I was told I was limited as to what I could order on my delivery. I specifically stated in my profile I don't eat red meat. Yet, my options included red meat and vegetarian grass stuff! I feel like I am a horse grazing based on the selections.

I requested two of one meal since I wasn't happy with my choices. I was told "no" unable to duplicate a meal in a shipment. Customer service is a BIG waste of time. I just need to use my gift card up and cancel as soon as I can.

I hope there stock plunges!

A friend sent me a "Gift for You" from Blue Apron: a week of food and recipes for a family of 4 -- I tried to redeem the coupon and was required to create an account and put in my credit card number. I called a customer rep to ask if I could redeem my gift without giving my credit card info. Sure, she said, but when the rep walked me through the links and "claim free meals" buttons, they all required my credit card. The rep ended up saying no gift without my credit card. This business model irks the hell out of me, standard though it may be. I'm the type who won't remember to cancel after a week (not to mention the fact that I hate using a credit card online), and the fact that Blue Apron knows this (and counts at least in part on billing rich people who forget to cancel the service) galls me. Blue Apron is convenience for the elitist crowd. I'm not a fan. Oh and did I mention they spammed me with at least an e-mail a day for a full two weeks after I unsubscribed from their e-mail list. Grrrrr...

We had a friend offer us a free week... so we signed up. Our first order was delivered this past Wednesday by FedEx... box was damaged and had to be relabeled but it was delivered on time. Food was packed well but the vinegar had leaked out, I'm sure this was caused by the delivery not being handled correctly during shipment. Anyway we enjoyed our 3 meal very much. The summer squash cakes are fantastic. We are looking forward to our next delivery. If you decide to try it just read the small print, it explains how Blue Apron works.

I worked for blue apron a few months ago. This place is very much unorganized and nasty, dirty and the employees don't care... I watched boxes go out the door that had been put on the floors fell in garbage cans and I saw a manager by the name of Paul use produce out of a filthy garbage can. It was so bad they use to give us free boxes I never wanted one. I also warned my family and friends. They clean the facility when osha or someone important shows up. They are very racist. They use the blacks and Mexicans and lie to them and this keeps drama in the work place. They pay their employees based on the color of their skin not the experience they may have...
So if you got a box with bad produce. Missing items that's why... that place should be shut down... Richmond facility is horrible just Google buzz feed

Burnt out
May 16, 2017

First let me start by saying I love trying new things. I have eaten many different things from across the world, but I am so burnt out on the stuff they send the wife. It's a great concept, but it's almost like they say "what do the warehouses have left over" and turn that into a meal. Here's my complaint. Tonight was going to be home made chicken pot pie. Yummy right? Nope blue apron came in and now we are having ginger goobely gop with Brown kale gravy and African grass seeds. If it wasn't for the price of a good lawyer I would tell her to shove that crap. Blue apron do me a favor and please, please accidentally forget to ship to my house so I can have something normal like meatloaf or Brussels sprouts.

I had 2 weeks of Blue Apron meals and based on that experience I would say stay away!

We had 3 meals per week and after following the directions closely 2 of the 3 meals the first week were INEDIBLE! I am not a picky eater. I love all sorts of strange tastes and foods. But these wound up in the trash (wouldn't even feed it to my dogs.)

Based on that first week I attempted to cancel only to find that even though I delayed my next delivery by an additional week to make sure I had time to try it first. I was not able to cancel my next meal delivery 6 full days in advanced (canceled Friday delivery on Saturday morning.)

So here I was stuck with 3 more meals and dreading it. Once again I followed the directions carefully and only 1 of the 3 new meals was inedible.

Summary: Don't do it. If you do make sure you pause AT LEAST the next 2 deliveries so you have time to try the first before they force you onto another. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I saw Blue Apron's ads on TV, and their marketing is absolutely gorgeous. Everything about it made it look so homely and fun, therefore when I received their discounts or gift cards in the mail, I was always tempted to make an order. I once got a $30 gift card that was supposed to cover (from what I remember) one week or one box.

But there was a minimum that requires me to purchase double the amount, therefore I couldn't use the gift card on its own. On top of that, inputting your payment information would require you to subscribe to them which I didn't want. I wouldn't have mind paying any shipping fees, but luring people to subscribe for a monthly box is just ridiculous.

So like I said, I have tried to give Blue Apron a chance being a new customer because I thought the concept was cool, and their marketing effort made this look like a terrific idea. However, the way they lure people into subscriptions is just really bad. You can't even have a one time offer just to see how the service is. On top of that, their gift cards never cover fully for their product, yet they consistently send me gift cards in the mail. Again, I'd pay the shipping and processing, but I would never pay for a subscription just to use a "gift".

Terrible customer service
Missing ingredients and when you call them they say there is nothing they can do
Menu is ok, not healthy at all though
Packaging is an overkill, a real waste

I would not recommend Blue Apron.
I would recommend Hello Fresh!

Like the company
April 3, 2017

After signing up on the referral of a family member, I read reviews, many of them unfavorable and got scared. BUT--I had NO problems with any missing ingredients, broken packaging, or late deliveries. I only had good experiences with their customer service also! I canceled because of the cost, although I could see doing this again when I don't have a house full of picky eaters! I like what Blue Apron is doing with their company and would recommend them if you are looking for a meal service.

Totally blew it
March 9, 2017

These guys charged me full price for an introductory offer, said the refund would take 7-10 business days to process. Then they forgot half the ingredients in the box, and told me they couldn't resend them because I had already canceled my account for the obvious over charge. I would not recommend them to anyone!

Horrible Experience
March 1, 2017

I am a kind person and believe in KARMA. Two years after canceling my membership, I discovered four different charges over the period of two years of $59.99 for meals I never ordered / nor received. I was completely shocked. No, it's not that I forgot to cancel and received meals I never ordered, I NEVER RECEIVED these meals I was billed for. $240 later they refuse to refund my card for goods not received because their tracking numbers have expired. $240 for NO meals.

There are barley any vegetarian options available and when I went to cancel my account because of that, they customer service was terrible! They told me that I could cancel my acount but they would not refund me for the upcoming weeks food and that if I didnt like I could give it away! Really! Horrible Horrible customer service. I would not recommend Blue Apron to anyone!

I live in a small city and so far my onsite delivery accuracy is at 50% I have complained and they credit my account but I cannot count on their delivery arriving on my chosen day and more than half of the time now it gets delivered to a neighbor who brings it by a day or two or three later, partially or fully de thawed. Ugh, I have to toss the whole mess and wait another week with pessimism that I will receive my order.

Go shopping, if you can order pea pod, find your own ingredients for three recipes. $15 worth of food for $60. So complicated, not worth it at all. Amount of garbage created by this delivery was shocking! Totally not eco friendly nor cost effective. Save your money.

Impossible to cxl
February 12, 2017

The food was okay, the portions were too small, and they make it impossible for you to cancel. Unless you intend on keeping this service forever and would suggest not starting it. You have to send an email for them to send you a response with a link to cancel your account, when you get the link and click on it it takes you to your blue apron account but does not cancel your account it says to follow directions in the directions only say to click the link I have done this several times and they continue to charge me this company is a rip-off

I ordered a meal plan from Blue Apron for my parents. They absolutely loved it! After a week, I meant to cancel my plan, but there was some technical issue that didn't allow the cancellation to process. After working with the people at Blue Apron, they helped cancel my subscription and reimbursed me for the additional weeks that I was charged for. Great food! Great service! I'll definitely be ordering from them again in the future!

I have been a customer for over a year now. Every few weeks items in the box would arrive damaged (leaking, produce damage, etc.). Then this last box sits in another city for 36 extra hours in transit. FedEx states local weather delay (I was in that city that day - there was no delay). Blue Apron assures me that it will arrive in the next few days and it was stored in cool conditions. The package arrives and the meats are at 57F per a thermal thermometer (outside of the safe zone). I email them and went back and forth for three email chains before they would even refund my money for their late delivery and spoiled goods.
Second and last straw was I ordered a gift card for Christmas. On the website it stated "Guaranteed to be shipped by 12/9/16" with a 5-7 business day shipping. This would allow me to receive the card prior to leaving town to my families house. It didn't ship until 12/20/2016 but with the 5-7 business day - now projected to arrive late. I contacted them on 12/10 and was told it would ship prior to 12/15, it didn't. I asked to cancel the order, I was told I was not able to. I asked to switch it over to an E-Gift card, couldn't do that either. Not sure what the Guarantee was, or what I get in return for their botched service. Now I don't wish to refer anyone to Blue Apron. I emailed them on 12/15 and have yet to receive a response. Surprise - they don't care about their customers. AVOID BLUE APRON.
I have tried a few other companies, all have had the same quality of food and ease of recipes. I am now moving on to Home Chef.

Just completed my first "3-meals for two" delivery and have been blown away! I've always loved cooking and Blue Apron removes all the stress in trying to create great meals. No shopping, no forgetting ingredients, and straight forward directions. I work 10-hour days and this system works great for me! There's a bit of work involved (slicing, dicing, etc.), but the trend results are fantastic! I'm hooked!
