Initially when the lodgement looked easy and straightforward, the service was good. The accountant I spoke to on the phone was very sweet.
The moment things got out of normal, any accountant that saw my message (assuming it wasn't the same accountant everytime) just kept dragging their feet and asking me to wait. If one of you had just checked with ATO whether everything was on track when I requested, we would have known about the issue then and I could have sorted it out and gotten my refund 3-4 weeks ago. I know this for a fact because I have confirmed this myself with ATO multiple times. Instead I had to do everything myself. I should have just stuck to my usual accountant, just gone face to face like I do every year, instead of feeling like it will be a hard task with my little baby while on maternity leave. He would have been amazing like he is every year and the cost in the same. Plus I would have saved all the 50 odd dollars that I had to pay as overdue fees for everything waiting for my tax return.
I will definitely not be recommending etax to anyone, not that it is going to affect you guys much.
Terrible terrible service when things get out of typical. Let's see if they leave this review up or just have it deleted saying it's not "objective".

I have a new email address so changed it to my current one using the edit feature. Then updated the password as well. All was well until payment time. Then it kicked me out at the payment page and said I had to verify my identity for the same credit card Id used last year. I understand the need for verification in today's ID theft world but the edit apparently didn't take; it reverted to my previous email address and would not accept either password. After several attempts I contacted the support line and after speaking with several lower level employees without an apparent clue between them, a "manager' came to n and told me if I could not get it to process they couldn't help me; then hung up on me. Ultimately I called back and was fortunately this time got a young man who knew just what to do to get my new password to take. But in spite of that, the experience with the rude manager put me off EVER using etax.com again.

I have been using the software for over 10 years without an incident. Software is easy to use and has all the latest updates. It also asks some questions that you might have thought about.

I enjoy using them to file my taxes. It's easy and convenient. However, I do not like having to pay all various fees to efile my tax forms when I barely get any money back as it is.

Have used this product for many years without any problems. Very easily understood and simple to do.

I had a few queries during the process, and the customer support team was responsive. They provided helpful assistance promptly. However, improvements in providing guidance for complex situations would enhance the overall user experience.

Sometimes the same number, sometimes a different one. Usually a US area code, sometimes not. This is a scam company. No matter how many times I screamed at them LEAVE ME ALONE and hung up, they called right back. FIFTEEN FREAKING CALLS IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS. Always an Indian-accented male who gives a western name (John, etc.). Even if this company was legit, which clearly it is not, why pay someone to do your taxes when you can get the IRS to do it for you for free?

My first year filing taxes. My cousin said she got some good refunds with this site. Was easy to use, got credit for school tuition.

Overall, etax is a decent online tax site, but there is room for improvement in terms of user interface. With some enhancements, it has the potential to become a more user-friendly and reliable option for tax filers.

Filed a simple tax return for $16. My second year using e-tax. Very simple proses, took me like 15 min.

Since it's so user-friendly and unlike other tax preparation programs, I don't have to pay extra for features that I and most other users won't use, I've been using the ETAX tax deluxe software for the last ten years. It is easy to use and comprehend, and so far, it has been my preferred method of filing taxes because it relieves me of the pressure of having to understand all the necessary papers and regulations each filing year. If it were offered for discounted costs as those offered through Amazon and other sellers, I would give it a five-star review. Strongly suggested.

Since 2014, I have been using the etax.com program. The federal tax questionnaire is efficiently laid out, and largely understandable. It keeps track of your entries from the previous year and serves as a reminder of your past income sources incase you forget one. You don't have to put in much extra work afterwards because the data you provide is carried over to the state return. You must have your income and deduction documentation available before you begin using any tax preparation software, and you must be familiar enough with the laws to be able to grasp some of the questions. But the program makes every effort to assist. E-filing is simple, and you receive frequent status updates.

Visually simple, easy to navigate, more info supplied as needed for comprehension on a point. I love that you can come and go as you have time and it saves your spot.
I like the option to review each section of the return as I work on it rather than having to complete the entire process before having the option to print the return and worksheets.
