I have used Amazon for years - and I have no major complaints. It's an OK site and usually the prices are very competative. Nothing is perfect but Amazon is near enough for me. I've been using it for long enough to know that any complaints I read are - presumably - few and far between - otherwise, given the amount I buy, I would have experienced at least some problems by now. The review system - maybe started by Amazon? - seems to concentrate seller's minds and also gives buyers a pretty accurate insight into a product's worth - providing you are sophisticated enough to detect false or misleading posts.
But I'm also confused now. I went to this review posting to check my preconceptions that Amazon would have rave reviews and I have seen a few damning ones. So am I right to be turned off by a few damning reviews I've just read about Buyaparcel.com? Now I don't know what to do about them...

I have been with Amazon.com for over 10 years and have never had a negative experience. There are a lot of other online stores that can't make that claim. There have only been two times that I have had to contact customer service - and BOTH times my situation was handled quickly and fairly. After my horrid experience with bidcactus.com - Amazon seems like a dream: 0)
What I love about this site is that the books that I have bought have been at a great price. Also the book sellers are REQUIRED to accept returns and issue REFUNDS. Amazon realizes that something bought off the internet can be vastly different in person and gladly accepts returns.

I have had Amazon for at least several months but was a bit disappointed this time. I ordered an item worth £45 and a fashion book worth £7. I was offered a one-off free next day delivery for the book as a trial of some promotion and ended up paying about £2 more for the book and £11 for the 45 item. Just becarefull always even for a good trusted site.

Amazon.com is one of the best sites I have ever dealt with. I joined the amazon prime membership that gives you among other things free 2 day shipping and over night shipping for about 3 dollars more. Today I found their student program that allows you to signup via your school email and gives you a free year of amazon prime, while I was looking for a link or help to ask if I could combine my two accounts or cancel my old prime accout, I notced an email that was from amazon stateing they had already done this and ontop of that they refunded me for the remainder of the year on my original prime account wich is 79 a year well worth it if you buy a lot for the shipping benifits alone. The refund for fo 76 dollars. Combined with their great products and stuff like this amazon is one of the greates sites on the web today. I just want you to know that i am not getting any compinsation for this review.
