Yahoo Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily driven by concerns over perceived political bias in content and inadequate customer support. Many users express frustration regarding account management issues, including unexpected charges and difficulties accessing accounts, which they feel are symptomatic of poor service. Conversely, some reviews highlight the platform's ability to facilitate user comments, suggesting a commitment to free speech. However, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a decline in trust and credibility, with calls for greater accountability and transparency in both content and customer service practices.

Yahoo is currently one of the worst sites for having an email account. Mails keep missing very often or don't get sent. I am really having problems with my email and nobody cares or does anything. I am starting to feel really sorry for them and if I didn't have so many contacts in my yahoo, I would instantly switch to gmail. I will give them one more chance tough.

One of the most reliable websites. The trending news and the pics on the website are superb. Way to go Yahoo!

Yahoo sites are poorly organized. The homepage shows news articles, but the articles are not categorized in any way so if you are looking for a specific news subject (e.g. business, technology, etc.) you have to hunt for it. I used to read articles on Yahoo, but now it's actually easier and faster to do a web engine search by typing in the type of news you're looking for. In the past I could simply click on a category on the Yahoo homepage, but not so anymore.

Yahoo mail is tedious. They have improved the spam filters some. I don't get as much obvious spam as before. The bad side is that now some spam is designated as e-mails from Yahoo "sponsors" that you cannot delete. There was an option to stop receiving messages from sponsors a few months ago which I went through the steps to opt out, but that option was just for show since I still get them. These sponsor spams show up at the top of the list of e-mails. Also it takes forever for spam filters that you create to start working. I made a filter for these pharmacy spams and set it up for them to go to the trash folder. I kept getting them in my inbox for about a month after creating the filter.

Another thing I experienced was getting automatically signed up for Yahoo mail alerts about stories. They tracked the type of articles I read on the homepage and sent me tons of these alert messages. I went through the option of opting out and it said it would take more than a full week to change my preferences and to stop receiving them. Funny, it took them about a few days to start sending them to me, but when I want them to stop it takes a lot longer.

Yahoo Flickr is hard to go through. Yes, the format looks very pretty, but again, it's hard to use.

While Yahoo looks pretty, I want something that's also user friendly. I don't want to have to click on a bunch of items to figure out what to do. Years ago it had a very user friendly format, but this has changed. I feel like I did when I first got windows 8: lots of pretty colors, but that's it.

I have a Yahoo account for more than 10 years. Really good, no spam and spying like Gmail, I feel that my emails are safe. They did some mistakes over time, when doing upgrades, but who doesn't?

This website stinks
November 20, 2013

It has poor security for their users(it was hacked) and it has the crappiest news stories on the web. They post the same story over and over again with a different headline like an Alzheimer's patient.

Well, I don't care for the new interface compared to what it was a few years ago, it seems more cluttered and annoying. I get that they are trying to streamline everything nowadays, but I just like how it used to look. Still a great service, and I don't get as much spam as my other emails.

Well, it's official
September 24, 2013

Well, it's official. Yahoo.com has officially become "Home Base" to every "SCAMMER, SPAMMER, LOW LIFE" on the planet! Personally I believe that they encourage deviant behavior, give out email addresses like candy and encourage the Spammer, Scammer mentality. Which by the way is a average IQ equal to a box of rocks. As a company, they share the same responsibility as the low life's they hand out email address's to.
My perfect day would be hearing that the entire company "burned in hell"...
Out of 200 or so junk emails I receive weekly, at least 88% are yahoo.com.

What bothers me about Yahoo is that they keep changing the home page. Just when you get a handle on things they mess it up again. This morning when I signed in I couldn't belive their "new and improved" home page that looks like it was designed by a 10 year old with colors all over the place that don't match, and advertisements that only slow down my computer.

As a reader there, I can say there is a lot of interesting material there, and a lot of talent, though you have to go searching. And that searching, along with feedback given to me by a somewhat successful contributor over there, is why I can't give it the highest review. There is no specific way to find the most quality and credible stuff. Also, they don't help their writers as much as they could. Promotion is basically up to you. When they highlight an article, that can help, but even when you submit to an assignment, the odds of getting featured are small and no one seems to know what can help you get featured. Nevertheless, as a reader or contributor, this is a viable outlet with a high profile.

User for over 15 years, mainly of their email service. Never had any significant problems. They finally fixed some annoying "features" and now it works very well.

You know, if companies like "Yahoo" would quit handing out email accounts like candy at a "candy store", at least half of all the "junk mail" would disappear from all our inbox's. Is there no "corporate responsibility" anymore?

Very good news website where as long as you don't swear, your comments are added and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I have noticed that on many issues, other news sites (especially newspapers) either do not allow comments at all, delete them very quickly, or take out the comments they don't like.

I think Yahoo stands above the rest for it's ability to uphold democracy and freedom of speech. Well done Yahoo!
