HP's reputation is increasingly marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and product reliability issues. While some customers praise the quality and reliability of HP products, particularly laptops and printers, many express frustration over unresponsive support, complicated return processes, and inadequate troubleshooting assistance. Common complaints include lengthy wait times, ineffective repairs, and a perceived lack of care for long-term customers. This growing discontent suggests a need for HP to enhance its customer service approach and address product support challenges to retain customer loyalty and improve overall satisfaction.

Short and sweet - I ran into nothing but a bait and switch scam. Computers that would show up on the site that really were a good deal...turned out in the end to be "not eligible" for the program even when logged into the Frontline Heros storefront. The customer service rep just said... Oops sorry for the inconvenience.
I guarantee there wil not be and inconcience in the future. Back to Dell the first HP was crap anyway
I had a horrendous experience which started with their hp instant ink service. Even though our internet was fine, a package the printer sends out crashed the printer and then there was no way to restart our printing.
I chatted to bot at 19:48. The website was misleading, worded it as if you could chat to someone at any time and it happened to be out of hours. Instead of being told this at 19:52 the bot took my details stating "ok, let me check that I have everything needed to connect you to a live agent". The chat then went dead.
The next day I started the chat with the bot and the system crashed.
After an hour into an actually conversation with a helper, taking photos of the printer, following all given instructions the helper then disappeared for over quarter of an hour.
Almost two and a half hours after the start, I was eventually told that I would be called back as it was going nowhere. They asked for days to call me and then didn't call me on either of the days requested. Instead, I had told them not to call them on specific days as I would be in work and they called then. The third time they called I answered the phone and they just hung up, contacting me by email to tell me they had tried to contact me three times and the complaint was over.
When I called I was told I couldn't complain, and I would have to complain about the way in which the complaint was dealt with! This conversation was 45 minutes and they hung up when I summarised what had to be carried out.
Since then they have refused to way in which they carrie out the procedure. The printer was pretty rubbish too, particularly if you use hp ink service.
HP Office Jet 3830
1- Size to do envelopes to short. It will not print on envelope system
2-Scan works 30% of time
3-I need to turn off my computer for it to print
Getting help from HP is a futile effort
I am a retired money manager and a futurist (my website is *******@bobchernow.com), whose website is designed to "how to think like a futurist". I cannot locate the receipt, but we are speaking about a printer less than a year old
Purchased a new all-in-one desktop. The one page documentation that came with the computer is useless. Had I not worked in IT for 40 years and had I not built computers in the past, I would not have known how to set up this computer using those instructions. I signed into HP and navigated to the location for user guides and manuals, then downloaded the document for the model of computer I have. Even then, this user guide does not tell all the steps to perform (how to mount the computer on the stand for example). Using the chat feature to reach out to HP and it wasn't working. I did this on two different days - is chat even an option? I crafted a form from their website to send to support and spent close to ten minutes doing so. When I submitted it, a display popped up that said to use chat and that my e-form to them was not sent. Looking at their Facebook page and there is no option to reach out to HP. So, how does one contact them? Evidently one doesn't. The support should get a negative number if at all possible.
As to performance, a one rating is as high as I feel comfortable giving. A brand new computer and it's slow as molasses. To reboot the computer, it takes more than five minutes. Compare that to the PC I built and is three years old and rebooting that computer takes a minute or less. That's possibly because HP loads their computers with things in the BIOS that cannot be deleted. Does this slow the computer down? Maybe! As to general performance in computing - it again is slow compared to the PC I built. Running office applications or other programs from Microsoft (File Explorer for example) is like molasses. FOR A NEW COMPUTER! I should have just built another computer, but being nearly 70 years old - I didn't want to deal with it. I SHOULD HAVE!
Overall, this computer gets a solid 1 for rating due to support and performance. Maybe a Dell computer would have been a better choice.
Have a printer trouble connecting all they want is money. Dont care been hung up on and dealing with for 4 hours today. Because printer out of warranty want money
This is my experience with HP over the last month. I bought a $1500 laptop from them, received the laptop tried to turn it on, nothing. No power up noises nothing on the screen. Figured must be an accident, maybe someone dropped it during shipping or whatever, no big deal. Needed a new printer, also went to HP and purchased one from them, printer came in, set it up and it was giving me an error found out that one of the sensors on the paper tray was broken. Returned it and asked for a replacement, replacement came in, one of the ink cartridges was broken and hp requires you to set up the printer with the cartridges that come with the printer. Completely fed up with HP at this point. Returned that printer as well and just got the refund. Honestly I have no idea how they are still in business at this point. Trash products. Trash company
Laptop stopped responding with WiFi connection. Needless to say, the attitude HP customer service stated if I pay 59.99 they'll fix it. Never fixed it. Took it to Best Buy, never fixed. Called and told them wanted smart friend cancelled and now have continued to charge me 16.99 never offered any resolution. Never offered any kind of discount for the aggravation alone. Do not call them if any issues with tech support. I am now convinced they are run by scammers.
@sujit *******@jagdish at the Hp store deserve a thumbs down they mislead the customer by offering interest free EMI scheme hence confusing the customer to buy HP laptops which is far from the truth. On receiving credit card emails customer is charged interest on the EMI, these two should be sacked and HP showroom in fort needs to refund my *******@*******@checkmatecomputers in fort, Dr D.N road, Mumbai India.Interest at the rate of 14% is charged by the credit card company opposite to what was promised by these two sales staff that this is an interest free EMI facilty provided by HP. Interest is clearly visible in the receipt and mail received from the amex credit card department.
Im sorry about the long rant. HP doesn't care about their customers! I purchased an HP Envy x360 15" on 08/03/2022. On 08/01/2023, my laptop wouldn't boot up when pressed the power button. I went on the HP website on 08/01/2023 for help. I entered my serial number, and the website kept directing me to purchase a service plan. I couldn't find a phone number, nor was I able to do a live chat. The website isn't user-friendly. It took me more than a week to get to a human. I finally did so by posting a message on FB. The Social Media Manager gave me a link and a phone number. The phone number worked. However, because it took me so long to get to someone, I'm now being told that my laptop is out of warranty. I escalated the issue twice. After all of this frustration, I was offered a $25 coupon towards the purchase of another HP product. That's an insult! My Lenovo and my Dell lasted for years and still work. I will never purchase another HP product nor recommend anyone else buy one. The treatment you get rewarded with is subpar at best! Never ever making another HP product purchase!
And here goes another company outsourcing it's "customer service" to an Indian based callcentre and in doing so completely obliterating customer service.
Tip number one: employ people who can speak and understand English.
There is no tip number 2, you failed completely at tip number one.
My only hope is that AI can take over as customer service for these companies or they fold and cease to exist, having people in these roles that are unable to help in any way due to language barriers because these corporations are so concerned over their bottom line and in turn their bonuses has ruined corporate America. Fingers crossed it ruins their companies too.
I'll never buy another HP again. Switching to Lenovo or Dell now. After being a loyal HP customer for 20 years, they won't take back the LEMON they sold me that doesn't work in the first two months I bought it, and instead keep insisting I work with their customer service dept repeatedly. THE COMPUTER DOESN'T WORK. TAKE IT BACK AND SEND ME A NEW ONE. I'm not stupid. I've owned multiple HP computers and not a single one I've had before has a keyboard that randomly locks up constantly while you're using it. SO frustrating!
Worst service ever
They will stop your subscription for ink for $4.32 which is crazy because my bill was not due till August but they want me to pay in July when the bill is not due which is bad business for all consumers. Do not subscribe to an ink subscription from this company or you will be sorry. From now on I'll just go to Staples and buy my own ink
BAD BUSINESS HP PRINTER
I recently moved house and brought my HP printer with me. It is impossible to set up to my new isp via wifi or ethernet cable. I can't speak to anyone on the matter because my warranty expired two days ago. When I look up the error code, there's plenty of threads on the subject, but I'm not able to view any of them because "Poly boards are coming soon!" and I can't view any discussion. Please, do not spend your money with HP, I'm stuck with a $300 piece of plastic that does nothing.
I would like to start out by saying I bought a brand new computer on July 11th, received computer and used it 4 times. I went to use and log in on July 23rd and several of the number keys would not work. I was on phone with technical support for over 2.5 hours on video running diagnostics. They deemed it was broke and needed replacement. I them called July 24th to receive a return label. Had to call 3 times and was on phone for over an hour each time trying to explain what I needed. The laptop was bought for my business and they said they needed to validate the issue once received before they could ship the replacement. Remember the laptop is BRAND NEW AND LESS THAN 2 WEEKS OLD AND USED ONLY 4 TIMES. The issue was poor manufacturing on their part. You would think a business this well known would assist small business owners and ship out possibly overnight a replacement to replace the less than 2 week old laptop that malfunctioned due to their poor manufacturing. Once I receive my replacement I will not be doing any business with HP for my business moving ng forward. The way they handled my claim was unacceptable. Everyone I spoke to was working from home due to hearing babies cry and dogs barking so they constantly were having to put me on hold so they could call or email someone else and then came back with no additional info only what they had already told me. VERY MUCH UNACCEPTABLE! Terrible, terrible service and company.
We had an issue with their printer and the customer service tech lied to my mother until I spoke up as a cyber security student and said they were lying and showed my mother evidence they they were lying to her! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!
I purchased 2 printers. I spent hours and hours of trouble shooting time with tech support but unsuccessful. Unable to get printer to print. I purchased warranty for printer but it was useless. Never able to get printer to print. I purchased a HP laptop and it crumped after 1 year. I will never purchase another HP product.
I spent a thousand dollars on a desk top computer and printer. The printer never printed without issues. When I had to print I would always spend 2 hours or more on the phone with a tech. Sometimes it still didn't work after 3 hours. I threw it in the trash after 2 years and feel liberated. I would NEVER recommend an HP Product to anyone. I can't replace the time and money I wasted.
I had a defective printer. I called HP and I ended up with a nice plan to buy a new one. They don't inform you that you have to enroll, so that's the trick. Now yesterday was my last day to enroll and I forgot to call last night, I was still trying to figure out what would work better than this one. Now, even tough I don't like the new printer I have to keep it in order to avoid to pay $270… What? No thank you, never again HP. I forgot to check the reviews before I called them. Terrible mistake.
I purchased a 9025e printer that cannot be used because of this and customer support doesn't know how to resolve it either
This is frustrating, I have wasted a day trying everything,
I have found these complaints on various internet pages going back to 2020, I truly believe that HP is going to loose a lot of customers because of this issue, I'm one of them
When I buy a car it's mine to use, I simply put gas in it maintain it and I don't have to inform the dealer. Maybe HP should stop up selling and let the customers enjoy the products that they ( the customer) purchased with their own money
These printers and people are all Chinese. I started receiving multiple telemarketing calls emails and scam emails after using them and calling Thier customer support line I know it's them because my real information anywhere else. I had to give them my real information because the printer was so problematic and they want to send emails and will get your information out especially when you have to sit on the phone with them everyday.stay away unless you like spam!
Answer: Impossible by phone since at least December 2023. ( May be before)
Answer: I'm old and remember the HP of 20 years ago. Boy has time changed this company.
Answer: Lenovo is similar to HP, though the performance of Lenovo's computers is complete crap, the upside to it is that they at least have good service.
