I went online and ask for quote on extended warranty. They called quickly the first price was about $4800 and you seem to always get transferred to a manager. This manager was extremely pushy so basically I hung up. They kept calling. After about the fifth call I told them what I would pay period, again put me to a manager, remember this is fifth call from them. He says he will take my offer to the CEO, comes back three minutes later and said he got it for me@ $3000. Just to note this vehicle has a branded title. Bottom line they wasted lots of my time, I got the price I wanted, to much effort expended. On all five calls told them the same thing. Bottom line get ready for high pressure sales, but remember you can always get a lower price if you are willing to waste some time.
I purchased extended warranty through Carchex. Come to find out they are crooks. My trucks check engine light came on and I took it to the dealer. The dealer said turbo was bad and need a new one. I called my warranty company Carchex and what an experience. The truck sat in the shop for three weeks waiting on an adjuster to come out to verify the turbo was bad. 3 different adjustes came to look and all said different things. Long story short Carchex did not pay or fix anything. I lost so much money and time. If I just paid out of pocket I could have been back on the road the next day. Now 3 weeks has gone and missed several days of work. Had to pay for rental car. I am so pissed off and frustrated with Carchex. Please be careful with this company. They will Robb you. Shame on Carchex. Taking hard working individuals money. May GOD have mercy on you people.
DISAPPOINTED! SHAM POLICY!
I have purchased the Titanium extended warranty for my wife's 2011 BMW and had the warranty for a year. About 3 weeks ago my wife's car would not start when it is parked directly in the sun and took to certified BMW mechanics who diagnose the problem and my claim was denied. They told the mechanic to reset the and clear the censors and that will fix the problem. Well the car has been back in the shop for more than a week after my daughter and wife got stranded and we are still waiting on CarCHEX to get back with us since now the car is not starting at all. Why do we have this extended warranty that we are paying for every month? In the process of looking for new coverage since this coverage is a SHAM!
Sharon and Carchex were able to understand my concerns and were able rectify and help me with my issues
Fake Warranty. Does NOT pay for any repair. I totally waste 3 months of payment for the PREMIUM PLAN.
First of all, congrats to all the tellers because they are very well trained to tell you everything you want to hear when you are about to buy the plan.
After they promised me all the good things included on the most expensive plan available for my car, I purchase it.
After few days I've got the book by mail with all the info I would need to make a claim if I ever need to make one. Everything was going well as the teller told me and I had the FAKE piece of mind of driving a car with full warranty coverage by one of the "best" options available in the market.
Three and half months later I heard a noise on my steering wheel and I took to my Acura dealer. They checked the car and found a "little leak" on my steering wheel pump and that would cost around $600. I told them about my coverage and they said they could handle everything and I didn't have to worry about anything. For my surprise, they called and CARCHEX told the dealer they would have to send an inspector to make sure the dealer was right about the diagnostic. What? Also I had to leave the car at the dealer because the inspector had a window of 24-48 hours to go check the car. Really? Ok, and the "rental car" that I had on my plan did not applied on that case because the inspector did not approve the procedure yet. I had to call my wife to pick me up at the dealer and wait 2 days without my car so they could come with the approval. PS: The Dealer told me they never had to deal with a such a bureaucratic company specially because the cost to fix the problem was under $1000 and would take only 3 hours to correct the problem and I could go back home at the same day but anyways...
After two days of waiting, the inspector told the dealer that the problem would be a defective gasket and it was quite possibly an old problem. That's why they could not afford it. The dealer said that this was extremely atypical and because I am not a mechanic or a car specialist it would be impossible for me to identify this defect in the acquisition of the plan. They also told me that never had a claim denied for similar reasons.
I still tried to talk to CARCHEX to identify the error in view that it made no sense to me and to the dealer the excuse they gave to not repair the defect.
The result was that they refused to examine my case more thoroughly and would not pay. After paying almost $900 for a premium plan I had to cancel my policy and still pay the $600 to repair my car.
I would NEVER RECOMMEND CARCHEX.
WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.
So Far so good!
I just purchased a car yesterday and I was referred to them by my mother.
I did purchase the warranty from the Certified Dodge dealer yesterday as I did 10 years ago.
The price is the about the same.
I was told $2500 if I was to have it withdrawn from my account bumper to bumper, excluding basic matinance. The dealer was $2400 same coverage and I financed it. I asked what if I payed cash and he said he would talk to his manager and he could lower it two $2300, not even talking to his manager.
Be carefulfully on the way they word it. I have $******* on my 2013 and he said my vehicle would be cover for 60k miles. I corrected him and said you mean including the milage on it already and your covering the difference.
Then he started badgering the dealer. I informed him I had it 10years ago and it's apples to apples. Going on and on what he thought they didn't cover but did and they give me a rental for up to 10days, roadside, ect.
After I thanked him kindly to end the call he then proceeded to sell me Auto insurance. I told him I am very happy with my providor (not listening to me) he started naming names like Progressive, The general, ect. I mean geese... I just wanted off the phone and almost hung up on him. Then finally rudely interrupted him to get a word in and said I have Nationwide. He then shut up and I told him I was at work and had to go.
Excellant coverage expalined all details and choices available to me
The agent I spoke to was Philo Gentles, hope I spelled his name right. He answered all questions in regards to giving me the best price on an extended warranty that I could easily afford. Still waiting on my packet, tho it should be here soon. Thanks again!

Answer: Not hard to reach the company. But hard to get them to honour the contract...
