Kim.

If you want a compassionate and well-informed rheumatologist, stay far away from Dr. Grace Kim.

Dr Ruth Kozlowski is sincere, diligent, kind, compassionate caring doctor, best doctor ever. She is very intelligent and follows through with all test results. I could not imagine a better health care professional. I am so grateful that Dr Ruth Kozlowski provides my excellent health care.

WebMD is a site that, in my opinion, provides a plethora of helpful information about health and wellness. However, the site is extremely slow to load compared to most modern websites. After waiting for the site to finish loading you're experience is further interrupted by intrusive popups asking you to sign up for their newsletter. Like I need more spam emails cluttering my inbox. When you are finally able to interact with the site and read the information you were originally seeking you will see that advertisements take up probably a third of the page and in order to read most articles you need to navigate through multiple pages. Say hello to the slow load times once again for every page you need to look at.

Overall, the site is loaded with useful information but the user experience is TERRIBLE and honestly inexcusable in the world of modern web design.

Hippocratic Hypocrite
November 27, 2019

WebMD has in my experience with using them have always had a very narrow perspective of any alternative treatment for any sickness or bodily malfunction. I do not adhere to anything that WebMD recommends. I find them extremely suspect.

Florida orthopedic foot and ankle center is one of the best Dr visit i have ever had in 50 yrs. Everyone from the minute i hobbled in to the minute i left very kind, informative, helpful and caring. Best bed side manner from the Dr i have seen. They listened and were concerned not like most that brush you off. All staff was the same. Waiting time once i got there was none which was great. Treatment was awesome. Thank you to all that work there! I would highly recommend them to everyone

I waited 90 minutes (50 minutes inside the exam room) and never saw him (as an aside, the doctor and/or his office cancelled my appt on very short notice (explanation was that he had a meeting)). He is likely an excellent surgeon and I had seen him twice over the years (positive/impressed w his knowledge, sincerity, and competence), and was ready to get this surgery scheduled and had referred others to him with good surgical results. Sitting inside the exam room at the 90-minute mark, I finally gave up and had to leave, missed 2 hours of work and never saw this physician. When I had to leave, I told his assistant that I was very upset and felt the reschedule and long wait were unprofessional. She said quite simply in front of many others, "I have nothing to say to you." I felt humiliated in front of all these ladies. The next day, I sent an email through the patient portal to ask Dr Hagood (not his staff) for a referral to an equally competent surgeon (do not ever want to see his staff again after that) -- his assistant called me within seconds (1-2 mins max) just to leave a voicemail to let me know that they wouldn't make a referral. There is no way enough time elapsed for the doctor to have been contacted about my email request for a referral, and I doubt he even knows. Definitely the worst treatment I have ever received at a doctor's office. Something isn't right overall with this practice.

Called WebMD to discuss my symptoms. The Dr., who was very kind and polite, recommended I see a Doctor. Who the heck am I talking with here, The Lone Ranger? Spent about $90.00 but for peace of mind I'm going to the Doctors office early tomorrow morning.

The site freezes too much and there are way too many ads. Ad blockers don't help and will conflict with the homepage making it almost impossible to navigate.

I have heard that Bascom Palmer was the best place to go but it is the most and horrible place to go. They have no respect for the patient's time no sense Patient Experience and they think they are going to make you happy by having some moron pass out snacks. Well, Bascom PALMER instead of passing out snacks how about having a little more sensibility training and understanding that passing out snacks does nothing if you don't update a patient and feeding me will not keep me quiet. You have some moron in a clown suit who isn't even nice they are sarcastic and not people persons coming around because have been waiting long try to bribe you with snacks. How about attending me and not giving me snacks but do your job and get me through my appointment. Whoever had organized this idea that giving out snacks instead of doing your job and putting me through in a timely manner us what you should do you need to change jobs.
Most absolutely horrible service I have experienced. From the last time I came over to my appointment with Dr. Karp that I actually had a very nice young lady updating all the patients and constantly on top of everything you could tell that there was care there this time I was offered snacks like if we are dogs and leave us to our luck in the endless wait. I do know why Bascom Palmer is number one because you could have the best Doctors but if there us no good service it is absolutely the worse a place to go.
I waited over 4 hours and before it would be different because a nice young lady would come around all the time and continue updates and also if there would be any issues advise of them that would at least make the wait more bearable because you actually have the constant care of someone who truly cares this young lady Esther was amazing and when I came this last time and I asked for her they told me she was no longer there it is a shame because she was the true meaning of Patient Experience and how she cared and handled each and every situation and made the experience of everyone's situation. Seamless.

I regret believing this site. The first time I reached this site is through Google. It looks reputable and I believe everything they write especially about Liver Cirrhosis. They claim that it's irreversible and suggest common treatment. But there is a cure. A proven cure that the disease can be cured and reversible. But again they belittle the cure in their article. Come on people. Don't trust WebMD. They are sponsored by big pharmacies, and certain doctors that will only treat you or make you sicker and make money. There's alternative to all your disease. Right diet and the use of herbs. Old generations can live up to 100 happily because of the righ lifestyle, diet and herbs. It's FREE.

Dr. Dung Nguyen is a plastic surgeon at Stanford. I was a breast cancer patient there. She failed to place a right side breast implant for symmetry on two separate occasions. There was no valid reason for this. She also used a textured gummy bear implant on my left reconstructed side without telling me about the serious risk of BIA-ALCL. Other options were never discussed either. I now will need to go through a fourth corrective surgery elsewhere. I expected high quality care and honest communication from this plastic surgeon. This experience has been very upsetting and I do not recommend her.

I have been a patient of Dr James Mark Anderson of the Health Care Associates of Irving, Texas for good 30 years. Last few years they must have too many patients and not enough trained staff. Last year went in for yearly physical and I was not told that my EKG test was negative. I was told that it had been 6 years since my last stress test and that it is time to have another one. I decided not to have the test. If I had known that my EKG was negative, I would of had stress test. The only way I knew about the EKG results was several months later I just happened to look at my health care portal and saw the results. Just recent I had lumps in one of my breast so they sent me to have breast abreast ultra sound and the Dr. that did the ultra sound said I needed to follow up with a breast MRI. It took the Dr. office about 6 weeks to get correct form and insurance authorization form sent in so I could have my MRI. Well as of today they called me and said form was corrected and sent in but still waiting on insurance to send them authorization number. I went ahead and made appointment for two weeks out for MRI. Maybe they will have everything done by then. They don't seem to care about patient health. Hope I don't have breast cancer. Because of the time I have had to wait on Dr. staff I sure the cancer would have advanced from the waiting time. Will send another review on results.

My review is on the office assistant for Dr. Price, Caroline. She is unhelpful, no follow-up on her part. My husband who has MS and requires medications for the rest of his life to be renewed annually in April. He sees Dr. Price at the very least every January/February for his annual visit. It takes a good month (30+ days) for a new prescription to be faxed to the Specially Pharmacist, then to be clarified, then other reasons it may not be accepted. Call Caroline, she promises to send a message to the Dr. Does not follow up with patient regarding any updates. Is unwilling to call the Pharmacist herself to see what they need.
We have been with the Hartford Neurology practice for 15 years and have dealt with different Dr. Assistants over the years but Caroline is the absolute most inexperienced thus far. I can't imagine if we needed anything more from Dr. Price's office other than an annual visit and a prescription refill.
