I've been getting monthly packages for a year now and I prefer them over battlebox any day. I recommend budk. Fast shipping great customer service.
I purchased a defective knife. The customer service telephone number was supposed to be on the invoice. It was not. I had to go on line to find the number. They sent me a UPS prepaid return sticker. I had to package it and take it to UPS. They did not reimburse for tax, shipping and handling, or package insurance. Bottom line the invoice was $44.36 and they reimbursed $32.30. The customer service ladies were pleasant but policy is policy. I recommend you take your business somewhere else.

I order at least once a year from their website for my husband. He loves all of their products! They're priced fairly for the quality as well. He still has everything I've ever ordered him, nothing has broken. The only thing you have to watch out for, is if you order their mystery boxes- make sure you get different priced ones because if you buy two of the same, you just get repeat products in them haha. I made that mistake one year, but it ended up being great for re-gifting! Also, their shipping is really fast, it always arrives early.
They charged me $76 for a product that I never received, then claimed they would refund me. Over a month later, still no refund. Complete scam, avoid if you don't want to literally throw your money away.
The steel buckle works fine. However the canvas belt made in China is garbage as it only lasted me about 3 weeks. It has frayed and unraveled. The end of the canvas belt needs metal instead of a leather end
Due to an error on budk part I suffered financially, placing hardship on myself and family. They refused to make it rite! Shop somewhere else to keep from financial hardships.
This company has lost me as a customer now, and of many years! They won't respond to calls or emails, and have sent the last order recently that was wrong, switched out, and very expensive to boot! I can only warn everyone that I have referred to them in the past 9 years to BE AWARE!
I'm very amazed by the specific detailing of the blades you guys sell like the worrior pocket knife for example the Damascus blade was very unique and the back with the samurai in full detail was wicked.
I made an order which they amended without telling me. When questioned they said it would be shipped when in stock. I recieved a different product that arrived missing a vital piece. They took over 2 weeks to send the return lable, after multiple requests. I have sent dozens of emails getting the run around. First they denied seing the item on my original order, then after i showed proof another dozen emails back and forth they said their shipping was shut down due to the virus. I had to tell them that the item was back in stock. They told me to check their site for updates. I did and it said they are shipping and processing daily.
I have asked for a superviser multiple times, but am ignored. Their phone number never rings through, just voicemail to customer service that they never respond to!
I bought dozens of items from Budk over the years but hadn't really checked the site in a few years. I have some nephews that have taken a liking to my collection so I decided to look up and see what kind of deals they might have. I am shocked by their prices now because they just didn't go up a little ---they went up a ton to the point I felt compelled to leave a review. Even items that were BOGO are no longer BOGO and have tripled in price. Their "daily steals" are flea market items at ridiculous prices. For the price of most of their swords and knives you can buy legit hand-forged items from smiths in the United States. It was always fun to find a great deal but the pricing has increased so much that I won't be back anytime soon.
I placed an order with BUDK received it, item ordered was missing a part so I called customer service took the time and purchased a box to send it back, after a few days got the replacement item back same problem. Contacted customer service via phone and chat for a week and I get the feeling they just giving this lost customer the run arounds. They never sent an email with return label or given me a refund neither after I told them I would return it again. Just a very unpleasant experience I have never experienced with any other place and I order a lot of items on line.
My beautiful Honshu sword came with one of the 2 screws on the handle missing. The sword has 2 screws, and 1 is missing, duh!
I liked the sword, didn't want to make big stink about it, just asked them to send me the missing screw.
That's when BudK started acting like zombie co. They kept insisting that I had to send the sword back for an exchange. A few e-mails and phone calls later I gave up, they'd rather waste everyone's time and their resources on irrational activities, instead of choosing the easiest, cheapest and fastest solution.
Customer disservice, that's what their customer service really is.
Between all of my family we've probably ordered from budk's site 30 times and have had no issue whatsoever. That was until my boyfriend wanted to buy my little brother a blowgun for his birthday. It was a little bit last minute so he paid for express shipping and the order came to a total of about 23 dollars. When the box arrived the night before the gift was supposed to be given my boyfriend opened it up to find a 210 dollar hobbit replica sword. My brother loves the hobbit so it worked out well but it was far too late to return the item. My boyfriend decided to be ethical and let them know that they sent him the wrong item so they could correct it for the poor guy that got a 16.99 blowgun when he paid for the sword. When he did this budk demanded that they would charge his card the difference if he didn't return the sword. Which according to this article by the FTC is highly illegal. Https :// www.consumer. Ftc. The representative said that the supervisor was away and that she would have them give him a call when she got back. Just to be safe my boyfriend explicitly stated that they did not have permission to charge his card the difference and the representative said "we don't need permission." When the supervisor finally called back she went through the same cycle until my boyfriend threatened to go through the FTC and they finally stopped saying they would charge his card. I'm very disspointed with this behavior because for those that do not know the law they would have been easily taken advantage of. This isn't just bad customer service it's illegal customer service.
I received a catalog in the mail yesterday, tried to order today and prices are increased by 50%. She said it was an old catalog! Then why did you send it to me? I will shop somewhere else
I made a mistake with my order and customer service was super awesome. They answer the phone right away and you get to talk to a HUMAN BEING! They also have a live text chat available. Super nice people and very reliable and caring. I will be shopping more with them from now on.
Be careful when you order from here, they take your order an then only send one item when you order more so you get stuck with higher shipping. They do not have the decency to let you know that something you have ordered is out of stock so you can postpone ordering. The Don't care as long as they make a sale!
While some of their items are cheap, some of them are really good. The Shinwa swords are pretty good. They are cheap and pretty solid. I have cut through lots of cans of diet coke. The M48 stuff is good quality and also nice to the feel. Recently, I got a Shinwa sword which had a few small cracks in the blade. When I asked to return it, they sent me a return label (prepaid) within a few days. We had to call them, no hold or BS like that. The phone was picked up almost immediately. When I had questions, my E-mails where replied to within 10-20 minutes. Also, every few days, you can get free shipping too. I have saved HUNDREDS thanks to Budk. While I can mostly only stand up for their swords, the knife i got and the gas masks and sword carriers were also great. For all of them, they came in great working order and were $5-10 cheaper then they were on amazon. Shipping was FedEx which was OK. For the free shipping question, yes, assuming you make your purchase on the days where there is a free shipping code (every few days)
Bought a product priced at $9.98, but when they were done ripping me off for an item weighing 2 ounces, my cost was $20.22. Later found the same item on E-bay for 8 bucks and free shipping. Never again...
I have bought a lot of various knives/daggers from BUDK. I call them letter openers because I would never trust my life with a five dollar blade. However the blades I have received have all been as advertised and make me wonder how they would perform under stress.
But for five bucks, they work fine for opening letters and packages - cutting string and such. Filled several drawers with 30 or so blades, so I am ready for the zombies.
I don't see how they make a profit selling at such low prices.

Answer: Depends on how much you're willing to spend. The ones on BudK are all junk with the, out of place, exception of their Benchmade line-up which are some of the best OTF's and range from $250-$450(add, at the bare minimum, another $50+ for taxes and shipping). Personally, I think, with all the mechanics involved in an OTF, it's not worth the price tag because the more "mechanisms" you put in a knife, the less reliable it becomes, which is why a fixed blade will always be more reliable than a folder or an automatic of equal quality. Especially since I'm not a mercenary or an assassin. OTF's are definitely cool tho. So, as with any knife, if it's for show, buy cheap. If it's for survival, dip into your savingsFrom top down, these knives are in order of reliability.
Answer: Depends on how much you're willing to spend! Standard is like $15-$20, expedited is like $25-$35, then you also have the option to have your package moved to somewhere closer to the front of the line for $3-$5. Kinda feels like a racket to me. My advice when thinking about using budk is to see if amazon has what you want first, as many of the items on budk can be found on amazon for cheaper and with free, well tracked, shipping.
