I'm Cooking!
May 26, 2016

I've been receiving Blue Apron for a few weeks now and I love it! Normally I would cancel my subscription around this time because I'm a bit of a penny pincher, but Blue Apron is SUCH a great deal! It's convenient, fresh, and incredibly tasty. I've also had to contact customer service for a minor concern and they handled the situation perfectly! I would definitely recommend Blue Apron!

My wife and I tried Blue Apron for a couple weeks. I am a vegetarian and she rarely eats meat so we opted for the vegetarian selections. The price remained the same at approx. $60. So for 3 meals, basically 6 servings, we paid $10 per serving (for veggies and chickpeas as main dishes). I can buy groceries for a week for $60. The time it takes to prepare these meals is quite ridiculous. The time you save by not going to the grocery store is spent in the kitchen toasting nuts and making special sauces which require more effort than it's worth. Although the quality is great, I cannot justify $10 per serving. I am reviewing the vegetarian option only as I have heard good things about the options with meat from my family members.

The instructions are hard to follow and in every box there has been ingredients missing last week I order quiche eggs were not there nor was the shallot and preparing their meals is a lengthy process and often does not come out right. I'm cancelling my membrrship. I also have tried peach dish and I love them!

The only reason why I'm not giving it a one star is because I had fun making the meals with my wife, but really, you can have the same fun by buying ingredients and making it yourself. I am upset with blue apron because they make it difficult to cancel your subscription. If you aren't careful you will be charged 60 dollars without noticing. I believe the way the have their payment method set up is unfair and I'm disappointed that a large company like this would do that.

Wonderful!
April 15, 2016

I was given 2 weeks of Blue Apron as a Christmas Gift by my son and his wife. I really did like the meals and enjoyed cooking again so I signed up for the program. The choice of menus are great. You always find meals you will enjoy. For those who don't like spicy things, I say, "don't use it". The food will still be wonderful. I can skip weeks if I go out of town. I have always disliked grocery shopping and now all I have to shop for is milk and cereal. I also save money by not doing what I call "pick up shopping". I don't buy things I don't need and things that will go bad in the fridge because I don't use all of it. I recommend this program.

LOVE IT!
April 15, 2016

I have been loving Blue Apron! The meals are fresh and beautiful! Its so exciting when you get your Blue Apron box! Ha!
I love every single one so far! Love that you get everything you need to make your meal. No waisting anymore food! And its just enough. You wont over eat because its perfectly proportioned. Just enough and I am full. And nothing comes from a grocery store. All from organic farms and fisherman. Love supporting that!
I love to cook and I am making new thing that I would have never tried before Blue Apron.
I love it!

Ingredients and recipes were fine. I'm not a good cook so my meals didn't come out well. Not happy that they wouldn't let me quit before my next delivery with 5 days notice. Scam.

My wife and I have been using Blue Apron for a while. We love it because we cook dishes and use ingredients we never would think to otherwise. It has really broadened our tastes and our willingness to cook new and different things. My only complaint is that I wish there was more variety each week. We will skip a week if we don't love the menu options.

I am a very good cook, but I work 10-12 hours a day. And, I despise grocery shopping. My SO doesn't cook unless you count "stir fry" every night. BA has allowed me to have the freedom to cook like they do on TV. All meals are done in 30-45 minutes, and are restaurant quality. I worried the portion sizes seemed small, they aren't. Even for my SO who is a big eater. BA rocks in my book.

DO NOT USE BLUE APRON
December 18, 2015

I have used Blue Apron for a while now; not only do they constantly leave ingredients out, but this week they didn't send the entire box! I emailed them twice and left a voicemail - no surprise that nobody got back to me. Use them only if you want them to steal your money. Thieves.

Just wanted to give a quick shout out to BLUE APRON for its commitment to QUALITY and CUSTOMER SERVICE.

A friend of mine sent me a 'trial meal'... and to make a long story short... i wasn't able to receive it until just before thanksgiving... and didn't quite understand the logistics of 'canceling' or how to 'move forward' (or not) with a Blue Apron subscription.

That said... between already having too much food (single woman... kids dispersed...)... i had WAY TOO MUCH FOOD for the holiday AND to include a Blue Apron meal for 'two'.

I then was charged for a SECOND delivery... before i could actually 'prepare' my second meal... which became overwhelming and potential 'food and money' wasted... while i still hadn't determined whether i'll be a BLUE APRON customer in the future.

I contacted CUSTOMER SERVICE right away... and they RESPONDED TO ME RIGHT AWAY :). . And not ONLY did they 'refund' the charge for the second 'box'... but the delivery still arrived 'as scheduled'... and MOST IMPORTANTLY... their 'understanding', professionalism and overall great handling of the situation was FABULOUS and so positive... if/when i'm able to join 'Blue Apron'... i already anticipate it being a wonderful 'service'.

This is—sadly, 'rare' i'd say...(hahaha... cooking term!)... especially 'ONLINE' so THANK YOU, BLUE APRON. I hope when the dust settles and i have 'time' to put together the robust and imaginative menus your company puts together—i'll be joining BLUE APRON for the long haul!

All the best and thank you,

First Time Customer
December 4, 2015

Thought I would give this service a try since I love cooking and would like to change up my meals. Ordered my service and delivery was guaranteed for Delivery on the 3rd of December by 8PM. 8PM came and went and I guess my order ended up at someone house in a different city and was sent back to facility. Next day called customer service which took 10 minutes to talk to live person and cancelled my service. They didn't try to resolve problem just let me on my way. 1st impressions can kill a business and will talk of this for months with people who ask me what I think or if I have tried the service. They are growing to fast to control major problems. I have since found Hello Fresh which is a bit more expensive but better reviews and better meals.

Great concept. I only cook for 2 so the portion control is perfect. They overestimate on the calories usually. I initially freaked out on the 600-700 estimated calories they provide on the cards. I downloaded the ingredients and most of the time the estimated calories are way over. That's a good thing for my waistline. Service is consistent. Once I didn't receive an ingredient. I wrote an email and received a reply within an hour. On the weekend! If you don't like the selection you can skip the delivery that week. I've used Blue Apron for 4 months now and very happy with it.

My husband and I decided to try blue apron after adding up our weekly food bill that consisted mostly of eating out and a few hurried meals if I could make it to the grocery store after football, basketball, etc. We are both foodies and love to cook but the time to plan and shop was the problem. Blue apron delivers 3 meals a week that we choose. The portions are really made for 2 to 3 people, but we stretch it to feed 4 by adding another vegetable or grain, etc. The only thing you really need is eggs, salt, pepper and olive oil, everything else is provided. All the meals have been tasty and easy to make. The service is cheaper than Plated and they have just added a monthly wine pairing for an extra $65 a month. I think the service could be improved if they had portions to feed a family of 4 for 5 days I have yet to find any meal service that provides this. In addition, they limit your choices each week. For example, you can choose 3 meals out of about 7, but if you select certain meals it eliminates other selections automatically. I would also suggest a desert selection. Overall, my family is enjoying the service and the home cooked meals. I would recommend highly recommend it.

The food is not bad (not necessarily the healthiest), but the food took awhile to cook. They say 35 minutes, but it took about an hour. It would've been faster for me to cook myself.
