Don't ever rent here. Rented a space 2 months ago at a reasonable price I found online that was consistent with other prices in the area. I got a letter in the mail the other day that they're DOUBLING my monthly rate. I reached out to the company for an explanation and no one would return an email or a phone call. The local store manager is completely useless and will not respond to me at all now that they know everyone is furious about the rate hikes. The only thing their useless online chat person could tell me was "uhhh it's not a 100% increase. It's only 89%."

They're sociopaths. It's just another scam.

DO NOT GET IN BED WITH THESE SNAKES! I rented a storage unit from these shysters two or three months ago and now that I finally have all of my stuff moved in they have raised my rate from $72 to $151 per month! Said that it was based on "demand" and no it was not a teaser rate. TREAT THESE CROOKS LIKE A RATTLESNAKE!

I would not recommend this joke company to anyone. They lure you in with $110-125 a month internet specials on a 10x15 outside unit. After 2-3 months they jack up the rent by $100 so that $124 dollar internet unit is now $209 with no warning. This is Ridiculous when Uhaul charges $174 for the same unit with climate control. The manager at Eastern Ave in Baltimore constantly talks over you on the phone and can be rude. I'm getting my stuff out of there in July and will never rent there again.

You will sign a contract stating the price you will pay for the unit and then they will jack up the price by 100% while your stuff are locked there and there is nothing you can do about it.

They won't even send you an email or call you to notify you. They will send you a letter in the mail ("company policy"). I found out about the huge increase from my bank statement.

They just take advantage of people that storage their belongings with them because it takes money, time and resources to move to another storage unit.

Units off of Hoadly Road in Woodbridge, VA. Not climate controlled. Keypad to get out of gate always blocked. Company customer service is awful. They run a nice scam in forcing you into purchasing a lock (not allowed to use your own) that is completely useless anywhere else. Got texts and emails saying to return lock but then told it was ours. Was there less than a month because of poor conditions, and they are the "new" location... oh, and our lock was OPEN with tape holding it shut...

I want to thank Darryl who assisted me with my rental today. He was exceptional and would refer anyone to this location for storage. He went the extra mile to see that I was an senior citizen with out me telling him. He made the application process easy as well. Stay on the phone with me until everything was completed.

Originally, I thought it was a nice place with competitive rates - no; clean; the only difficulty I had encountered was the limited access - l0:00 p.m. cutoff (not too beneficial for moving) - but that turned out to only be the first.

Update - I can't recommend the company, but Manager Audrey (Jax.) gets FIVE STARS from me!

At 0610, 7 June, I found the "entry only" gate stuck in the fully open position. No other vehicles were on the property.
The gate should have a default setting of CLOSED. Otherwise, it is pointless & worthless. Still stuck open at 0640 am.

My first review was a good one because Leigh is a person that has good customer service skills. But she forgot to mention that this company would try and mess me over! Now for the company it self someone is a gold digger in that corporate office or the CEO for that matter. I have only been in my unit all most 4 months paying $123 a month. I get a notification that my rent will increase to $208 that's $85. I've known storage companies to go up $10 after about a year. That's how the last place I was did. I just wanted a unit close to my house and this is what I get. This world we live in I know God isn't pleased with how greedy man has become! Everyone wants to price gouge and that's not right. Why try and make it hard for your customers? You people should be ashamed of yourselves.

This place is a scam. We rented a storage facility for a total of $147 including insurance. After we moved all of things in, they raised our rate to $191 "due to current market rates". Totally a scam.

I've been renting a small unit and they raised my rent this year for 40% since 2021 but they're renting the exact same size unit much cheaper than I'm renting it to "new" customers only. I tried to solve this issue with the location I'm renting on Frazee Rd, San Diego as well as BBB. The answer they have given to us was basically the cheaper price tricks you to move in but once you move in, they can raise it as they wish to because I signed up for a lease agreement which as signed by computer generated signatures without letting me to read and understand their "uncontrolled rent cost raises". The state of California has a rent control for most major cities such as San Diego. I'm going to solve this unfair and unethical business via the city as well as the state. Please join me to solve this uncontrolled rent raise and unethical lease e-signing issues. Be careful if you're renting an unit or planing to rent!

They raised my rental prices on my 2 units every 3-5 months to the point where I emptied one unit and told them to sell things in larger unit as I didn't need them anyway. They did the exact same thing to a friend of mine as well. Dishonest, do not use them.

I recently visited the Extra Space Storage facility located in North Fort Myers and Janine was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful! Customer service is big for me and she knocked it out of the park!

20 years ago I moved into this storage rental facility. Extra space took over several years ago. Rent has gone up in last two years every six months. In last year has gone up almost 100.00 dollars. Enough is enough. Year or so ago cut off electricity to all units in my row. Asked when would be back on said would not. Told me if I did not like it move. I have moved. This company could care less about loyal customers. Employees are rotating thru like open door, I can see why. A scum bag operation.

When this place has a Rate Increase, they tell you about the Rate Increase the Same Day your current monthly payment is due, so if your going to look around, they have you for the entire month.
So, you pay the current month and if you don't like the rate, you have to PAY for another facility and Extra Space Storage at the Same Time.
I received Notice on the Due Date. Had I been Notified 2 weeks earlier, during the Current Month, I would have rented elsewhere and Moved during the Last week of my rental at Extra Space Storage. Now I have to prepare to pay for 2 Storage Units SCAM!
