We use the mirror subscription which costs about $6 per year. Gixen says we use the service at our own risk, and that the software could fail. We have never noticed a failure in over 10 years of use. We have been outbid plenty of times, but that is part of the game. Well worth the cost.
We buy the mirror subscription which is priced very reasonably and it has worked every time as advertised. I recommend this program to anyone who is using ebay to buy even once in a while.
Gixen is truly the best auction sniper I ever used. The only auctions I failed to win were the ones on which I didn't bid high enough.
I subscribe to it, first because it is only fair and ethical to do so. The subscription also allows me to use the mirror system; it bids for me from 2 separate places at the same time and thus prevents any miss due to errors or snafus at eBay. The serious philatelist will subscribe to take advantage of the mirror system.
Gixen is astoundingly cheap. Other auction snipers I subscribed to in the past were far more expensive and couldn't deal with the "catchaps". They made me lose items I ought to have won. That never happened with Gixen.
The Gixen "dashboard" is clear, simple, very easy to use. One can increase or decrease a bid in under one minute. There's a good archive of former bids. The phone app is easy to install and works perfectly.
I am very grateful for Gixen. It has made my bidding on eBay a lot easier, more relax and efficient. I don't want to imagine what, for me, it would be like to do without Gixen.
My many thanks go to Mario, the founder, and his team. They constantly improve the program and provide a fabulous service for peanuts.
Brilliant system, however having paid for 2 years, and changed my ebay password Gixen does not respond any more and there is no customer dept to assist you. I can't fix it, so I'm out and onto another snipe platform, disappointed in the customer service!
PART 2! I did cantact Mario who said its something ebay had done, and that he had tried to help but didn't happen. I have now got a compiuter expert in and HE has since solved the problem this week and I'm back on. I stand by what I have said, they should have a dedicated helpline department, BUT it IS a VERY good system and VERY good value, BEATS! All the rest out there on price. I Looked after my problem but could NOT find better! I think thats a fair review.
I used only several time while action bidding at eBay. It is very useful and simple to use. I'm sure that wasn't my last experience of using it.
Worked just fine for one snipe before it would not take me back to my account, but directing to a page about mirror service. Not free. Not even close.
Sitejabber suggests you can upload media, but that doesn't include animated gifs or video clips. So I can only post the screens I see on Gixens site.
This looks like a connectivity problem of some kind. It might be on your side. Can you please email me at support@gixen.com to debug this? Thank you, Mario.
I used the free Gixen for a while, and was so impressed by how well I did buying on Ebay that I decided a few years ago to subscribe; for me it is well worth more than every penny. I work out the "sweet point" between where if I had paid more and won I would feel ripped off and if I had bid less and lost I wish I had bid more, I put in my Gixen and get on with the rest of my life. I find it particularly useful that I can group my potential bids so that if I want something that is on several auctions, I can Gixen all of them knowing that if I win one auction the subsequent bids will not be placed. Also that I can change my mind and simply withdraw my Gixen right up until a few seconds before the auction end.
I've been using Gixen for many years. It's easy to use, reliable, and saves me a lot of time and money. My bid is submitted just seconds before the auction is up, which prevents running the price up (unless other people are doing it) with a bidding "war". There are also a few extra conveniences that I get from buying a subscription, which is only $6.00 a year. One important one is use of a mirror server that submits a duplicate of my bid in case there is a problem with the first one getting to ebay intact. I've never had any issues with it. In addition, they are excellent at communicating when they do updates, or have technical difficulties, which seldom happens.
$ savings on auctions pays for itself many times over as you don't run up the final price by bidding, being bid against, bidding again... And you never have to stay up again until a late auction ends.
I have been using gixen for years and have not had a single bad experience. Thanks for the reliable service!
I used to use justsnipe but kept missing auctions. Finally I found Gixen which is my one and only go to sniper service now. It's great. It works everytime. It's easy to navigate and even includes group sniping options so if you want to snipe several of the same item but you only want to buy one, then it cancels your other group snipers once you get one. I could go on forever about it. It's one of those things that's so essential in your life that you wouldn't consider doing without it... like your smartphone or shoes. Bravo, Gixen. Keep up the good work.
I started using desktop-based sniping tools several years ago, in order to place the maximum bid I wanted without having time for afterthoughts and going above self-imposed limits. The issue I encountered is that my machine had to be on, not asleep, and connected to Internet.
The major concern I had with on-line sniping tools is that I would give my eBay password to someone else and I had to blindly trust them and trust that they would be well protected against hacking.
With Gixen I have a threefold piece of mind: 1) it does no longer handle my eBay password, 2) it provides me redundancy in placing my bid, by using also the backup server at a different location (so far, in several years, it hasn't missed any of my bids), and 3) I can set up a snipe from everywhere and I don't need to be sitting at my computer that runs the sniping program.
I never had the need to deal with the customer service, since Gixen has been rather reliable for me. Looking at the bulletin board I see that they are very proactive in dealing with all issues and glitches.
The service, on my opinion, is fairly cheap and well worth.
I have been a member of Gixen for about 15 years. Never a failure. Join for the Best. It's not expensive. You'll make it back with your first bid.
I used the free version for some years... it worked great. I decided to pay the small amount to get the paid-for version because I felt it was reliable and useful. It also keeps me from bidding beyond what I plan... I just bid ONCE, 6 sec before the end.
This is great and inexpensive software that does your eBay bidding for you. Just set and forget. I'm notified if outbid, and at auction end.
Thanks, Mario!
Gixen is a tool I suspect many professional Ebayers use. I remember when I used to sit and try and beat the clock on Ebay before making my final bid, only to be beaten by a bid that was placed at the very last few seconds Gixen has sorted that out for me. Now I only lose items if I am just not prepared to go to a high price from the start. Mostly Gixen wins with less than I thought I would pay, Brilliant! It also stops me being silly by bidding too much just because the other bidders are pushing the price up.The cost of a Gixen Mirror is easily covered by my savings So it is a Win Win for me.
I've used Gixen for years. It's the perfect sniping service: full-featured, simple, reliable, and free. Plus it is created and operated by one guy who is extremely helpful, smart, and devoted to his users.
I have been using the Gixen software for several years after evaluating and using 4-5 other packages. I have been very satisfied with its reliability and flexibility, as well as its low cost. Problems due to site downtime are absolutely minimal and communication from the administrator is excellent. I have won hundreds of lots on eBay using this package and would not change to another software package. I can wholeheartedly recommend Gixen for any serious eBay bidder.
I am using mirror memebership for years and never had single problem.
Excellent sniping service.
Excellent support by Gixen operator Mario.
I've been using Gixen for the last couple of years and I'm really pleased with it. Very easy to use, extremely reliable and well maintained. There is no software to install. I've paid the very modest annual contribution as a token of my appreciation for the money that I was saving by using Gixen. Thank you and well done Gixen:-)
Been using Gixen for a few years now - on two eBay sites.
Only auctions lost were by my own underbidding. Wouldn't even consider using any other snipe. Obviously if you read this far you would guess that I highly recommend Gixen. Thanks :)
Answer: TOTALLY LEGIT! Been a paid up user for over a decade and never had a single problem.
Answer: It is obvious the reviewer had all the problems that he incorrectly blames on Gixen because he has visited other websites that have put malware/spyware/keyloggers/viruses on his computer. He won't admit that his problems are his own fault so falsely blames GIXEN for his own incompetence.
Answer: I have not needed to reach Customer Service. Their online help is pretty good. Just read.
Answer: It just works. Simple user interface. You can just "set it and forget it". Maybe the best online tool I have ever encountered.
Answer: Nothing at all. Gixen main service is free up to 4 winning snipes a month. Reliability for the free service is 99.5%. If you want higher reliability you can subscribe to Gixen Mirror. In that case your bid is sent twice, from two servers in different regions to minimize chance of failure. Gixen Mirror is inexpensive, around $6 / year, and there are different subscription types that can be seen on the settings page.
Derek, there is a support email (support@gixen.com) to which I always respond within 24 hours. What likely happened here is that by changing your ebay password your ebay authorization has been invalidated. This is free of cost and easy to renew.
