I ordered a £30 book over a year ago. Failed to deliver. Ignored all communications. Failed to respond or resolve. Totally disgusting service and absolute Con Men

I ordered two batches of books from them, and all of them arrived in very solid condition, a few even seemed brand new. Even managed to find hardcover gems for 3.5 euros. Also, their customer service always promptly emails back, always being of help.

I have made 2 orders, 9 books in total, all in good condition and prompt delivery - really pleased with this company! I recommend them to all my book loving friends & family!

The book which I bought from AwesomeBooks through AbeBooks was described thus:
"This book is in very good condition and will be shipped within 24 hours of ordering. The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged. This book has clearly been well maintained and looked after thus far."
This was the actual condition of the book: 1) Book is bent and spine is twisted 2) Bottom corners bumped and coloured with foreign matter. Adjacent fore edge of block also coloured with foreign matter. 3) Binding torn at rear hinge with endpaper poking through. 4) Rear endpaper torn.
I got a refund for the cost of the book, but not for return postage.
Steer well clear of this book seller.

Two of them came from Spain the rest from the UK in various shipping receptacles. All arrived in a speedy manor with about 4/5 on average being in solid condition even if they're a little old, with the other 1/5 being more beat up than I'd like or sometimes a few highlighted sections lol.

Buuuut with the price range I'm usually spending (2.50-7$ cad) for used books I can't really complain.

I ordered 4 books a month ago which never arrived. Their policy says it takes 5-10 days. I asked repeatedly for a refund and they completely ignore me. They have terrible customer service and they are not reliable.

Back in 2020 when I first ordered from them, I got sent some horribly ruined books, then only offered a 50% refund of the price and ca 20% of the shipping cost.
However, more recent experiences have been better: most books have come in decent to excellent condition, and when complaints were necessary, they have been dealt with promptly.
The most common remaining problem seems to be the odd book missing from an order that contains several items - in such cases they have given full refunds with no fuss.

My wife bought a book from awesome books through Amazon. The book arrived with thirty pages having been torn out of the middle despite The seller describing the bookas intact. My wife but the book aside for a few weeks before noticing. Now the seller won't help because we did not spot it within one month. They lied in their ad but we are out the cost of the book as we have to buy another one. We will never buy from them again. Check your orders thoroughly on receipt as you cannot trust this seller.

I get used books in excellent condition and it's sustainability at its best... Just cannot wait till they have their website running smoothly

Over the years I've been buying from them hundreds of books. Books are generally inexpensive or cheaper (new and second hand books).
Book condition varies, but hardcovers are generally in great condition. I've had several in an appalling state but, in the past, they refunded me in full. This is why I'm not too sure why they have such horrible reviews here...
Customer service is quick to respond and generally in your favour. I've had one bad experience with their customer service, but have contacted them so many times I've lost count.
Due to brexit I won't be buying from them as much as I'd like, though. Which is a shame.

I discovered this website long ago and I made till now 3 orders. They all arrive in the estimated time in Portugal. The books came in very good conditions for the prices, some of them completely new and some with few damages but for 3 euros max and some of them in hardcover I think nobody can be angry at that.
I got 2 or 3 books from libraries or with dedicatories which for me did nothing but add story to the book.
