After 7 years with wix I regret it. For many reasons but the worst is my site is hacked showing spam and wix have not helped or responded to me.
We can't trust trustpilot reviews about Wix or many other sites. Clearly others have experienced the same. As a long term customer I have been cheated by Wix for all the same reasons below I need not list. Go get wordpress instead, biggest mistake for me was using Wix.
Wix for the most part is great for someone trying to sell the pot holders they make or for someone with a niche market but other than that I'd either build a DNN site yourself (much more up to date modules) or just use ecrater.com.
My biggest complaint would be is that they nickel and dime you to death and place ads on pages that you will be working on most of the time causing slow load and delays in your work. They don't just put ads on the dash board they place them on pages like orders or other important pages so do not be in a hurry.
My other complaint is they are trying to reinvent the wheel. Their modules are so old fashioned or were developed by someone else so long ago there is no reason theirs don't work properly,...stuff like you would have seen when IBUYSPY was put out there by Microsoft they can't get right or don't even offer. Simple stuff like the abbreviation for states being populated, just seems like a bunch of not so bright people work there in my opinion.
It is better than nothing and if you don't have the skills or time it's a good temporary solution or if you could go to ecrater.com they've been around since IBUYSPY...
I tried Wix to build a website, I was able to create a site; after many hours of work It looked ok. Then I realized it was down all the time. Almost every time I checked it was down. I didn't even try to get my money back I just stopped using it. I definitely will never get my time back! I forgot about them. Then I saw that one year later they took more money from my bank account! What? How can they do that? I never agreed to be billed yearly! It was a one time thing! I logged onto their site to try to get them to stop but there was no way! I contacted the bank and they said I would have to change my account number in order to stop them. They took money from my bank three times before they stopped. The only way to deal with the is to sue them but they are in Israel! I'm not traveling to the other side of the earth to sue. I'm just glad they stopped. They suck in so many ways!
Terrible customer service. They offer no support other than AI chat. I signed up for services over 2 years ago. When my domain expired I no longer had access to my emails and my website. They just charged me $600 for a renewal. Of services I cannot use. A
They will not refund because it's a renewal. It's disgusting that they can do this and not offer any solution. The website itself was terrible. I want to speak to a person and I want my money back! 😡 If I could give negative stars I would.
Try to navigate their site and get a live person...it will take you forever to figure it out and that's after over an hour of trying on an iPhone only to realize that you have to be on a desktop. GD their service sucks!
My company was closed during covid, and honestly, I forgot about this. I was sent an email about 10 days prior to my premium plan renewal, and about the same time, I was contacted with a credit card fraud alert. Wix was trying to use my credit card, which had since renewed, so they were guessing at the new expiration date and did not have the correct CID. When I looked at my WIX account, the box was checked for automatic renewal and they were trying to put a charge through for 2 more years. Keep in mind that it is still 10 days before the actual renewal date. I requested a cancellation online, got a confirming email and thought all was well and that they would reverse the charge. Nope! They continued to process the charge, and 3 days later I went to check and WIX had gone ahead and renewed for 2 more years. It is not easy to find anybody to speak with, since they have essentially NO customer service. I finally got a person in SF who offered to request a refund, but was doubtful since they only will refund after a 14 day trial. I am still 7 days prior to the renewal date, but he stated that the auto-renew box was checked. He tried to talk me out of disputing the charge with my credit card company (I think it costs them when you do that). I disputed anyway because they did not have the correct expiration date or CID, and my bank reversed the charge. If it weren't that they were dishonestly charging my credit card, I would have been stuck paying in excess of $325 since apparently they do not honor ANY cancellations for existing customers. Not an acceptable business model if you ask me.
Now you can't get Wix support for free at all, even through chat. I pay hundreds of dollars fo premium plans and now they want $55 for the occasional support I need. I am thoroughly disgusted with their overall business model and I rue the day a "Consultant" convinced me to go with them. Another six months until my plan expires and i am gone.They will however be happy to keep the unused remainder of my other service payments. Don't ever pay for yearly, you can never change to monthly.
I got suckered into paying before I could continue exploring the capabilities of this platform, due to the fact that I had a domain I needed to transfer over. Was unsuccessful in transferring the domain. And then ultimately I did not find their model as user friendly as other platforms. Could not find a customer service number anywhere to speak to a live representative for any of my problems. Finally found where I could request a refund only to receive an email shortly after stating it was denied, but did not offer a reason. Very disappointed with this company. Honestly, sqarespace is much better. I'm out hard earned money for nothing but I'll chalk it up to a blessing in disguise.
I paid for a website and bec my phone changed, I couldn't log into the account. I am still locked out, 3 months later. They also charged me without notice, the renewal date (as per THEIR email) was Jan 20, and they charged me in Dec AND on Jan 8. It's impossible to contact anyone, and they refuse to give me access to the account that I AM PAYING for, unless I send them a copy of my passport or drivers licence! Absolutely ridiculous! I need to block my credit card now, because it sounds from others that they will continue to charge you. I am flabbergasted how this company is allowed to operate. They are unethical and fraudulent. NEVER EVER even contemplate using them!
This company is extremely unprofessional. I had one customer to report a fraudulent claim. I showed documentation showing that the queen was fraudulent. And for the last two months they've been holding all of my deposit with people who are booking with me. They keep making excuses on why they won't release my money. I've been in business for five years and using wix for a year. They asked me to send over all of my documentations from the state that I live in to show that my business is legit I did. They also asked me for my social media business information I sent that in also and they are still making excuses on why they won't release my money. But still charging my account each month. Everyone that I have spoken to has been rude and unprofessional. And won't tell me what's the excuse on them. Keeping my deposits that my customers are booking with me.
In the past I would have at least designed 20-30 websites with them but now they are complete useless
I signed up for Wix for a small business I've been operating. I thought a website might help to bring in more customers and drive up revenues. I quickly discovered that as a non-techy person their platform is just too difficult to figure out. It would take too much time figuring out how to run their platform to make it worth while for me. I've been trying to cancel but of course there's no such thing as a 'cancel' option anywhere once you're signed up and they ignore messages asking to have your monthly subscription cancelled. The end result so far is they have not delivered a single dollar to my business but they have cost me $200 so far with no luck cancelling. I'm going to have to ask AmEx to block future charges from this company. Very disappointed -- don't recommend Wix at all.

I had vista print for years and a greta website then they partnered with wix and my main pages crashed just disappeared! It's been a full month if daily phone calls and escalations but nobody can install my old pages on wix. There's nobody there to do the work or they don't know how they don't are they give me the run around and their system doesn't support the high level of features I had on those two pages. I will be suing them. Those pages were the registration pages for students for my school. I have new students with no paperwork now! They had many cool features easily I made with vista print which is a small business for websites and I wouldn't use again as they gave accidentally deleted pages in the past which is horrific. I see all wix reviews online are fake so that's one thing they are good at making fake reviews! If you can't add a review there it's fake. This one I can add a review here and they have an F rating, their real rating!, vs A+.
Wix made a $510 unauthorized charge to my credit card account. I did not have my account set up for auto renew. This was a large amount to charge and I should've been sent a courtesy email to notify me of an impending charge. There was no way to contact customer service at Wix. Not a contact number to be found. I'm currently disputing the charge as fraudulent and had to cancel my card number to protect my account. Be warned before you consider doing business with Wix. They use deceptive business practices to capture your credit card info and make unauthorized charges. Defaulting a customer's account to auto renew should not be a legal practice.
My developer moved my website from Dropfunnels to Wix. I enjoyed great customer support with Dropfunnels but thefirst time I encountered a need for Wix technical support I realized she had made a mistake, I had a time sensitive issue that needed resolved before I could launch a major campaign, When I was finally able to get through their useless chat bots and get an email response, it was so generic and useless that I wondered it it was also a bot masquerading as a human, It is impossible to get real time help with real time problems,.
I decided to close my account with wix. I had no idea the hoops I would have to go through to achieve it. The number of steps required to get to the page where you are presented with a Cancel button is ridiculous. Even then, you have several more steps before that process is completed.
Once that part is completed, you must go back to the beginning and choose each service and cancel them individually, repeating the same steps you already completed.
Finally, you must navigate to the payment method and cancel the recurring payment which requires you to select a reason at which point you can finally click the cancel now button.
I had chatted with someone prior to my auto renewal date and explicitly told them to cancel my account and make sure I never get charged again. I rcvd an email stating that it was done.
On the renewal date, I was charged again. I spent 20 mins trying to find how to contact someone. When I finally was connected to a person, it took another 20 mins to get to the point of them cancelling the auto renewal, again and was told it would take up to 20 business days to rcv my refund.
Companies that foster this kind of BS should be shut down and fined for their crap.

They changed my annual prepaid plan midway through to only include 1/10 of what I prepaid for with zero notice. Customer service was awful and they justified the changes because "we ran an ad about the new plans" which I NEVER saw and wouldn't have thought that would have affected my PREPAID annual plan. You probably allow them to do whatever they want when you accept the terms and conditions. I switched to Showit and love it WAY more. Don't waste your time on this shady provider!
Wix is absolute garbage. My business number has been hacked, and it is repeatedly calling random people over and over, harassing them. They then called me back to tell me to stop calling, or they will report me to the authorities. I have notified Wix of this, and all they told me was to "block the numbers" or "purchase a new number."
First off, this is a serious security breach on Wix's end. How has someone gotten access to my business number, and is using it to call and harass people!? Second, I have been blocking the numbers, but more numbers keep calling me for 12 hours straight, leaving messages that my business line is harassing them. THIRD, I SHOULD NOT have to purchase another number! Are you kidding me, Wix?
This is impacting my business, my livelihood, and my source of income. Don't use Wix. They are completely unhelpful. They just take your money and disregard any concerns, especially serious ones.
I "opened" an online store, spent a fortune on marketing, only to find that a "technical issue" was preventing anyone from purchasing. After 5 days, all I'm getting told is that they are working on it and that there is nobody I can talk to or complain about. THE WORST MISTAKE I EVER MADE!

Then I tried this morning, and there is a new recording that saids that they will next be open on Tuesday feb Feb 21st! So. Fuck. Seriously. We can't afford to rebuild our whole site again with another service! And i've/we've had WIX for over 6yrs now..

Answer: One of the things that really bother me with Wix (besides them being so focused on extracting money from their customers that they tend to forget about everything else) is that they make these changes and do not care one bit to inform their customers that they are going to do this, so all of the sudden one has a site that doesn't function and unless one keeps checking daily whether everything still works as it should, one end up having problems. That's one of the reasons why I'm out and do not plan to use them much longer.
