The game is totally out of control. A drive, 10 mile an hour wind in your face, club says 255, hit it flush and it goes 255... no wind resistance, next show, 230 yards, club shows 227, hit flush, goes 190, for the same 10 mile per hour wind... next time I use the same wood, the balls goes 265 yards... no sense to what is happening... every third shot from a bunker (which every ball goes into no matter how close or great a shot I take) does what the meter shows, the rest flub back into the sand or go 30 yards over the green... total sh*t show and I did spend some money to get the good clubs... If I don't use the most expensive balls, the clubs work the same as the free ones... if I do spend the money on the balls, they are like magnets out of bounds and into the water... I have been back to this game 3 or 4 times hoping for better changes, but now I am done with it... I'm not a scratch golf in real life and don't expect to be in the game, but the difference in what is expected (after playing a lot) and the results can't be defined as conditions, wind or unlucky bounced...

Most negative reviews are from people who lost a match or 2 in the game. For real reviews you need to look-up the game on Apple App store or Google Play.
There is no other golf game on web or mobile that allows you to play on real golf courses. The game play and even the equipment in the game is designed to mimic real golf.
And as in real life golf, better equipment gets better results (which is not to say that someone with the best equipment can actually outperform someone with higher skill.!)

Poor website, swing meter erratic, you buy slow meter balls, and after you hit them a few times they speed up, so, you cannot control, them, therefore you lose you balls in the brush or the wáter and you have to buy more.
You wite in the customer service, always get the same response, clear your cache memory, place your graphics on médium, do not play the game on full screen, minimize all other open programs including WGT sign on page. NOTING WORKS. They know they have problems. I have high speed internet with 54MPS connection and it still is so erratic it is unplayable.
These scumbags, need more powerful servers, and they need to address their software problems, WGT has been like this since they began, it has not improved at all.
Maybe a class action lawsuit would get thier $#*!ing attention.
I have benn playing for years, am a level 70 Master with a 66.75 stroke average, yet they will not advance me to the next level of TOUR Master even though my scores are lower than other Tour Masters.
The just want us to keep buying thier bull$#*! golf balls, which do not work as advertised due to the $#*!ed up swing meter.
The game is advertised as enjoyable, THIS is false advertising.

You do not own your player or credits with WGT even if you buy the credits. I played the game for nearly 3 years. Many idiots on the site but the biggest ones are the management at WGT. Yes, I had multiple accounts but that is not listed in their terms and conditions. Other players called me directly to help them learn the game so I began asking for fees for that. I never collected any. WGT disabled all my accounts with no warning. The combined accounts had over 125,000 credits on them. They should have just told me instead of disabling all my accounts. They are thieves and cheats as far as I am concerned. Many countries in the world have little or no access to the earned free credits and have to pay for them. I am glad i never spent any money on the game but I now have 4 fully equipped players at Legend tier and on level 92 that I can no longer play on. I am not interested in starting all over again. It's a real shame that WGT has such terrible business practices.

Lucky I did not spend a lot of money on WGT. A couple of weeks after I joined, I played in a tournament and placed 23rd. The description of the event stated that the top 70 players from each lvl would win a portion of the prize pool; however, after the tournament, I did not receive a reward. I asked why. The answer was, that the top 70 players from expert and above (I was amateur) would receive a piece of the prize pool. I took a screen shot of the tournament description and sent it to them. They responded with, "yeah, that was supposed to have been changed."

If it is a free site and I was eligible to participate in the tournament, then why wouldn't I receive a prize for placing in the top 70 and why would they want to change that rule? Well, because they want you to spend money on clubs and balls before hand so that if you win, they haven't given you anything anyway. Lucky only spent $10. I told them no prob, I would not be back and I was taking my friends with me. None of us have been back. That was a year ago.

World Golf Tour is an online program where you can play virtual golf rounds. It touts itself as being "free" for anyone who joins as a member. What they don't tell you is that in order to actually enjoy the game you have to spend $$$ to purchase balls and clubs that hit reasonably well. The best part about this completely customer-hostile site and its employees is that the clubs and balls you buy with money depreciate over time. You buy a driver for $8 they will buy it back for $2 almost immediately. Balls you purchase last only a game or two and must be constantly replenished because the free balls and clubs are extremely hard to control, by design.

Here's the worst part: WGT Customer Service is consistently hostile, unresponsive, and not helpful, and submitting complaints are grounds for deletion of your account. In my experience with WGT, when I reported a programming fault to WGT, they did nothing to remedy it. Their solution to deal with complaints was to terminate my account.

My solution is simple: I will file a credit card chargeback for all the money I spent on this game, and I encourage anyone else who has experienced WGT's poor customer service to do the same.

They cannot fix errors made by them. After spending hundreds of dollars they reranked chosen few so they could no longer compete. Stated they could not change status of a player once they changed them. I was one of the unlucky (reason unknown) to be ranked as Legend. My Average 63 at time. Hundreds of players with lower average kept tour master rating thus able to compete. I was informed that the only way to go back was start all over. Thus I would have to respend hundreds, establish new mail account, and reregister all my friends. To reach the level I had reached that took well over a hundred dollars and nearly one year. They offered me $50 to do it. They can manipulate any player they want thus causing the same problems to anyone else. I cannot count the players who also got hurt and complained on their site about who they chose and why.
I really enjoyed the game but the cost and ongoing problems with the people running it is ridiculous.
