After seeing that ACE hires mask-holes that actually ATTACK shoppers and refuse entry to those who choose not to wear a mask, I'll never shop there again. We aren't a communist country.
Cashier was terrible. Absolutely NO customer service. She should be stocking shelves,not waiting on customers. This is coming from a customer who spent 40 years as a customer service rep.
Don't shop here or work here. They are very very rude and unprofessional. They sit at the hub and laugh and make fun of other employees and customers. The two female managers are the worst. Do yourself a favor and go to Stringhams.
Stopped in for a special request and Al Clark stepped up to assist me. Not only did he have an idea to meet my needs but also help me figure how to mount it. Enjoyed meeting Al and very glad he came up with such a great answer to my problem.
As of July 27,2023 this program is less of a benefit. The new rewards coupon is Get $5.00 off of $30.00 spent regular price items. This just change from Get $5.00 when spending $20.00.
And a while back it was to get $7.00 off. Does not work with sales items.

We all know we have been stuck with higher prices do to someones inflation economics. But cost have come down, but retailers are not pass their lower cost to the consumer.
Bought what I thought was Delta washers at five dollars and after receiving attitude from the bandit running the register, it was not five dollars, when I got home it was ten dollars for a two dollar part, I received my ten dollar education at Ace hardware, this is a case of bait and switch, Vermillion, SD ******* BEWARE! That is not ten dollars worth of parts, maybe $1.89
Website said they had part that I needed, purchased online and told at the store within 10 minutes that part wasn't at store after all. Then they held the money from that purchase for 7 days. Absolutely unacceptable.
I have a home project I'm working on. I have been back n fourth to ace with questions and more materials needed. They have been very helpful and so patient. I needed a certain stain to match a color. Manteca didn't have it so they sent me to Ripon. Bad idea, the lady who help me there gave us the wrong mixI went back to manteca ace and they were more than willing to help get exactly what I needed. It wasn't Ez since they had problems with the mix. After trying many times we went with a basic color. My point is. Manteca was more than patient and very helpful with making sure we were happy. I won't go to any other hardware storeManteca is the place. Props to Logan there for all the help. Definitely a 10 star
Was told to leave the store after asking them to put up an American flag out front. Was told I was harassing the employees. Disgusting.
This store is run by a man ( can NOT call him a gentleman) who operates by the motto " welcome to 2023, that's how the world is" when asked to do the right thing and stand behind his stores reputation, products, and his employees. He is a crook and the store is run accordingly. The good employees who work there are overshadowed by the ridiculousness of the rest of the situation. Do not go there. Do not try to convince yourself that you are supporting a local small business. Do not be taken in by it's midtown convenience. Drive the extra few miles to another Ace. I should take him to small claims court but even that is not worth it. Really, really, nothing about this store is worth it…. Not worth it.
I ordered a gift online because I was in a neighboring town and it said curbside pickup today. I ordered. It is already on my credit card statement. Went to pick it up and the store had no idea of any order. They searched their system and said it is under review. I said it's on my statement already. They said large online purchases take up to 24hrs to review and process. It should not be guaranteed unless it can be completed. So disappointed. This was a birthday present for someone. Spent over $1000. Told them to cancel my purchase and I will find someone else to order through!

After a fairly big purchase I was interested in how the reward program worked. The cashier just said the store had nothing to do with it? I lost all respect for my local store in Pottsville pa. She was so rude. The customers in line saw this. A simple question all I wanted was information. Going back to Lowes
Ordered an ego trimmer with battery for $199 on sale. Bought the trimmer string. Free shipping to store. They canceled my order for no reason and they still have it listed. Now the shipping is over 200 dollars lol. Is it being shipped from mars? They did shop the string however! Won't do business with them again.
On 5/22/23 I purchased a GE Universal remote to control my Vizio TV it would not set up or work the TV, today I went to return the remote for credit and was told I could not return it because I had opened the package. I told the clerk if I did not open it, I would never know if it would work or not. I was rather shocked to see that an Ace Hardware store would not credit me for the remote that I purchased that would not do what I bought it to do. He also told me I did not read the directions correctly; I told him the directions were inside the package I had to open it to get them. I told the man that I would never buy anything else from that store. He went on to tell me he could not resale it because it had been opened, he said he would lose money and must just throw it away, I told him that was what I was going to have to do. He said if I went to Best Buy and bought something and opened it, they would not take it back. I went on to tell him this was America and most retailers will allow you to return merchandise for a refund. That is just common-sense customer service. At the end of our disagreement regarding the return he told to get out of his store, The price with tax was $9.23 it is a sad day when a store owner would pretty much run a customer off and loose future business over $9.23. The guy was abrasive and confrontational.

These people. Carnivals in town. My place or work was blocked off. So I parked in the small lot by a candy store and a closed theater. Closest spot to the actual one way road. So I go to work at 7:30 am until 12:30 pm on Fridays. I come back and my car had been towed by these evil people that owned apparently this lot at Ace Hardware. Nowhere and I have dated pictures, was there a no parking Ace Hardware customers only tow away zone. I mean what person parks with a clearly marked tow away zone. On the back of the Ace hard ware was a sign stating Ace Hardware customer parking No Overnight parking. Overnight. Ok the sign is not visible from where I was parked. I went back took pictures. So I have no ride in town the three miles to where the car is. I don't live here. After all this trauma on what should have been a happy holiday weekend I am going to change this policy for this business and cut the cord of making money by illegal towing. I have contacted the Corporate office and they are sending me a check for my trouble of the cost of the illegal tow. Not only that but I will personally bury this location in negative reviews.
I tried to purchase an EGO leaf blower using Ace rewards online. Item could not be shipped to local store, only to home. Item was selling for $189.99. Upon checkout, they added $155.56 for shipping to a suburb of Chicago even though Ace Rewards clearly stated free shipping on orders over $50. I called the help line and they said nothing they could do, the computer determines shipping. Now the box probably weighs 12 lbs and isn't that large. Shipping to Afghanistan wouldn't cost that much. I'm done shopping at Ace.
I was distressed doing a DIY job and went to Ace Hardware in Alexandria, VA. They understood my problem and spent nearly an hour solving the problem - sliding shower door sweep into drip rail, educated me that to lubricate, I should use a silicon lubricant. Everyone was extraordinarily patient, professional, and courteous. Would like to give a rating higher than 5 but hopefully my 'thank you' note expresses my gratitude.
Three craftsman power washers all of them sucked and the returns and customer service rude and unhelpful also
Answer: I purchased a quite expensive electric yard tool from ACE, got it home and it would not even assemble properly. That was a problem with the manufacturer, which is Black & Decker, not the hardware store. I try to avoid Black & Decker because of similar problems with their products in the past; the reason I bought this tools was because my wife wanted to use it and has not had any problems with Black & Decker products so I got it home thinking to make my wife happy with the tool. The tool is a string trimmer and it was not possible to install the guard at the bottom of the shaft. Perhaps a hammer would have helped but I don't like having to hammer a brand new tool together to make it work. Ace promptly refunded my money on that one. Another time I purchased an Ego yard tool and got it home and decided it was not what I need so I took it back and my money was right away refunded.
Answer: I am just a customer. I have never bought any gift cards and so have no idea why Ace is not responding properly.
Answer: There may be, I buy things from various sources depending on where I am and so on. In bigger cities there are most likely more competitors than here in this relatively small city. Nonetheless, here, ACE is excellent as far as I am concerned.
