Worst company EVER
December 8, 2023

Ordered iphone 12 mini; phone that was delivered had damaged chip and did not work. I was told they would honor the cyber monday price if I ordered a different phone. After ordering, I got the run around from customer service- after many, many phone calls and hours on the phone, they would not honor the discount even though they had a case number. Waster of time, order from backmarket instead. Horrible company, truly horrific customer service.

Well - it happened to me too. They quoted me $439 for my iPhone 13 in near mint condition and sure enough they evaluated it and reduced the payout to $284. What a joke of a company - stay far far away.

Gazelle lied, cheated
December 2, 2023

I bought an iPhone from Gazelle in December 2022 that was supposed to be unlocked. It wasn't. I paid extra for an unlocked version but Gazelle cheated me out of my money!

Google Fi sent me 2 new phones for moving 2 new lines. We wanted pixel watches so we looked at selling the phones. Gazelle would buy them without us dealing with the hassles of person to person.
Long story short. I could sell the phones on Ebay for $300+ each but after fees it was about $240. Gazelle said they'd give us $225.
So, sent Gazelle these NEW-in-box phones from Google (unlocked, all Google phones from them are). Gazelle said we sent them the 'wrong' phone and changed our valuation.
They said: You stated you'd send us the "Google Pixel 7a (unlocked)" We received "Google Pixel 7a (other)" Therefore our valuation changed from $225 to $94.

WHAT?!?! What is 'other', these phones are unlocked guaranteed. So I said no and to send me my phone back. They sent them WITHOUT the box WITHOUT the usb cable WITHOUT everything else in the box.

SCAM and now my phones are worth less money since they are not NIB.
See photos, what I sent and what I received. At least the serial numbers were correct, I've heard of them sending a different phone back to you.
Also attached proof they are unlocked since they came from Google.

Bait and Switch Scam
November 15, 2023

Bait and Switch fraud scam! Gave me an offer and now claim that my perfect phone has "scratches" on it, which it doesn't and they will adjust their offer from $579 to $344. My phone is perfect, always had tempered glass screen protector and in a heavy duty case since new, Gazelle is a total scam! This is a classic bait and switch and they are just hoping to catch enough people to make this fraud worthwhile.

Don't trust them!
November 13, 2023

They made an error in processing my trade-in and would not honor the initial price they quoted me. Save yourself the hassle and sell your phone to a reputable company. Seller beware!

They made a mistake in receiving the phone I sent to them. I tried numerous times through phone calls and emails to point out their mistake, but they had no desire to fix their mistake. This they offered me $78 less than what they initially offered. I will definitely not use them again.

Dec 5,2023: I'm updating this review from 1-star to 3-stars after customer service reach out to me after I posted my below review. We came to a compromise that made me about 80% satisfied, so I went with it. They purchased the phone from me for $564, which is still less than the original, but to save from the hassle of trying to deal with buyers on FbMarketplace or eBay, I accepted their compromise.

Original post: Gazelle has predatory practices. I had an offer for $641 for my iPhone 13 Pro, and before I mailed it to them, I took at least 10 picture of the phone from all angles so that there couldn't be any dispute about its condition – zero scratches/smudges. When I bought the phone it went straight from the box and into a case and never left it. So I shipped them the phone, and they dropped their offer down to $396. That is an insane $245 drop! I immediately declined that laughable "offer", and requested that they send my phone back, and it better be exactly in the same condition as it was when I sent it to them. I feel extremely preyed upon by this experience, and I will NEVER do business with them again or recommend them. The practice of getting a person to relinquish their phone, all for them to bait and switch dramatically on the price should put them out of business. Let's just say for the sake of argument that they considered the phone slightly lower quality than I do, the next level down for offer was around $615.

Scam
October 31, 2023

HORRIBLE. Please, do not send your phone to Gazelle. I saw on Google—by quickly looking at the fake reviews—that this was a good company to send my phone to be sold. They will lie and devalue your phone. One hundred percent. They'll say it's been lost/stolen and with scratches. They also will take their time to inspect it and will never email you. This company should be SHUT DOWN. Absolutely abysmal.

Bait and Switch
October 29, 2023

So they started with an offer of $55 + 10% Bonus for my Samsung S9+ phone. Got an email from them after they received it saying there were issues with the phone and they were dropping the offer to $11. They said (3 times) it was not a Verizon phone, it was the "Other" model. I bought the phone from Verizon and used it on their network and it says Verizon when you start the phone. How is that not a Verizon phone? They said the screen wasn't bright. When I got he phone back, the brightness setting was on low. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the screen. They said there were too many scratches on the screen and body. There are 0 ZERO scratches anywhere on the phone. They obviously didn't even look at the phone. They just wanted to drop the offer, hoping I would just accept it, rather than try to sell it at a reputable company. This company is a scam.

Not trusting company
October 19, 2023

I received an offer to sell a brand new, unopened Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 256 (Unlocked). When I sent the phone to the company, they sent me a note with a reduce offer stating my phone is other and not unlocked. The offer was reduced to half as well. I declined the offer and they returned my device removed from the box without the box and accessories the phone came with. I called the company and they refused to return. This company is a scam, and taking advantage of people. They give you a high offer to get you to send them your device, then they make up reasons to reduce the price, hoping you are desperate and will agree so they can increase their profit.

I sent them an iPhone 12 Pro,128 gig with screen protector on and locked phone from Verizon. They kept emailing me stating that Find My iPhone was on and it wasn't.I sent pictures of my icloud account to prove that.In return they said I sent them an incorrect phone. They said it was unlocked and that there were scratches on it although I had a screen protector on it since day one and a case they lowered the price $50.Poor experience.I have dealt with them before and had great experiences, but this time I'm done.

Classic bait and switch
October 17, 2023

DO NOT SELL ANYTHING TO GAZELLE. Like other SO MANY other sellers, their initial offer was vastly lowered post inspection. Then trying to get the device returned has been an even greater level of frustration. Their support is awful, their information flow stinks, their inspection process is arbitrary and subjective, and their customer support is anything but supportive. There is nothing positive to say about this company, and I just hope that one day my iPhone 11 Pro will be returned to me.

I won't be using them again. The second time, I made them ship my phone back. I was not going to accept their lower offer. My one year old phone was in perfect condition. They suggested their were scratches on the case. The phone had a protective case on it since day one. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH GAZELLE.

Stole my assesories
October 16, 2023

Stupid me, thought they would want everything that came in my IPhone XS box. In addition to a pristine phone, I sent unused wrapped ear buds, cord and plug and info card. Like everyone else, what they quoted, they then wanted to pay less, I declined and when they sent it back I got only the phone. The customer service person had to research and told me that the "terms and conditions" state they will keep and recycle anything extra. Couldn't find anything in the lengthy document pertaining to that. I have extras of everything, just couldn't understand why they think they have the right not to return everything one sends them. Avoid.

Dishonest Company
October 15, 2023

"I sent them two iPhone 14 Pro's that were in perfect condition -- no scratches, perfect functionality. Gazelle offered $623 each until inspection time. Gazelle claimed that one iPhone had "excessive scratches" and the other iPhone had pixels missing from the display. Consequently, Gazelle revised their offers for both phones down by approximately $200+. They essentially hold your devices hostage; either accept their new offer, or they will return both units to you. The problem is, plenty of time went by since the units were shipped to them, and when they inspected them. Resale values go down significantly week by week. Then I have no guarantee of the current condition of the phones, as when I sent them, they were in perfect condition, were cleaned, inspected by myself, and shipped (double boxed) in original Apple boxes, including the film that goes on the front and the back to protect devices during shipment. Gazelle claims the units have excessive scratches and pixel anomalies -- how did that happen? I decided to cut my losses short by accepting their low offer, and move on with my life -- just make the problem go away. Lesson learned. I've never had a problem selling my iPhones to Apple, Declutter, Amazon, or ebay."

I have a ipad air 3rd Gen Wi-Fi 64gb. They quoted me $187 then said after inspection there is scratches & dropped it to $63! I was like oh hell no & now I am worried for damage they did to my ipad! I took pictures before sending & have proof of condition So at this point making them send it back immediately & looking like I may have to sue them for damages to my Item that was in like new condition. I am beyond devastated, as I have been sick in bed for 2 week & no work Planning to cover my Phone & car insurance with the funds to now deal with this! Been in tears all day from the panic.

I tried to sell my phone to them, because they offered me $138.00 for it, so I had them send me a box to ship it to them. I received it and waited and waited and then I get an email that they needed to lower my value on the phone, so something is better than nothing right? Well then I guess they decided they were just going to steal my phone instead and sent me another email saying it now wasn't worth anything and they would recycle it for me. I then tried to email them, message them on their chat section on their website and couldn't get in touch with anyone, imagine that. I couldn't even leave a review on Google for them, so Google must be in on it or getting kick backs on phones they steal. DO NOT TRUST THESE CRIMINALS! Apparently it's worth $126 but they said it doesn't work anymore. I used this phone up until the day I put it in their box! They are liars and will steal your property, do not trust them.
