The account manager made the process seamless for me. This was a move for work and the crew that did the move was awesome. On time and went above and beyond even when the move out was in the rain. Would totally use them again

Colonial was great to work with. They were quick and professional and have our stuff loaded and unloaded into storage within two days. Great work!

The Team from Colonial was hands on from start to finish. I never had to call them to follow up; they kept me in the loop at all times. Responsive, reliable, right price, clean equipment and the movers were so pleasant and mindful of my furniture. I highly recommend them.

Moving cross country is never easy and I'm glad to say that we are all settled in and Colonial was a big help in our transition.

Overall, I am pretty satified with my experience this time even though there was some frustration. Armonie called me to make sure I was in the loop with pickup and delivery. JR moving corp was my agent and they are great!

Our entire cross-country move has been an absolute nightmare. They should be ashamed of the horrendous job they did for my 87 year old parents. When our goods finally arrived(late) we found many, many missing items: extension ladder, multiple dollies and hand carts, leather ottoman, power tools, hand tools, a crate full of batteries, the list goes on and on.
Their packers were horrible; only used Home Depot boxes and single ply paper-no bubble wrap or padded paper. By the time our load was delivered most of the boxes were crushed, torn, shredded or open. Needless to say this resulted in things like a shattered printer, broken grandfather and grandmother clocks, and boxes full of shattered ceramics and lamps and home goods. Mattresses were only shrink wrapped so arrived torn and dirty.
We have moved great distances multiple times and Colonial Van Lines has been the worst moving experience ever.

We had our goods picked up in CA, the total was about 1/2 a truckload. The team packed all our dishes, and did a great job, all arrived unbroken. The packing team spent the first-day packing, and the second 1/2 day loading the truck. The unloading team in FL unloaded and assembled our furniture in less than a day. Overall, the experience was terrific. The only complaint was the lack of visibility of the delivery timing until 24 hours before delivery. We had a window of arrival, but it was 2 weeks long which made planning a little challenging. The pricing was very competitive (better than) the other two moving companies we engaged.

In short:
We didn't think we were ever going to see our car again. Don't trust this company!
They forgot about the job, we had to call them multiple times daily for a week to get traction, they never followed up when they said they would, they didn't reply to any emails, were over a week late on the pickup/delivery, and conveniently forgot about reimbursing us.

In full:
We used Colonial Vans to transport our car and move our stuff and booked them more than a month in advance. The day before the first day of the 3-day window when they were supposed to pick up the car, they called about the move of our house stuff. We asked about the status of the car which was the first time our account manager had heard of it. The account manager promised to follow up by the morning of the following day. The afternoon of the following day rolls around and no call. We call them. They don't have an update, say they're going to call dispatch and follow up that day. They didn't follow up. The next day, which is the last day of the 3-day window, we call and demand answers. They once again say they're going to call dispatch but we know by then that they're blowing smoke so assume that our car will not be picked up. We were moving out of state but somehow were able to arrange the car to be stored somewhere where it would be safe for a month. We finally get in touch with management and they were at least able to tell us they've been having issues with car transports and it might take up to a month. The manager tried to get us to cancel the contract so they wouldn't have to deal with us anymore but we declined as prices had gone up elsewhere. At this point our move date has arrived and we don't have time to call them everyday to ask for updates. Over a week goes by and we finally get a call that they have found someone. The price for the transporter was more than our contract price but Colonial Vans promised to reimburse the difference. At this point I knew not to trust them so I started to record our conversations in case we needed to take legal action. Our car gets dropped off almost 2 weeks late and we pay the transporter their price. A few days go by and while we received the customer satisfaction email, we hear nothing about the reimbursement. We call them again and they promise to have a manager follow up about the reimbursement. We are still waiting to hear back on the reimbursement and are considering reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau.

Outstanding from start to finish. Communication was superb, clear and professional at each step, including the movers. Estimated pick-up and drop-off times were accurate. The movers were fast, highly professional and thorough. They wrapped and loaded everything very quickly and drop-off was even more efficient. They even took the time to repair a leg on a desk that had come loose in transit (not their fault). I would trust Colonial to move me anywhere and the next time I have to move, they will be my first and only call. Thanks for a painless move that exceeded our expectations!
