HP's reputation is increasingly marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and product reliability issues. While some customers praise the quality and reliability of HP products, particularly laptops and printers, many express frustration over unresponsive support, complicated return processes, and inadequate troubleshooting assistance. Common complaints include lengthy wait times, ineffective repairs, and a perceived lack of care for long-term customers. This growing discontent suggests a need for HP to enhance its customer service approach and address product support challenges to retain customer loyalty and improve overall satisfaction.

I have never been a HP fan but did own a HP printer that eventually by itself shredded the power ribbon attached to carriage, and the breaking point was when the piece of junk locked up if HP ink was not installed and with no regret went to the trash at the curb. And, two years ago received a HP laptop as a gift, no choice there. Even before receiving that gift, I knew I just got a piece of junk and not to expect much. It is a gift and regardless of my own decision and knowing that I would never buy any HP products based on poor reviews floating around as far as 2009.
Given that, I expected an inferior product and never loaded the laptop with anything of great importance or without having a duplicate as a backup.
Since I received that junk, I have replaced the battery 3 times in 2 years. The original battery failed to charge within 3 months. Charger, plugs and cables check OK. Next battery, stopped charging within 6 months, a clear indication of internal issue(s) but, I got another battery to prove a point to myself that HP products, all and everyone of them, lack QC, have cheap and mostly defective components, are slow and run hot, loud fans after a few months of use, and customer service is just a scam.
After the 3rd battery failure, it was clear the problem is with charging components within and not even worth exploring what may cause the issue as battery failing issues with various HP laptop models are common and posted for several years.
You have choices, do not bother with HP product even if you have the money to spent near $2000 on a high end HP. But at least expect an overly priced product, poorly designed with cheap components, unreliable QC, poor customer service abroad, and a company well known to give clients run around and replacing new but defective items with refurbished junk even while under warranty.
RIP HP, I still have a proof when you were honest and proud from 1991, a CV41 calculator, still going strong.
Took my hard earned money, sold me a faulty printer and won't replace it with a new one or refund.
They don't think UK Consumer Rights act applies to them. Worst customer service by far of any big company I've had interaction with.
Mark my words, I will NEVER own another HP product of any kind as long as I live. A company that shakes down the consumer by requiring only a print cartridge manufactured by HP to be used in a printer is not only illegal but down right disgusting and it exudes corporate greed. I own this printer, I paid the retail price for it when I purchased it; I should have the right to put any print cartridge in it that I choose. I have a family to feed, just like the thousands of HP employees that are also surely getting screwed by this. I hope the small margin they make from unsuspecting consumers that are duped into this makes up for the $0 margin they will get from me in the balance of my lifetime. If there had been a zero stars rating or a negative rating, I'd have selected one.
Do I need to say more, all their products are cheap garbage that they label technology in order to steal peoples money. Everything about them sucks. Don't even buy a hp labeled pencil, it probably doesn't even write.
They make you wait a month when you buy a printer in Canada. For the ink to arrive from the U.S.A. They make you contact them in every way possible - online, chat, phone, then they want to video conference with you, and see into your home, take photographs of your printer, manipulate you into typing crap codes into your computer, troubleshoot for hours. Everything that can go wrong does go wrong. Then when you cancel your online plan (what the hell do people even need online plans for when they just need to print a few sheets of paper for university classes, essays, letters? Back in the 1990s the printers actually worked. Now we are producing products to help Indians (in India) ask us how the weather is here while they hold us hostage and refuse to let us study, work, or do business.
I can't beleive the waste, the plastic, and now the multiple cartridges that finally got here and that I can't use - because they can't solve some simple issues of connectivity with a Chromebook laptop.
It really hurts to live like this, to be lured by fakes that promise so much and are actually debilitated productwise. The number of criminals in the world that creep into our homes from the Internet is obscene and perverse.
First off I had to signup for automatic ink replacements at their time frame (I have eight) and not used one yet. I also had issues getting it installed and setup. HP neglected to tell you in the instructions that the original ink cartridge is necessary for setup. Also HP has no online help or number to call and they never return calls.
This has got to be the worse printer company ever. They force you into buying their printer cartridges. If you do not buy theirs, they hold you printer hostage so you cannot printer nothing at all. I purchased the printer for me to use not you to track everything that is printed. HP telling me when I need to replace my printer cartridge is none of your business and you should stay the hell of people's business. Feel free to contact me but I know how that will go, absolutely no worry. I will be letting that place wear I purchased this piece of crap what my experience was with this company and I can only hope that they will listen and remove all that they care.
Binish P printer it has been nothing but trouble ever since we spent hours and hours on the phone with tech people. I wish they would just take it back and give us our money back and won't print and now they told us because we have a cartridge from them and we didn't get a cartridge another cartridge from them that now it won't allow us to print anything either so every time we talk to them, they have a different excuse, don't buy anything from HP
I will never buy another HP product. I have two HP Printers that are maybe six-eight years old. They have been unused for five of those years, packed away in the original boxes until I could use them again. I did not expect it would take so long to move into a home where I had need of them. Now, when I tried to use them, I needed to update the drivers to reinstall them to my computer. HP NO LONGER SUPPORTS THEM! In other words, they are useless. Like new, but useless. I just went out and spent $250.oo for a NEW Epson printer.I can see no other reason that HP would not still support their older products except to get users to buy new gear. I will NOT buy another HP product!
Your customer support people are good. Your process for providing assistance is TERRIBLE. I have sownt COUNTLESS hours trying to fix this printer--with & without tech support, but the printer is flawed & I still haven't been able to resolve the issue. HP has made it next to IMPOSSIBLE to return this defective product & get a refund. I will NEVER purchase another HP product again. And I will provide this review to Google and social media.
Had to call five different numbers for technical support on obtaining a new driver. Was not able to ever talk to a live person. The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. The rating would be lower than one if I had that option
Multiple transfers with disconnects during transfer. Simple issue never resolved. Ultimately, after 2.5hrs of wasted time they sent me back to the department that started this vicious game of hot potato. Makes me never want to by HP again! Seriously the worst customer experience ever!
You can't use the ink you already pay for if you don't have an ink subscription
So the ink you have already purchased you can't use
I will never again buy a hp product. They intentionally mess the printer up when you unsubscribe to instant ink...and yes i changed the cartridges
Always slow wifi on the mother board is trash laggy cant do anything without the lag instead buy a dell one
HP is not just the affordable laptops for the school.
They also make desktops for professionals. Their Z desktops are one of the best in the industry for rendering or AI developments.
On June 24,2023, I paid HP $86.59 for my laptop's extended 1-year Care Pack warranty. This is the third year I have paid for a one-time yearly warranty to cover any technical issues with my laptop. On August 29,2023, I noticed that HP deducted. I noticed HP deducted another $86.59 from my account on July 5,2023, without my permission, so I called HP to see why they deducted $86.59 from my account when I paid a one-time fee in June for a one-year warranty. I immediately called and spoke with an HP representative who said I was on the HP Smart Friend Program. I didn't know anything about the HP Smart Friend Program, so someone signed me up to be in this program without my consent. I've never heard of the program, so I told them to cancel it and to refund my $86.59. The representative wanted to put the money back in my banking account; however, my bank suggested that I block HP so they won't deduct unauthorized payments from my account. The representative said they would mail me a paper check to refund the $86.59 payment. She said I should receive the check in 5-10 business days. I called HP back on September 11,2023, since I did not receive a refund check in the mail, and the representative, this time, stated he did not see any notes about a refund check on my behalf. This is beyond unprofessional and misleading to customers, so I'm highly disappointed in HP and their Customer Care Team. The representative stated that someone from the Customer Care Team would call me within 5-10 business days; however, I don't believe it, and I feel like they are giving me the runaround about an issue they caused. I did not consent to participate in the HP Smart Friend Program, so I should receive a refund immediately. I have been seeking my refund since August 29,2023.

Hp sells you stuff with fake warranty they can't fix it. It is a company with only a name. It creates a blue screen all of a sudden after you bought it and they won't even be willing to do something about it quickly. They then waste your time and effort instead of fixing the pc. It should be given a zero star rating.it has poor customer services who say they know everything but don't know nothing, they can't even fix there own problems.I used to like this company but now a days it is turning extremely bad and I am disgusted by the way how they treat there clients and how they offer services. Very disappointed!
I will NEVER buy an HP printer again! Such a rip off, you absolutely can NOT use any ink unless it's HP.it will reject the ink and not work. It would be ok if ink was priced reasonably but NO its more than double the cost of all the other compatible inks AND 1 set of new ink costs more than the printer not to mention monopolization of the product. Don't buy, run away from HP and buy a printer from a company with reasonably priced ink or that allows compatible inks!
I order HP 950XL (black) and 951 (3 pack color) ink from the HP Store. HP sent me "OUT-OF-DATE" ink cartridges! I requested a refund and sent back the ink. It took over a week to process and get verified the out-of-date cartridge was received in the warehouse. HP tried only refunding me for the 951 saying some bogus thing about they thought the refund was cancelled. I had to call customer service 2 times to correct the refund. It's an insult to have purchased ink from the factory and receive out-of-date ink and the box was clearly old and raggedy. I will never purchase an HP product ever!
Answer: Impossible by phone since at least December 2023. ( May be before)
Answer: I'm old and remember the HP of 20 years ago. Boy has time changed this company.
Answer: Lenovo is similar to HP, though the performance of Lenovo's computers is complete crap, the upside to it is that they at least have good service.
