HP's reputation is increasingly marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and product reliability issues. While some customers praise the quality and reliability of HP products, particularly laptops and printers, many express frustration over unresponsive support, complicated return processes, and inadequate troubleshooting assistance. Common complaints include lengthy wait times, ineffective repairs, and a perceived lack of care for long-term customers. This growing discontent suggests a need for HP to enhance its customer service approach and address product support challenges to retain customer loyalty and improve overall satisfaction.

HP takes advantage of customers by refusing to show terms and conditions until AFTER you have installed your product and can not return it. They then extort you for money to use your own printer you have paid for for $1.99/month or they will put a stop hold on your printing activities. It is a scam and fraudulent practice. I tried calling to resolved the issue and the agent on the line told me they'd find a way to end the call with me because they were frustrated. He then took an arbitrary comment about Mother Theresa and said I was being racist and hung up. Don't buy HP products unless you're a huge fan of 1984 - they'll email you to let you know they keep track of what you are printing, so pray you're not printing medical sensitive information.
I will continue to post on every blog known to man that HP has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Case Number *******733 - has been Created CRM:*******948
I used the instant ink for a year or so, then got very sick and had to stop all work. I called HP to pause my service, they did it for a few months, then turned me back on with NO KNOWLEDGE OF MINE. I must have paid months of ZERO VALUE monthly printing. Now I want to REALLY PRINT something and they want to charge me MONTHS OF NO USE in order to turn my printer on. I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH EVERYONE THERE FOR HOURS AND ALL THEY DO IS READ DIFFeRENT WAYS TO NOT HELP ME. I will continue to post on every page possible until someone actually calls me back. I will send hundreds of emails and posts because it is SIMPLY NOT RIGHT TO HOLD CUSTOMERS HOSTAGE and that is what HP is all about.

After going round and round with HP over this defective laptop, they shipped the 'smashed by them' unit back to me and have done nothing about correcting it. NOTHING.
$8,000 of junk is what I have now. DO NOT BUY from Hewlett Packard (HP).
This is a pro level workstation laptop that cost $8k!
Ran for about 3mo and the laptop completely died. Turn it on and all it would do it blow the fans.
Sent to HP after it took them 10 days to send me a box.
They got it and diagnosed it as a bad motherboard.
Took them 8 months and hundreds of emails to repair it.
It came back looking like someone had used it for a hockey puck. Scratches and dents all over the machine.
Sent it back again. Again they had to send a new freeking box which took a week.
The put all new plastic on it and returned it to me.
Worked for about a month, then a big red line appeared on the screen (dead pixels) and horizontal and vertical lines came off that covering the whole screen. Wasn't anything I'd done, the machine had sat on my desk the whole time.
Sent it back again, again with the week long box issue.
This time they returned it one of the hinges is sticking up 1/8" and they STOLE the WWAN module - that's right, HP outright stole a part off my laptop.
Now they say their policy is to replace the laptop because there have been more than 3 hardware issues. But they are refusing to do this because I didn't buy it from an 'authorized reseller' whatever the heck that means.
They want to send me another box and repair this junk machine again.
At this point I have zero confidence in HP being able to repair this laptop, I have been a good customer of HP's buying dozens of laptops and servers over the last 25 years. NO MORE. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HP PRODUCT AND HOPE YOU DON'T EITHER.
Lousy computer, lousy service, lousy care package. Goose chase after goose chase, zero result on repair. Waste of your time, time after time. Chasing phone numbers, put on hold, get transferred time after time. Require frivolous info about you and your computer, dates, type, price, S/N... If you want run around, they get you going on the run to eternity.
Your printer cartridge id method FAILS and it blocks legit cartridges from use...repeatedly! Even when I've taken the steps to turn it off! The cartridges are ridiculously expensive and don't last long at all. NOW the ability to scan to my computer has failed due to your 'lovely' updates and locks my all-in-one printer up and YES I've tried your suggestions. I have been a loyal HP purchaser, BUT I've had it! Never buying your products again. Things like replacing cartridges, printing, and scanning should literally be a one button process and you have so muddled it...EASY-of-USE is clearly something you are not familiar with or you just don't care about your customers!
This company sold me a monthly subscription for ink. I cancelled it when I realized I wasn't using it. They actually locked my printer when I stopped the subscription. They are demanding I return my full ink cartridges which I paid for, and want me to buy different ink cartridges. There is no way to contact customer service about this. Instead I will toss out the printer and buy from another company. DO NOT BUY HP!
Since 2017 i have purchsed 5 hp keyboards. Every one of them has been a piece of junk. After a year they stop connecting to my wifi. (and i have lived in 2 different places with 4 different isp's). After 6 months the batteries die. Then they staarre repeating letters and typing letters other than what i have typed. (hence the spelling mistakes in this review which i have left to show you what hhaaaapenns). They used to be a reputable company with gggreaat customer servvice. Now, NO customer service and crappy products. I also have 2 laptops (yes big mistake) neither of whichh wwok correctly. And a printer. Again, junk. DON'T WAST YOUR MONEY ON ANYTHING HP. IT WONT WWORK AND THEY WILL NOT SUPPORT IT.
Can your laptops stop $#*!ing disconnect from the wifi every time a minor inconvenience happens on my signal im trying to play but i keep disconnecting and it leads me to lose on every $#*!cing game my wifi is fine on other devices except for my $#*!y hp laptop that keeps on disconnecting from my wifi. Im so close on throwing this laptop on the trash
Can i give a -10?
Bought a HP printer in South Africa, never has anyone advised that their printers are region set. Moved to New Zealand, wanted to buy cartridges but none available. The printer i have can be bought in NZ, it looks exactly the same, just have a different "model nr". The cartridges does not fit in mine. Phoned HP whereafter they advices about the region set, they said they can do a region reset but there was terms (they can only try 3 x times, if unsuccessful after 3rd attempt the printer would not be able to work anymore). I had to buy NZ cartridges worth over $200 for the region reset. Unfortunately after the 2nd attempt it still did not work so i dis not try a 3rd time. I then approached them as why does HP not inform their clients when buying a printer that you cannot use it in a different country. That it like witholding info? After a lot of back and forth and a month later they offered to sent me a set of free cartridges for my "inconvenience". I opted for the 963 (sa) cartridges as then i will be able to use my current printer that is still basically brand new (even have the plastics on although its just over 2 years old). 2 weeks on and still no cartridges, then they say they cannot sent it as they cant send the SA once. They then offered me 1. Best price guaranteed on a new printer, that i would not be able to get at any retailer. 2. Set of cartridges for the new printer. 3. Discounted prices on any HP products. I requested prices on 2 printers, cane back and told me they dont have then in stock (whereafter i told them i can walk into any retailer and buy that specific one off the shelf), then suggested another printer and the best price is $300. This printer can be bought on special from Noel Leeming for $189 but they want to charge me $300 (and this is best prices guaranteed now). I told them to just leave it and send me 965 cartridges. Now they want to know what printer did i buy, the serial number and from who. Why? They offered me cartridges, why do I need to tell them anything? Why would i go out and buy a new printer before they have send the cartridges if they have on 2 previous occasions not followed through on their "deal"! HP has disappointed me to say the least.
The salesman at Best Buy encouraged me to sign up for the free ink trial where HP tracks and sends ink as needed. However, when the period ends in 6 months if you haven't used the cartridges up they no longer work. Even if you have a new one not opened. This plan only useful if you make lots of copies which I said I did not and he encouraged it anyway. Now I have to sign up for monthly fee extension or go buy a different cartridge and throw mine away! Totally wasteful and environmentally bad! Also false advertisement from Best Buy. I am still using the original cartridge.
HP does not allow you to contact a human. They want you to use their virtual assistant which will only answer the questions they want to answer. HP wants to control the customer and pad their profits. I own the printers. I paid for them. I did not lease a printer. I did not sign an agreement with HP saying that I would only use the printer in the way THEY insist I use it. HP's own virtual assistant says that alignment wastes ink. Yet HP will not allow me, the owner of the product and the person who has to purchase the ink, to turn off the automatic alignment "feature" that runs, WITHOUT MY CONSENT, every time I replace a printer cartridge. HP will give me NO ONE to discuss this with. HP has NO accessible HUMAN customer service. I will NOT recommend HP to ANYONE for ANY HP product. I will not purchase another HP product until they become CUSTOMER oriented.
VERY POOR COMPANY if you can think for yourself and want to make your own decisions about products you purchased and own.
Your customer service sucks. You need people that understand English and speaks English. I'm asking for one thing and he is trying to sell me something, instead of fixing my issue. Now I have to figure things out for my self😡😡😡 useless!
HP TAKES YOUR PRINTER HOSTAGE! SINCE THIS IS A SUBSCRIPTION. AND IT IS CHARGED IN ARREARS (NOT FOR THE INK, BUT FOR THE SERVICE!) IF YOU EVER HAVE TO CANCEL YOUR CC (DUE TO YOUR CC BEING COMPROMISED), HP SHUTS DOWN YOUR PRINTER (THAT YOU OWN AND IS IN YOUR OWN HOME -- THEY TAKE YOUR PRINTER HOSTAGE!) -- LITERRALLY -- THEY COMMANDEER YOUR PRINTER. THEN, YOU HAVE TO GIVE THEM YOUR NEW CC AND YOU CAN'T EVER STOP THE HOSTAGE. STAY AWAY. IT IS A SCAM!
Their deceptive and greedy ways to make a big buck is disgusting. I purchased a compatible ink cartridge for my HP 8210 printer that was half the price of the HP one. After installing it I got an error message and would not print at all. I like many other past customers will never buy a HP product again.
If you do NOT purchase the company's ink plan -- they are connected to your new printer and-- they
Will remove the print word and replace it with save or cancel. Your printer no longer works! This should be against the law! I was forced to buy another brand of printer and it works! Do NOT buy a H P printer!~~!
In my years as a state administrator, I have purchased more than 100 HP printers and have used them personally in my home business. The printers have always been solid and support satisfactory. However that is no longer the case. My previous printer would not maintain a connection to the wifi, but I was unable to convince technical support, so I just bought a new printer, another HP. It is a 9015e and works well, but if I refuse to buy HP printer cartridges from HP, they shut off my printer. This is horrible support and I refuse to be held hostage. I will be replacing this new printer as soon as my time expires with my current printer cartridges. I refuse to do business with a company who can shut off my printer whenever they want anytime I don't comply to their wishes. Goodbye HP. We had a lot of good years, but you have crossed the line.
Movers lost my power cable for my hp ENVY6455e had to end up buying a new printer.
Hp wouldn't sell me a power cable; spent 3 hours on the phone.
Hp sucks
Bought printer believing I could buy my own ink. WRONG! Unless you stay signed up for their service plan, the printer will have to be reinstalled EVERYTIME you change it. And now it will not even work. Service kept telling me 'if you sign up you won't have this problem." After 10 minutes of run arounds and previously 1 hour, I am done and WILL NEVER BUY OR USE AN HP product again! HP, you will no longer hold this customer hostage! I am buying an Epson today!
Printer stinks, so does customer service. A huge shakedown
I would never buy one...my Borther works well.
HP is a VERY BAD company --- Word to the wise >>>>> do not buy!
They will lock your printer out! If you don't buy their MAIL ORDER INK***
If you buy HP (it is made by/for HP>> noy an off brand)printer ink replacement cartridge that does not come from the "HP INSTANT INK">>> They will LOCK "YOUR" printer out of service!
What the hell? The money is going in their pockets_____ what more can we do to?
$$$$must be VERY HIGH PROFIT on the "instant ink trick"!
Answer: Impossible by phone since at least December 2023. ( May be before)
Answer: I'm old and remember the HP of 20 years ago. Boy has time changed this company.
Answer: Lenovo is similar to HP, though the performance of Lenovo's computers is complete crap, the upside to it is that they at least have good service.
