Great Experience

I recently ordered three muffulettas from Central Grocery in New Orleans as a birthday gift to my son (and his family). The shipment arrived on time and in excellent shape. I have no complaints but I do have lots of praise.

Lousy experience

Ordered ricotta cheesecake ($160 bucks worth) for Thanksgiving... ordered well within the guidelines... the product was a no show for Thanksgiving... the cheesecake turned to saw dust as it sat for two days in some FedEx facility without refrigeration... it arrived late Friday, two days late and left out in the rain... customer care was missing in action and frankly incompetent... this is a VC backed company... note to BOD: Mark it zero.

Don't Be Fooled

Their products look interesting and Danny Meyer invested a small fortune in them. I hope he can afford the loss. These people are clueless about the items they're getting from other suppliers, way over-priced and their customer service is non-existent. I received sloppily decorated Halloween Oreos and Halloween Cookie Do with incomplete baking instructions and no labeling of flavors on the containers. These two items cost me 110 dollars, and that was after applying a 15 dollar discount. I don't wonder that there is no place for product review on their site. They are pretentious as well.

Absolutely HORRIBLE

I ordered Ginos East Chicago style pizza from Goldbely for a pizza party 2 weeks in advance of said party.
When the pizzas did not come 4 days before the party(and a week after they promised me delivery) I called and was told they would be delivered the next day
When they did not show up I called they next day and was told they would be delivered the following day.
They never showed up and I had to order Pizza Hut for my party
When I called after the weekend they told me they were never shipped! WOW
They offered to wave the delivery charge HORRIBLE service and NO customer service what so ever
I can never use them again!
Hey should be closed down
I hope their vendors become aware of this as I feel it hurts their business also

We also did offer to expedite the order to you while refunding your shipping charges entirely on the order. No Refunds or Exchanges

I was unaware of the policy surrounding refunds and/or exchanges and that Goldbely decides on a 'case by case basis' in the handling of orders that arrive damaged or not still cold. My most recent order arrived in poor shape due to the dry ice escaping from the unsealed plastic bags. I ordered seafood and dairy so I was not going to take a chance and serve the items delivered. I contacted Goldbely in short order and was surprised to find that even though orders are done on a 24/7 basis, their customer care department is only available Monday thru Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Once Goldbely reached out three days later, I was given a satisfactory resolution in that they would resend another order of the ruined products that I received. However, going forward I will be more cautious in what I order for fear that I may be stuck with spoiled products and not given a remedy.

Hi Anna- I'm sorry to hear you had an issue with your delivery, but as you saw first hand, we always do everything we can to make it right. You are correct that our customer service phone number is only Monday - Friday, however we do offer online email support on Saturday as well. There are no refunds or exchanges as we only ship perishable food, however we always make sure our customers only have the best experience and will always reship or refund if an order doesn't arrive in perfect condition. Never again

What a horrible service. They stored my credit card info, and pre-populated an address from an older order. Well, now my ex-boss will get 2 pan pizzas from me after he fired me. THANKS GOLDBELY! I HATE YOU.

Hi Bill- I'm very sorry to hear about the issues you faced, however we don't actually store any credit card info (it's all handled via a secure 3rd party) and while we used to pre-populate the address field using your last ship to address, that hasn't been the case for quite some time. We do provide numerous opportunities to double check your ship to address both on the checkout screen as well as in your confirmation email (as well as additionally when it ships out). We do hope you'll give us another chance in the future however.

I was given a 6-month food subscription as a wedding gift and I get so excited when I see a box waiting for me when I get home! Our first box was a Steak, Onion, Mushroom and Gruyere Savory Pie and it was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. It arrived safely packaged with ice packs and cooking instructions. I would recommend this subscription to anyone! It's unique, exciting and declious! Thanks, Goldbely for such an awesome idea!

Horrible

Don't ever use this site, they have zero customer service and I paid extra to have something delivered for next day and it wasn't! Still trying to get in touch with someone from there but no phone number and they don't return an email this is horrible service do not use and they give the brands they represent a bad name

Not even close

I paid a lot, way too much for BBQ from Mighty Quinns. The product arrived and was no where near weight advertised, it was in a loose unsealed plastic bag and packed in dry ice. The meat is like powder it is so freezer burned. For The prices charged someone could have taken care to see that the product arrived in good condition. Never Again

Two Perfect Orders

I have ordered twice in the last month and have had perfect results. The first was a birthday gift of cake from Dockside Bakery, the second pizzas from Imo's in St. Louis. Both were gifts, and the recipients commented on the fine packaging and the product received. Of course, Goldbely has no control over the food nor the packaging, but as go-between, they have chosen companies that offer quality products and pack them well. Goldbely does a fine job of customer service, letting you know when the order is confirmed, shipped, and provides a tracking number. I had to contact their support team, and I got a near immediate, cordial response. I will certainly use Goldbelly again when planning unique gifts!

I have bought several things from goldbely. Some I liked and some I didn't. But in each case I got exactly what I ordered. The Kentucky Bourbon Barrel cake was good but nothing special. Sarge's monster sandwich kit is supposed to be 10 to 12 inches tall. Mine was 8 and 4 inches of that was the bread. I couldn't even make anything like the photo if I folded it up a bunch of times and only put it in the first inch of bread. The Stella's spicy cheese rolls were okay, but there was next to no cheese in them. The Jack's Stack Poor Russ kit was very tasty. But any problems have just been with not caring for what I ordered, not that I received anything incorrect. And that can happen at any restaurant. The packages arrive on time and in good condition. I have had zero problems with the goldbely portion of the experience. And I go to the website of the company just to make sure it's a good deal, and the regular goldbely price is usually basically the same, though a few have been cheaper on the website, but I buy stuff when it's on special which makes it less than ordering directly from the companies that have that option. I'm satisfied. It would be nice, however, if they had a space for reviews on their site. So you would know don't order the Sarge's for 100$ because you will have a giant loaf of rye with tiny meats in it, though it does taste good. Or don't order Stella's there is no cheese in the cheese bread. Or hell yeah get the lobster rolls. Etc.

Edit: They do now have reviews, but I see no way to actually post a review so it seems they take the good blurbs from the emails they send out to rate your experience and post those. So not really reviews since you don't get to see any negative responses. I guess then I would be wary of places with no reviews. Maybe they are new. But maybe no one had anything good to say about them.

I ordered pizzas for a Christmas party. I ordered them a month ahead of time. FIrst, they were sent to a wrong address, in another state. OK. I still had over a week until my party. I emailed Goldbely. They said they'd have them to me in time.

From then on, I couldn't contact them again. They wouldn't return my calls or answer my emails. Finally, the day I was supposed to get the pizzas, I got another number. A rep actually answered, but his story was highly unlikely. He said, "Oh. We just heard an hour ago that Geno's East can't fill your order." What a coincidence - when I finally talked to someone, it was just an hour after they had an answer...

This site is an absolute scam. Don't count on getting what you ordered. Now, I'm waiting to see if the promised refund actually happens. I'm doubting it.

Ordered a gift for a friend that just came out of the hospital. Selected the specific order date from their calendar, and paid an extra $25 to have it overnighted. A total of $60 for a few cake pops... I needed it to arrive on time so I was ok with it. Well surprise surprise, the Goldbely calendar doesn't account for holidays... yes in 2015 their calendar shows incorrect delivery dates.

I contacted their support and got nothing. They apologized for the "mis-understanding". I explained there was no mis-understanding... their website showed me the wrong date and now a gift I needed to be delivered on a specific date won't be. For the prices they charge, they should have offered something for messing up something so basic. Canceled my account... they could care less.

I read these reviews before placing my order but I really wanted to try a Whisky Cake from a baker in Brooklyn (I'm obsessed with booze cakes) so I chanced it during a sale they offered a few weeks ago. My order arrived the day I requested it and with no issues. The best part was that IT WAS THE BEST WHISKY CAKE I HAVE EVER HAD. I'm so glad I didn't take these reviews too seriously because I had quite the opposite experience. I would have missed out on what is now my favorite cake. I now look forward to trying other stuff in the near future!

I'm torn on this site

I'm torn on this site. The food is overpriced and the shipping is unreliable but the customer service is decent. I ordered babka for my family. I checked on the date it was scheduled to be shipped - it did. I checked the next day, still hadn't shipped. I contacted Goldbely. Suddenly it magically shipped within an hour of my email. The bread would now ship over the weekend though, so instead of arriving to its destination within 48 hours of shipment, it would be 5 days after shipping that it'd arrive. It ended up arriving dry and stale. Yuck. But Goldbely was apologetic, claiming it was the vendor's fault, not theirs and that they'd happily credit my account an equivalent credit.

So a week later I decided to use the credit. My birthday was coming up and I ordered crab legs for myself. Again, I checked on the day they were to ship - they hadn't. I checked the next day - still hadn't shipped. I contacted customer service and they replied, oh sorry, the company ran out. They can send them next week. I'm very disappointe that I was not notified of thisprior to ME contacting THEM. My birthday happens to fall on New Year's Day so I was planning on having a special dinner with the crab. Also, it's about 36 hours away and I have no backup plan now. Forget it, just cancel the order and refund my money I said. I doubt I'll get a refund. I'll probably end up with another damn account credit but at this point I don't want to deal with them again and suffer further disappointment. Also, I realize things can be the fault of the vendor, but Goldbely chooses which vendors to deal with and needs to hold some accountability. Anyway, I suppose it's kinks to be worked out with a new business, but I don't plan on doing business with them again.

I have ordered twice from this site. The first time, the cake arrived melted from the heat. They offered a $5 credit that couldn't be used with any specials. For some crazy reason, I decided to try it again and ordered pizza. When I placed the order, it didn't indicate there was an additional shipping charge despite my entering my shipping address -- it indicated "free shipping." I received an email the next day to say that shipping was an additional $30. I didn't authorize it, yet they shipped it anyway without my consent. And now this unauthorized order is a day late, probably spoiled. Never again.

We actually don't have a $5 credit, so I'm also unsure where that information would have come from and we fully guarantee that every order will arrive in proper, safe, edible condition, so we would never just offer such a small credit for such a serious situation. We lastly would never authorize additional charges on a customer's credit card without approval and were that ever done, you'd certainly be within your rights to charge back the charge with your credit card company- which I'm not aware of having been done. Totally agree with first reviewer and had similar experience. Food arrived at room temperature (must be refrigerated), and was offered another shipment plus a 10 dollar coupon. Same thing with second shipment, insufficient packaging and food again arrived at room temperature. Then the coupon expired after just 72 hours, and now no response from company. Be very careful, customer service is extremely poor.

This site totally let me down. I went back and forth with David about shipping options and when my cupcakes would arrive (as a gift for someone). I really didn't want to pay $10 a cupcake and he said not to worry... place the order and then he will select 2 day shipping and I will get a partial refund. That was on a Friday. Monday I wanted to check about the refund and was told oh sorry they don't offer 2 day shipping... but great news the order is being shipped today (Monday). Monday afternoon I asked where my tracking number was and no response. Tuesday morning I was told oh sorry it actually shipped today. So an order that was place Friday wasn't shipped until Tuesday and to make up for it they sent me a $10 gift card for my next order... This site sucks and so does their customer service.
