WGT Media Reviews Summary

The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with customers frequently praising the game's graphics and overall fun factor. However, significant concerns overshadow these positives, particularly regarding customer service and game consistency. Many users report frustrating technical issues, such as glitches and freezing, which detract from the gaming experience. Additionally, complaints about perceived unfairness in gameplay and a lack of effective support from the company highlight a troubling customer service approach. Overall, while the game has potential, the prevailing sentiment suggests that unresolved issues and inadequate support are major deterrents for players.

A reprieve from WGT
September 10, 2016

Anyone who has had the misfortune of playing WGT and getting that awful feeling of violation. There is a reprieve. It's called Golf Star for Android by Com2us USA hosted by Hive (not sure if on iphone)(I use an android emulator on my laptop for anyone who only wishes to play on pc). This is the best game. No rip off tactics and you do not need to spend money to play at a high level. I am a lvl 43 and ranked Pro and I just now decided to buy a VIP membership (allows you to compete in certain events along with other extras) because I love the game so much. Although they have balls and other material that disappear after using them, they are extras and *YOU DO NOT NEED THEM* but of course will give you more distance/backspin etc. The best thing is you don't even need to spend real money to get them. Just play. The gave gives away a ton of free stuff (believe me you don't need them; although, I have not competed in a World Championship yet). You can find the game on Google Play Store. Thanks Come2us/Hive.

For anyone wondering, no I do not work for the company. I just for years wished someone would develop a good golf game that would put WGT to shame. Now it is year. :)

I agree withh all bad reveiws here. At first i played i thought this is a cool fair game, won plenty of players to begin with, then as expected it got harder but i thought ok will have to get better. But i found i could not get passed a certain lvl, also i found as i was running out of coins the lower down lvls were getting harder it seemed to my mind to waste my coins, so i thought i would try buying some clubs spent £15 only to find i played worse with the new clubs and hit no further, plus shots fell short even though i hit the correctly, the the game has tricks to give you disadvantages like extremely high angle looking down on greens which are completley useless and only there to make you lose your coins, another really annoying thing it does is give you a false judgement you think you hit the ball 10 yards but it will only go 4 yards but over hit the ball slightly suddenly ball will go 50 yards past hole or greens run like ice or the wind suddenley does not work, i will never spend anymore money on a game which is so geared at screwing people over, a shame as it could be an extremeley good game if it was fairer and cheaper for the prices they expect you to pay you could have a custom made set of real golf clubs!

I have decided - no more buying balls/ clubs. I will only use this site for a time pass from now on. This is a complete rip off. The lifetime of balls is a complete joke only designed to rip you off and they make continuous money. Plus the dirty tricks they constantly employ in the game. This is not golf. Golf is a much better and professional sport but these crooks made it a money laundering machine here.
There is no regard for your skills on using the controls and play golf. It is they who decide who each of your shots/putts go. It is they decide who can / should and will Win or who will and should lose. You will be forced to lose balls at regular intervals.

Absolute joke. And PLEASE DO NOT PUT A PENNY.

Unless you want those phony titles and skill level titles etc. I have lost so much money on this site and regretting now. I can't really say much other than - please do not spend money - play real golf using the same money with real clubs and real balls. You will have much more value for your money and time. You can really get good clubs and balls with the same money in real life.

I believe people are correct about this game. If your not spending money and only buying with the free credits you earn, the game deteriorates. I've purchased everything by earning free credits. I have never spent any cash directly with them and with that change in april, I rarely win. It's become a pay or no play game. Not worth your time!

A Bunch of Crooks
July 9, 2016

This site has nothing to do with the etiquette of Golf. This is basically a bunch of crooks behind a keyboard cooking up ways to get you to keep adding charges to your credit card. Having to continually purchase balls is bull$#*!. If you don't play every day then you can't accrue the points needed to advance to the next levels. I can't count how many times my session timed out because of their popups telling me that my internet connection has become corrupted. But for whatever reason, my ROKU has no issues streaming videos during these error messages. This smells like a bunch a greedy bastards who don't give a damn about golf, they are only interested in finding ways to get you to part with your money. The only salvation is if this business is sold to a company that truly cares about it's customers.

WGT will drive you nuts. Crooked as it gets. Don't be a chump.

Here is some of how they operate. First they will draw you in with free play. They will give you morsels of encouragement. As you progress and become a contender things will change if you do not pay them any real cash for upgrades in equipment, accessories, etc.
Do you want to pay cash for something that does not really exist?
"A fool and their money are soon parted".
What will happen is, when you get good at it, if you are playing against paying customers, and you are in contention to win the match, you can not make a putt if your life depended on it. You will miss a tap in from 4 inches. Don't believe it? Give it a try WITHOUT paying them a single dime. Good luck.

WGT SUCKS!
May 29, 2016

I've about had it with this $#*!ing WGT crap! Can't tell you how many times I've started the game, only to sit there and wait, and wait and wait for it to load (no it's not my phone) then it says connection failed return to homepage and of course you lose the God damn credits. Really $#*!ing frustrating! I'm about to uninstall this crap. WGT is getting worse and worse. Happened to me again just a little bit ago when I was having one of the best games ever. $#*! WGT! :(

A golf game who looks like programmed in 2000 and costs tons of Dollars - STAY AWAY! Be warned. WGT are thieves... you only can get better by buying overpriced balls and other stuff like driver - wedges a. S. o... its only a lousy programmed flash game who costs more then the actual PGA Tour Golf by EA Sports! I hate this site...! Also winning there is controlled by WGT. You cant win - be sure about it...!

Stay off this site... you'll end up paying more than you would for a powerful gaming console, just to maintain the cost of their "virtual" golf balls and clubs. Don't bother!

First off, the courses and graphics are fabulous. Truly! They get a star for that alone.

But here's the thing. I've played plenty of Free-to-Pay/Pay-to-Win games. And they always end in about the same complaints. OP players who pour thousands of dollars into an online game. I get it. But of those games I've played, I have never... I mean NEVER... played one where I had to spend money the first day after completing a tutorial. They don't even give you a beginner's driver! You "rent" it. For 9 holes. Then you can't even play anymore. I'm sorry, but I simply do not want to play this game that badly.

Get real, WGT.

Then I come here, and see all these complaints and, Oh right! It makes perfect sense. Glad I didn't invest money in this, and not too much time either.

I mistakenly opened 2 accounts. When I realized it I contacted wgt to close one down. In WGT's Terms and Conditions it clearly states the first account opened is the one that stays open. All other accounts get closed. Not this time. They closed down the first account that i opened and had purched numerous new clubs under and when I pointed their terms and conditions out to them they shut both accounts down and won't give me the information to contact a Manager.

Rigged games
March 19, 2016

I have played long enough to make legend and invested 100's of dollars (thoughtlessly) playing this game before I realized that the winner of the matches are controlled not by play but by wgt. I'm not stupid but yes I am foolish for playing a rigged game and wasting my money. I would really enjoy the game if it was not controlled play by wgt. I wish I could get my money back and I would not play this game again. Just wanted to let everyone know how it is. You can play and find out yourself but don't waste your money please. If you do play, keep account of your matches each day and you will find out yourself. The game is rigged, plain and simple

WGT is only after one thing... Your cash! There are cheats available, and many players use them to get incredibly low scores thus not giving good players a chance. The game is incredibly rigged to encourage you to spend money. That's not what golf is all about. Golf is a great sport, but this game steal that greatness!

Seems designed just to squeeze money from players. Balls are taken out of play for no apparent reason. In my opinion I got shorted at least one ball on two occasions.

I have been playing this game on a daily basis for about two weeks. I have not bought any additional credits. So far I have earned enough credits to upgrade my driver and my putter and I have earned a few better quality golf balls. Today I made it to 'professional' ranking. This has taken considerable time and effort, about an hour a day on average and there have been frustrations but no more than would be required to make advances if one was learning how to play real golf. At one point it crossed my mind that perhaps the game was rigged and it was impossible to progress without buying credits but I persevered and I have proved to my own satisfaction that the game is challenging but fair. I can only speak as I find and I am sorry that other people publishing reviews here have not been able to get the same sense of achievement and satisfaction I have gained from persevering with this game. All I can say is, keep trying, if you have the skills and patience, you will succeed.

I couldn't agree more with some of the comments. This is one cheating, manipulating, and money hungry game. Please Please do not donate to the screwed up game. Take the money and play real golf, buy your significant other something special, buy your child their favorite toy. Just don't play this game. There is nothing FREE about this game. You can see how it controls the game, jerky meters, which they say is the player problem, I call BS, it is their server or game. They control the flight of the ball so you loose them and need to buy more. They pick the score and winner of each game, they tell you to practice. Again BS. Example, I have missed 1 foot putts because of their control, they make the ball lip out and travel twice as far away as the putt you had. They are BIG time cheaters and manipulators. The gamin commission should close them down and make them pay back what they have stolen..
