The company has established a reputation for providing a user-friendly online auction platform, with many customers appreciating the ease of bidding and tracking items. Positive feedback highlights the quality of products and efficient transaction processes. However, significant concerns arise regarding website performance, excessive shipping charges, and insufficient customer support, particularly in resolving issues related to missing items and unclear invoicing. Overall, while the platform is favored for its convenience and product variety, improvements in customer service responsiveness and transparency in seller charges are necessary to enhance the overall customer experience.

Currently I am sad that the app was removed. It had its issues and glitches but made things so much more convenient then the website. But there should be a place to review auction houses on the site or warning for other bidders since not every auction house is made equally.
I bid on a gun in the Hermiston auction, I have emailed the auctioneer twice to see if I actually won and never received a response. Nothing!
I'm not sure if this survey request is for a specific auction (I bid with two auction houses yesterday 1/1/2026), or if it's just a general survey.
My opinions and comments are not aimed specifically towards my bidding yesterday but rather at many (not all) HiBid auctions in general.
It seems to me that there is fraudulent Shill Bidding going on. For those that don't know what "Shrill Bidding is..." A seller (or someone acting for them) places bids on their own items to artificially drive up the price, creating a false sense of demand."
My example being that there be five identical items in a row (or sometimes staggered to throw people off) and all the bids are exactly the same. I was looking at some Prestige Coin sets the other day, all five were at $35.00 each, up to the day of the auction. Each set was identical in all aspects. I find that odd and disconcerting.
I have attempted to notify HiBid but I have no avenue to report my suspicions that this is happening. There WAS a customer service option but now it has been removed from HiBid or it has been made very difficult to find. If a company offers customer service it should be in plain sight.
Hopefully you will be able to forward my concerns to HiBid and Shrill Bidding will be stopped (or at least reduced).
Bidding is easy. Payments to some of the auction houses is more difficult than it should.
I will not use platform for Vail out of Pasco WA. They're misleading people in their ads and have kids working at the site, even driving the forklift.
The machine is used, dirty, and has a lot of scuffs. They sold this machine as new. It clearly states that "if it is used, they will post a refer to the picture" well they did not post the picture. It's a disappointment especially during these hard times. There has to be more transparency.
Hi M,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear that the item you received didn’t meet your expectations and understand how frustrating that can be.
While each auction listing is managed directly by the seller, transparency in item descriptions and photos is very important to us. If you haven’t already, please reach out to our support team with the auction details so we can review the listing and help look into this further.
We appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to improve the experience for our bidders.
I think that ultimately, the experience would be much improved if you were sent an email or some kind of notiification about the status of your bids (i. E. if you've been outbid), so that you can go and check on the item. I found I was glued to my screen for over an hour as lots closed, since I wanted to be sure I got some of them.
Hi Kay,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how important it is to stay updated on your bids. HiBid does offer outbid notifications by email, and you can subscribe to these from your bidder account so you don’t have to keep watching the screen.
If you need help setting this up, our support team would be happy to assist.
We appreciate your feedback, and thank you for being part of the HiBid community.
I bid on several items and was successful on many of them. The only downside is that if you leave a bid you actually have to be onsite to monitor the auction or someone will outbid you at the last second. It means a few hours of computer time.
Hi Dave,
Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re glad to hear your bidding was successful. HiBid does offer outbid notifications by email, which you can enable from your bidder account to help you stay informed. As auctions get closer to closing, it’s still a good idea to keep an eye on the bidding — or place a max bid — so you don’t miss out.
If you ever need help with notifications, our support team is happy to assist.
Thank you for being part of the HiBid community.
I suspected shill bidding on a couple items, and ran tests on 3 more auctions. The shill bidder (AuctionScout1234) or something like that kept bidding up to my max bid and running out the clock. Over several items, watching the bids, they had multiple bid counts but didn't win an auction. I don't know if this is legal, but certainly not ethical.
Hi John,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear you received the items you were bidding on, but we’re sorry to learn of your concerns regarding bidding activity. We take reports like this seriously, and we encourage you to contact our support team with the specific auction details so we can review the activity further.
We appreciate you being part of the HiBid community and bringing this to our attention.
The seller automatically charged the credit card and fee even though in the fine print they would allow paying by check or cash, but only if you called them the day before to allow that form of payment. Every auction company that allows payment other than credit card sends a message with the invoice letting the customer choose how to pay upon picking item up.
This should have been done here instead of automatically charging my credit card.
Hi LeRay,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear about the confusion regarding payment options. Each seller on HiBid sets their own terms and processes for payment, and we understand how frustrating it can be when expectations don’t match your preferred method.
If you run into a situation like this again, we recommend reaching out directly to the seller to discuss payment options. And if you ever have questions about the terms listed, our support team is always happy to help review them with you.
Thank you for being part of the HiBid community.
This is a good place to go to find auctions and there is nothing simpler find the auctions that interest you sign on and bid it's that simple
Hi Ron,
Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re glad to hear you’ve had an easy and enjoyable experience finding and bidding in auctions on HiBid. We appreciate you being part of the HiBid community — happy bidding!
I won a bid for a chair that was $40. Then the auctioneer told me it would cost an additional $140 to ship. The box is not even big that the chair is in. Then when I told them that they can keep the $40, they said it would cost an additional $20 to cancel. Ultimately, it cost me $60 to win a bid and not even get what I wanted. Very unprofessional from the auctioneer company. I looked up the chair online and the box is not even that big. Very disappointing experience
Hi Mike,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear about the difficulty you encountered with shipping costs and cancellation fees — we understand how frustrating that can be.
Shipping rates and policies are set by each individual auction company, and they can vary based on their processes and carriers. If you ever run into a similar situation, we recommend reaching out to the seller directly to discuss options, and our support team is also happy to review the listing details with you.
We appreciate your feedback and thank you for being part of the HiBid community.
Everything was good with the bidding process and winning successful bids, the only issue was when getting my invoice from the auction company. I have different billing and shipping addresses, and they told me that my billing address was written in for both. Thankfully I caught it and updated them in time, but not sure why that happened when my address attached to my account is my shipping address and the address attached to my credit card is correctly put in…
Hi Christian,
Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re glad to hear the bidding and checkout process went smoothly overall. We’re sorry for the confusion with your billing and shipping addresses on the invoice — we know that can be frustrating.
If you ever notice something like this again, reaching out to the auction company directly, as you did, is the best step. And if you have any questions about your account details, our support team is always happy to help review them with you.
Thank you for being part of the HiBid community.
Always a wonderful experience, bidding process is open and understandable. Payment and shipping quick and efficient. A total A+ experience on all levels

The last couple of auctions, when I'm bidding from my phone, I have to keep logging into the site. Hasn't caused me to miss a deal - yet.
Otherwise its a great app!
Hi Pam,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear you’ve enjoyed using HiBid overall. We’re sorry to hear you’ve had to log back in more often than expected while bidding on your phone — we understand how that can be inconvenient.
If this continues, feel free to reach out to our support team and we’d be happy to help look into it with you.
Thank you for being part of the HiBid community — and happy bidding!
I bid with Bidllama and I am very upset with what I received as opposed to what was shown and described! I am waiting on a response from Bidllama and it looks as if I will have to drive to their warehouse as soon as I get the chance! I am very upset as this was to be a Christmas tree that me and my kids had gathered for to assemble and I open the box in front of the only to find out I've been swindled for the time being at least!
Hi RJ,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re very sorry to hear that the item you received didn’t match what you were expecting — especially since it was meant to be something special for you and your kids. We understand how disappointing that must have been.
You’re doing the right thing by reaching out to the auction company directly so they can review the situation with you. If you ever need help locating listing or account details, our support team is also happy to assist.
Thank you for being part of the HiBid community, and we hope this is resolved for you soon.
HiBid as a service is amazing because it allows you to look at auctions and potentially purchase items all across the country. It's a tremendous amount of exposure for auction houses and sellers. The flip side is that it's not entirely a win for bidders. Some auctions are quite restrictive -- without shipping or shipping for high sums, as well as bidding "after" the online auction is over. Highly advantageous for sellers, not for bidders. But I'm learning where to shop and where to skip...
Hi Frank, thank you for your detailed review. We’re glad you find value in HiBid and appreciate its nationwide auction access. Shipping costs and bidding rules are set by each auction house, so experiences may vary. Learning which auctions fit your preferences best is a smart approach. If you have questions or want help reviewing a listing, our support team is happy to assist. Thank you for being part of the HiBid community.

I read and understood the terms and conditions/payment portion of the auction. Info stated " Your credit card will be charged as soon as possible (usually right after the auction ends)." This was all fine, but I would appreciate getting an invoice before my card being charged, especially if something was wrong that needed corrected. It has been over 24 hours since the bidding on my items and the company still has not sent me an invoice though I have been charged.
Hi Seth, thanks for your feedback. We understand why you’d want to see your invoice before making a payment. Each auction company manages its own payment and invoicing process, so the timing can be different for every sale. Some auction houses charge cards right after the auction ends, while others send invoices first. This can make things feel inconsistent for bidders.
We recommend reaching out directly to the auction company to request a copy of your invoice and confirm the charge details. If you’re unable to get a response or need help understanding the payment terms listed on the auction, our support team is happy to assist. We appreciate you taking the time to leave a thoughtful review and sharing your experience. The team is happy to assist. Thank you for being part of the HiBid community.
Had a nightmare with my email and many issues trying to get things sorted but these guys were very helpful. Have not got things fixed yet but thanks to customer service I will get things done correctly. Thanks so much
Hi Cheryl, thank you for your review. We’re glad our customer service team was able to help you through a frustrating situation and get things moving in the right direction. We appreciate your patience and kind words, and we’re confident everything will be sorted out for you. Thanks for being part of the HiBid community.
For the last couple of weeks I've been bidding on specific items. I didn't receive my warning that I was outbid timely. I will say my att internet has been spotty so that may have been the reason. I will keep looking for the item.
Hi Anita, thank you for your feedback. We understand how important timely outbid notifications can be, especially when you’re watching specific items. Connectivity issues can sometimes affect how quickly alerts come through, but we appreciate you mentioning that and sharing your experience. If you ever want help checking your notification settings or reviewing an auction before it closes, our support team is happy to assist. We appreciate you staying with HiBid and wish you the best of luck finding the item you’re looking for.
Accidently clicked on a bid and didn't mean to auction ended on the lot I didn't want. Tried to contact the auction house to explain to them and no response just the bill for something i just accidently clicked
Answer: Licensed auctioneer here- auction law is that if you give notice that you need to retract your bid before the hammer falls (or the auction ends online) that the auctioneer is required to retract the bid. Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
Answer: Very easy. If you dont get someone immediately they do call back. But once again if you have a problem with items contact the auction house not hibid. Hibid doesn't auction they only provide the platform
Answer: Most auctioneer there are scammers, a thrift store would be better option.
Answer: YES! Confirmed by an auctioneer I know. Hibid auctioneers can see your "maximum bid" and in most states it's legal to "shill" an auction or to bid against the public bidders - to "ensure reasonable sale prices" per national auctioneers associations. Also, anyone can set up an identity and bid against you. Although that may get interesting when they have to pay a commission to "buy" their own item!
Answer: "Mechanically challenged" is often a term auctioneers use to indicate that an item might not be functioning properly. It usually means that the piece needs repairs, doesn't operate as intended, or may have some technical issues. It's best to reach out to the seller for a clearer explanation to avoid any surprises. By confirming the exact condition directly with them, you'll have a better understanding of what you're bidding on.
Answer: Yes, if you suspect any fraud, please contact HiBid directly at 844-775-4774. Our team is here to assist you and ensure a safe and secure experience.
Answer: Some auctioneers require credit card verification as part of the bidder registration process. This process involves a temporary authorization charge of $1.00 to ensure the card is valid. In some cases, additional processing fees or taxes might cause the amount to appear slightly higher, such as $1.46. Please rest assured that this is not an actual charge but rather a temporary hold that will be released by your card issuer. Typically, these holds clear within 5-7 business days, depending on your financial institution. If the charge doesn't disappear after this time, we recommend contacting your credit card provider for further assistance.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out regarding your bidder rating and the reasons behind it. Bidder ratings on HiBid are determined by various factors, such as your bidding activity and whether you've been permanently approved or declined by auction companies in the past. Unfortunately, HiBid support and bidders themselves cannot view or access these ratings or the specific reasons behind them, as this information is exclusively available to auctioneers. The best way to gain insight is to contact an auctioneer you have a good relationship with or one whose auctions you'd like to participate in. They may be able to provide some clarity or work with you to address any concerns.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out! We understand how it can be confusing when an item is removed before an auction ends, but please rest assured it's not a scam. Sometimes auctioneers encounter unforeseen issues and may need to cancel or relist items. Keep in mind that auctioneers often work with consignors to ensure items are sold fairly, which can involve reserve prices or other considerations that may or may not be visible on specific listings. We recommend reaching out to the auctioneer directly for more details. If you have any difficulty reaching them, we're here to help facilitate communication.
Answer: Yes, HiBid regularly features a wide selection of motorcycles available for auction.
