Poor customer service
April 13, 2022

Today 4/13 I drove an hour one way to shop at the Peachtree City store. I needed clothing for two graduations and Mothers Day, two associates were standing at the register having a discussion about religion and the price of airline tickets, not once did they acknowledge me being in the store, not once was I offered help. This used to be a favorite store, but I will never spend a penny there. I went to other stores and bought my clothing, everyone at Talbots was very helpful.

Terrible Customer Service
February 21, 2022

Last spring, I ordered some tops and I kept all of them but one, it was way too big. So, I filled out the return form and I asked for an exchange for another top and I put the item number on the form for the exchange and I mailed it back to J Jill. Well, they never sent the exchange that I had requested and when I contacted them, they said that they had no record of ever receiving the package. She said to wait a couple more weeks and see if it would come into their warehouse. I waited a couple of weeks then contacted them again and they told me they still hadn't received it. I am disgusted with their terrible customer service.

J. Jill continues to tout that their clothes are made for Everybody, however they are NOT. The clothes have ridiculous sizing. For example, a petite size extra small top usually has a bust measurement of 40-45! Who ever Heard of that. The tops are so huge with cheapest material they can squeak by with, mostly A-line in shape and they add side slits to boot! Just because people are getting larger, a small should still be a SMALL. If you have a 34" bust, a sweater or shirt should be 36-37" WITH SHAPING AND DARTS FOR A NICE LINE. No, their small is sometimes 46" in the bust! A Normal sized person who has worked out and eaten right all their life has NO chance of finding even a T-shirt to fit. They are HUGE! I can fit 2-3 of me in it and I am not too thin, I am Normal sized. It is Very frustrating. The fabric is cheap mix of all kinds of materials to make it the cheapest for them. It fades, shrinks, and/or stretches out. There is NO facing around necks or arm holes or at the bottom of their tops. The pants Pull on so they don't have to use a real zipper (which costs more), yet they charge way too much for their clothes. I used to love J. Jill, but for the last 6 years or so, the tops keep getting larger for the same size. I wear a small tall. The sleeves are ALWAYS too short and the people who wear regular smalls buy up all the tall long sleeved tops for the extra length of the sleeves so they sell out of small talls quickly because others who are NOT tall, buy them for the sleeve length! It is ridiculous. Pants are now ankle length and come above the ankle so that in the winter your booties don't even come up to the bottom of the pants and there is a gap. The pants and jeans should be Normal length for at least winter time to be warm. There are NO MORE 34" length pants... They are so cheap they even try to save on material at the bottom of the pants, and instead keep adding it to the voluminous tops as they get bigger and bigger. I closed my account and feel cheated and lied to about how they cater to Everybody because they don't. Beautiful colors of spring and summer draw you in and then you get cheated. I just don't get it!

I have shopped at J Jill for years, the quality was always top shelf, now it has taken quite a nosedive! My last and final purchase from J Jill was a pair of their Leggins… Which I always loved, they are completely see-through! Just touching the fabric you can tell it's cheap. Such a Shane, I am 70 years old and always enjoyed my clothing from J. Jill… The love affair is over!

I've been a customer for over 10 years, and was told today by customer service their late fees have a range but couldn't tell me what the range was. I don't know when they started this policy, and not to be able to get a straight answer was maddening. It's unethical to not tell people what their fees are especially when they're trying to pay. I will never order from them again.

I thought I'd try out the down vests instead of going with the a well known other brand and I learned my lesson, never buy a down vest from a brand other than the well-known ones. The vest is priced very high for horrible quality. The zipper failed in less than a year and barely using it. I'm surprised how horrible the quality is considering the fact that their clothes are so pricey. They need to consider upgrading the quality of their clothes or lowering the prices tremendously. What a joke of a brand. On top of that, their customer service is horrible and they don't back up their faulty product. Horrible experience! Never again will I buy anything from them. It's not worth the price. Very unsatisfied.

No free shipping.
December 16, 2021

You get free shipping if you order $125. Or more, or if you visit the site, put something in you basket then don't buy it. They will send you an email that says if you spend $100. You will get free shipping, well, only if you don't have to use another promo code for the item you are buying. I wanted a coat that was $119., I had to enter a promo code to get 30% off. They wanted to charge me $8.95 for shipping. I chatted with customer service and she would not honor the free shipping either. Kind of sounds like bait and switch to me and I will think long and hard before ordering anything from them in the future.

Staff is amazing
December 15, 2021

Every time I walk in to a JJill store, all the ladies working there are so very helpful and happy. They will get you different sizes or colors. I went in the Syracuse NY store and Patty V and Laura were amazing. They are jovial with each other and with the customers. You are happy going in there. They are fantastic. Can't wait to come back.

Gift card rip off
November 8, 2021

Great clothes. They don't allow use of a gift card to be used like cash. Gift cards can't be used on promotions. Was forced to pay full price to use my gift card. Never again.

I went to J. Jill at green oak to return a pair of pants that were damaged and the manager got very frustrated with me. She was blaming me for the pants being damaged and said that I had done that to the pants. She made it seem like she was doing me a favor by exchanging the pants and that it was a major inconvenience. She got visibly upset with me when asking me if I had a receipt as well. For a store that markets itself as a boutique, they should not be treating people like that and I will not be going back

Are used to buy leggings from J Jill and they would last several years. They were cotton spandex and heavy duty and lasted a really long time. The last time I bought leggings they were so thin you can see through them and they were out in about eight months. So I won't buy these again. I'm so disappointed

For years, I have loved J. Jill's clothes. They had beautiful colors, lively linens and great quality. What has happened to J. Jill recent that they only have drab and uncomplimentary colors. I am not sure who could wear these cloths and look great. The stores are displaying these horrible colors and the stores looks depressing. There was so few "summer colors" in this year's collections I have only purchased a white tee shirt. Please go back to the days of lovely and bright linen colors and well made T-shirts.

Summer 2021 designs are positively ghastly! Hideous, dowdy, old-fashioned-looking prints! Drab, dull color palete, more appropriate for fall or winter than summer! Designs that are extremely matronly (tunics too long, pull-on pants for gardening or working on the farm--NOT the least bit chic, the entire line lacking in any style or pizazz whatsoever! If J Jill is to survive, they had best hire some new designers to create a collection of smart-looking traditional, basic, tailored styles that have some oomph, a look the brand was once known for!

Do not use their charge card service! They use Comenity Bank to service their charge accounts and they will fee you to death. Terribly hard to work with. I finally had to personally go to the store and let their manager deal with them and close my account. Beware!

Yesterday at Friday, May 28,8:30 pm I placed an order. At 9:39 pm, May 28, I received an order confirmation and was advised I would receive an shipping. Confirmation "soon". Have not received one yet.

I called today May 29 at 6:30 pm to cancel the order (less than 24 hours since I placed the original order).
Apparently it is impossible to stop shipment since it has left New Hampshire. Where it will go from there I have no idea.
Only know deliver date is June 8th. Customer service mgr said "Oh, sometimes they ship earlier…"
-This is very deceptive. I only wish I had read reviews before ordering. My mistake!
-Only 2.5 stars out of 5.
-Out of 74 reviews 22% were poor and a whopping 49% were just flat out bad. NEVER AGAIN.

This pant which is 63% cotton, 33% rayon and 4% spandex stretches out while I am wearing it and becomes very baggy. Looks awful Why would you make a pant that stretches out like that?
The quality of fabric used for this pant must be poor. Rip off!
After reading other reviews of JJill, I am done buying from this company.
