Got a role in a full length feature film! Just wanted to give a big "Thank You" to Explore Talent. I auditioned for a role in a full length feature film called Second Wind and got a co-supporting role in the film! The experience has been amazing and so rewarding. Working with director, Daryl C. Sylva is awesome. If it weren't for Explore Talent, I wouldn't be here in such a good place in my career. We're very grateful for your service. Julia Hodgkins
A woman from Explore Talent called and told me that my daughter was pre-selected by a casting director of a specific movie to have an audition, and that he would be calling her within a month to give her a skype audition and sides would be provided, yada yada. But wait, first you have to renew your daughter's account, which I did because I did not realize it had lapsed. This was about 3 weeks ago, and I was told that particular movie had not even started filming, and today I find out that they have wrapped up filming this week. Not only this but my friend, who is an actress, was contacted by them stating that she was the perfect fit for a different big name movie. Guess what... renewal time! Do not give them a dime. I haven't even stated all of the things the told me to do that made it seem like it was for real. There are many legitimate casting websites that my daughter and I both work through. This is not one of them!
Found them to be extremely helpful getting me get started. I am disabled but you can't tell it on the outside. I am looking forward to a new a and fun adventure!
It's quite sad to read several of these reviews. I'm not sure if they're paid to write poor ratings from other sites? Did they follow direction? Return calls? Show up on time? Make an effort? I may not be the next Hollywood mega star, but I did put in some effort and was at least able to be seen and attained several leads. Satisfied customer.
I made an account and I got an email saying that they need a photo of me because a cast director wants me. Should I do it?
So the Reviews that list Explore Talent with 4 stars all have profiles that have given reviews four different companies on the SAME DAY. They are trying to appear like they are getting REAL positive reviews but this TO appears to be fabricated. SiteJabber should investigate these "positive" reviews and shine a light on this company. I too paid 189 for there 6 month service. I'm not mad. Just laughing at myself for getting taken.
I paid money to be fed b. S about how I could land auditions soon and how it usually happens. I could get paid $800 per gig. And not to be worried about not landing a role or a gig.
Lakeisha was my representative who signed me got her commission. She pitched me on the dream.
I signed febuary of this year and its august now still havent landed anything. I basicially found this was a "self service" type of pro gt am where you pay to book your own auditions.
You are Endlessly clicking away at openings in your area. Alot of them you would have to pay to fly to if you are willing to.
You arent working with any of the cast directors directly or have close consistant connections to where you could land a gig.
I couldve googled auditions in my area or other states for free than to pay for some wack self service. Program.
They hype you up in beginning even offer discounts so they can get the commission and customers. You arent guaranteed help. You have to book auditions on the website every day when t he y have openings. The most the rest can do is book some for you ifbyou having difficulties signing up. They are just "customer reps." Simple no connections
Even to try to reach out someone is always busy and a hassle.
The reps can be rude and hang up on you. Its ghetto. And unprofessional. They are about getting their bonuses thats it.
That was my bad experience with this company. I was hoping for a break through for acting and singing career but I hve a better chance going to american idol than these money suckers.
So far I've been impressed with their service, I used to think that only the rich can be models. I'll never make it in the industry. When I first started to get text messages I was like hmm... Then I got a call from an agent who said he'd like me to put some pictures on my profile. So I said I guess that would make since. So I put some pics I had taken a wile back and a couple of new pictures I had just taken. Then I got another call from a different agent offering to lower the price of my service if I upgraded my profile. I don't have $100 to throw around. This guy offered to drop it to $60 to join. We will see, if they need talent they should be out looking for it for free.
Im trying to understand where they got my profile in the first place. The only thing i remember even remotely putting up a profile is match. Com Every thing else i only have job inquiries. Ive been reading some of the reviews, and can relate to most of them. I was told that they have an A rating with the BBB. I more i read the more i believe that they have scammed people. Youve heard the old saying if its too good to be true it probably is. Most talent agents that are legit dont male money until you do. So the moral to this story is dont belive everything you hear.
When I first heard of explore talent I thought yes right?! Who pays to find their own work as a actor so I ignored them for about 3 years THENNNN I GAVE IN. I joined for 6 months was told a bunch of BS. I had to search for all my own jobs. So pretty much I paid Explire Takent for giving me a listing to look for my own work with no help from Explore Talent at all. THIS IS A JOKE. I KNOW A WHOLE LOT OF ENTERTAINERS..., MY HUSBAND IS A VERY FAMOUS SINGER AND TOLD ME TO BE CAREFUL JOINING. My bad... I didn't listen to him. They send you all these Text saying you can make 800 plus dollars on this famous actors movie and that famous actors movie and nothing never happened for me except pretty much me having to search for my own work and the one or maybe even two times something was sent to me were what's known in the industry as CATTLE CALLS! You can go to those from just looking on Craig's list. Lol. Explore stop it. ITS JUST NOT RIGHT TO FOOL PEOPLE. DONT YOU KNOW GODS WATCHING YOU?!
I joined them back in 2010. Had my mom pay for it because i did not have money and i told her that i trusted them. Boy was i wrong. I paid and they gave me paper work and he said just wait for my phone call. Its been 5 years. They email me again last week and they wanted me to come in for an audition. I accepted forgetting about them. I checked them out again and i remembered that they took my money and never called me. So i did not go then someone calls me from their and tell me that i missed the appointment and if i wanted to set another. I told her i joined in 2010 and paid money and never got a job. You really think i am going to do that again. So i told her to lose my number and i don't want that company to call me again or i will report them for harassment. Hopefully they don't call me again.
I like to be open minded, so I tend to read the good AND the bad and make an informed decision from there. The bad all seem to say the same, unsure of where their money is going. The good all seem to say the same, got multiple gigs right off the bat. My only issue with the good reviews is they've all been written by sketchy profiles. Sure, the profiles have multiple reviews, but if you click on them, it's of things like "Google.com: Wow! What a neat site!" written on the same day as all their other reviews. Company trying to boost it's own ratings?
Received a call today from Angela, spoke briefly about available roles I'd fit, and then was hit with the sales pitch. I said the price was a bit steep (for a non-agent) and was immediately hit with a "promotional offer" about 40% less. Said I'd consider, doubt I will.
I can put this very simple, compare this site to a legit site like backstage.com. Backstage advertises just like explore talent with using phrases like "get your career in acting started today!" but the one VERY BIG DIFFERENCE is explore talent will say free sign up! That is how they get your phone number, after they get that they give you calls and emails. Then they will text you a bull$#*! made up role throwing one or two known actors names at you to get you excited, this is when they come in for the attack and give you the "All you gotta do is sign up" bull$#*!. Now lets just think, this company has hundreds of "clients." so if they were a real company THEY WOULD BE TO BUSY TO CALL/ANNOY YOU ABOUT SIGNING Up. Now look at backstage, right from the start they tell you make an account get audition info. So they let the service sell itself. Once you pay backstage you can instantly find auditions near you and contact the director/casting director with pictures and a message and if they are interested they will contact you and you set an appointment up from there. I just wanna say for all of those who have read this thank you for taking your time. I believe its sad that companies are made like this, I have a deep passion for this craft and i hope to be a successful actor one day and sites like these can take a lot away from you mentally as a actor. I was tough one thing ill always remember in this business, signing up for a site like this or any site wont get you anywhere as a actor, but dedication and persistent approach to learning the craft will get you somewhere.
I signed up and received a text from a completely different number stating "You matched the new HBO Series, "Billions" starring Paul Giamatti. Looking for Extras and Supporting roles age 20-30 Call now *******786" when I called the number the person the first time hung up on me. Then the second time couldn't answer any legitimate wuestuins. By the third conversation I realized this person did not speak English nor did they have any knowledge about what they are claiming to be a part of. They then hung up on me a third time. Outsourced scam agency. Don't waste your time. They originally txt from *******149
I am a casting director - do NOT use ExploreTalent.com!
Do NOT join exploretalent.com -- you are wasting your money
I have been a casting director with them for over 2 years
I have posted many castings
Many people have replied
PROBLEM? Their damn communication system DOES NOT WORK
Between the casting director and the talent...
For over a year, the 'supervisor' (she's nice but she's being manipulated or is complicit on the scam, i don't know which) --
Keeps telling they are "fixing the problems with the website"
I've given up on this website
Now i cast with backstage.com
WHAT A SCAMMMMM!
They never call you back when they say they will. They take auditions that are national open calls so anyone can get the same ones (usually off Craigslist or model mayhem) so there's thousands of other people including amateurs trying to get the same part, and charge you the discounted price of $190 a year to send you emails instead of googling them yourself.
They take your pictures and watermark their logo over it without asking to use for their promotions. Yes, they make money off your image to run and promote a scam.
If you call and ask why you have to pay them to audition for an open call they say, "Well we have an A+ rating with the BBB."
The only reason that is the case is because unless they did something to discriminate you or there is litigation, they don't accept complaints.
STAY AWAY!
I got 2 jobs within 10 day after I signed-up! YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING! The very next day after I signed up I was offered a job with the ISO/JOICO hair show. Since then I've already been matched with another job (this one for several weekends), and have made it to the final selection for two Advertising spots in the San Antonio area. The service provided by the individuals I've dealt with at Explore Talent has been top-notch. David & Dustin in the Booking Dept. and Brittain in Cust. Service have gone above and beyond in answering my questions and providing information. In fact, it feels as though I am talking with people that personally know us, rather than being treateded like "a number". THANKS - YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!
I got major roles in TWO movies since July 7,2006 at Explore Talent. I came back from screentest in Washington, D. C. and was offered major roles in not one, but TWO movies and I am being considered for the LEAD in a third.
I had been booked for a film within one week after the audition. It is so exciting to check onto your site and find out that nearly every day I have been either given gigs for which I can submit myself or better yet, by the time I get the information, you have already submitted me. The best thing about it is that these are not just castings where you are just a barely visible extra if you are lucky. They are quality castings with real credits. Even with an agent, you often times are not going to get this level of activity right from the start.
You are great, how do you do it?! Thank you and Best Regards!
I just wanted to let you know that I signed up with Explore Talent less than a week and I already have a audition scheduled on the following week. I am so excited and thrilled! I also wanted to comment on the customer service department, especially Carrisa. Carissa has been nothing but helpful, encouraging, and truthful with me... and the one thing I love she always returns your calls! I could not have been in this specific spot I believe without her guidance. So a big thank you goes out to Explore Talent and Carrisa...
After 4 days of signing up through Explore Talent, I got my first job in the Pureology Hair Show in Providence. I was paid $250. Apart from that, I was given $40 worth of hair care products for the day's work. Thanks a lot for your assistance. Now, I'm looking forward to finding more modeling jobs from the site.
