This service will be very helpful if all you want to do is sign up and submit your documents. Fortunately, they were considerate enough to provide assistance with queries and worries. Generally, the procedure ought to be simple. I would like to see 'all' of my return before filing the return. Not quite as easy as in previous years, but will continue to use for filing taxes.

Etax carries over some information from the previous year's returns. My only complaint is that it does NOT alphabetize the names of charities I donated to last year. That forces me to search my spreadsheet to find the amount corresponding to the listed charity.

E-tax led me to believe i would only be charged 30 and 55 of my fed tax return would go to what i owed state my fed tax return was 147 i got 20 none was used to pay off my state tax owed so e-tax kept 127...i did not get any documents or bill,email. That showed why they took 127...

I've been using ETax for a while, and I really like it. I messed up, etax fixed it anyway. It might have been because I filed jointly (via marriage) this year instead of individually. In other words, it just asked for my husband's AGI for 2021 and never inquired about mine. So, when I tried to e-file, it asked about my 2021 AGI.

I gave it a four-star rating because I like how it helped you along the way and explained the information you needed to enter, which was really helpful. I was also able to get a refund, and they also sent me an email when the IRS approved everything, etax.com is a great website to use if you need help filing your taxes. But, the government should make it free!

I had a great experience working with Jen, one of the representatives at etax. She supported me and helped me overcome a couple of obstacles last night. She was really understanding of my situation and did a great job of explaining to me how to fix my mistakes. She was courteous and made filing my taxes simple. I think Jen is fantastic!

Being accused of putting in wrong direct deposit numbers, when you go to check the file to be sure, I'm blocked from entering but can see the 1040 and it E Tax route and account numbers. E tax made the mistake and my daughter has to suffer for it! Waiting longer and being charged extra to send a check and that will cost more money to cash it. We will not use this site ever again! Ruled and Unprofessional aggressive conduct & when I called back to try to get another customer representative to help me understand the same lady answered and she will keep calling you sir even though you're not and don't sound like one. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!

I have used these guys for many years now. Never had a problem. One of the best sites to do your taxes. I highly recommend them. Price isn't too steep for what you get, no hassle, accurate taxes. I looked at other sites and this is the best one I have found.

Stay away from these people! In 2022 tax refund Year i received $48.00 out of federal refund of $375.00! They're crooks!

On the IRS.com one of the income tax services is eTax. It is under free service. After giving all the information for my wife and I, eTax said I would receive a refund fro IRS if a agreed to a $25 fee to eTax.com. We agreed.
Today I received a direct deposit from IRS. The deposit was $94.85 less then the amount on my tax form. When I called eTax to ask why, I was told I had agreed to direct deposit fees. I had only told of the $25 fee at the time of filing. They accused me of agreeing these additional fees. Not happy.

I just want to say a big "thank you" for the customer support provided by Michael at etax.com! Their customer support is truly a blessing. Michael was so kind and patient with me as I navigated through filing my taxes. He made the process so much less stressful and I truly appreciate his help. I will be sure to spread the word about this wonderful service!

I honestly just wanted to say thank you. Tax season has been stressful for me. I have tried many other tax preparation software applications, and I must say I found yours most enjoyable, focused, and absolutely helpful. You will hear from me again next year. Once more, great job!

I was very pleased with the ease of your system and reasonable cost. I hate to do our taxes every year, but you help make it as easy as it can be. How wonderful to be able to populate with data from the previous year.

Their website says 5 stars but you can't review on their website. 3 months after trying to submit my tax return through them I had to cancel it, basically it's the same as doing it yourself but they give added stress, answered the same question 5 times then had to do submit it myself anyway or find another accountant. Minus 15 stars because that's how many times they made me cry before cancelling.

I filed my federal taxes with eTax and didn't realize that my return would be considered Premium and cost $49.95 to file. As the site walked me through the process, it never indicated at any point that there was going to be a filing fee. So much so that at the end of submitting my tax info, the site asked for credit card info and I was confused about why. So I read the only text on the the page carefully--it mentioned FREE filing, FREE data storage, etc. There was no mention on the page of any kind of charge so I thought perhaps the company just wanted to store my card info in case I used the site in the future and so I hit File. A few hours later I received an email saying the IRS had accepted my return. There was no mention of any charge, no receipt, nothing like that. So you can imagine my surprise when I found a $49.95 charge on my credit card from eTax.
I called customer service and the rep said that when you enter credit card info, a "voucher" pops up on the right side of the screen that says how much you're being charged. That may happen sometimes, but it didn't happen in my case. There was no pop-up, no voucher, no charge listed and the fact that the company was so reticent about informing me that I had been charged makes me skeptical about their practices. She also said that filing a federal return is only free IF you file a state return at the same time--but the site failed to mention that during the process too.
I called my credit card issuer and they have been wonderful. They are working with me to try to dispute the charge and we'll see what happens.

I used Etax to file my federal and state income tax return using the free service. I then saw a charge of $59.90 on my credit card. Perhaps they use some hocus pocus to look like I authorized it, but I did not as the only reason I used them was because it was free. I actually meant to use E-file but got redirected to E-tax and didn't notice. When I called E-tax customer service to dispute the charge they hung up on me. DO NOT USE ETAX.com

I've been a customer of Etax for 9 years. In that 9 years I have never had to use their customer service. However the moment that I did it was a horrible experience. I reached out to them because their system did not capture my bank account number correctly. Instead of them provide me with solution they blamed everything on me. I was told that they don't have glitches or have errors. Which we all know is untrue. Their service is pretty much a self-service service which mean that you have no contact with a live person. Also you must enter your account number twice before entering it so I know that I verified at least three times before submitting it. Hi room system cut off the last four of my account number and my deposit was misplaced. No one offered me any helper our solution they were just pretty rude..

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! They took over $85 out of my $500 return, I read one review (after I used the service) that said they said the return was only free for people doing federal tax returns and when I did mine it said it was only free for state tax returns. They are thieves. The IRS should ban this company from doing business.
