MapQuest has been my go to map app for over a decade. Once a route was mapped, I used to be able to zoom in around the destination to view the exit I would get off on and/or use the layers to find restaurants around the destination. About 6 months ago, the ability to zoom in on the destination went away. As soon as you start zooming or drag away from your starting point, it revolts and snaps you back to the starting point. I have been in touch with their Tech Support numerous times, sent them screen recordings of what is happening and each time they come back with "it's supposed to snap back to the starting point"…if I hadn't been using it for 10+ years and didn't realize how useless it is to me now, I wouldn't be complaining. I've tried Google maps and I just don't see the same features.

I used MapQuest to route two destinations on a round-trip drive. It told me the fastest route was taking over nine miles of side streets, instead of the freeway. I checked the same destination order on Waze and it was SO much faster and more logical.
If you want to know the order of multiple destinations, MapQuest can tell you where to stop first, second, etc. But, DO NOT follow the route it gives you. Use Waze, instead, by adding your second stop first, then enter your first stop, hit go, and choose "add a stop". That way Waze will make your "add a stop" location as your first stop and the other address as your second stop. Plus, you'll complete your drive a whole lot faster.

Mapquest has the address listed for my business while all the other search engines show the correct address. On Mapquest website, I attempted to claim my business to change the address myself but it took me out of their website to an advertising website that lean me nowhere fast.

So I went back to MapQuest and looked up the contact us page and again Ii attempted to contact them for help. No matter what I enter in the form it says that my request is flagged as suspicious spam and it won't send it.

There is no Chat, no phone number, no ability to send a message. How do they run their business.

Won't Give Me Directions
December 30, 2021

I have used MapQuest 3 times in the past week for driving directions and it has worked fine. This time it would not let me enter to and from to get directions. Instead it says something about the inportance of MapQuest having my location and has an area to find out more. Clicked on that area and there was no place to enter my location, just more options. Tried one and it didn't work. I do not know how to get the directions I need, or how to enter my actual location. This has been a waste of time. There is no customer Service option that I can find for MapQuest.

Where is the map?
November 2, 2021

Honestly, what is Mapquest? It does not work on iOS very well, so it might just be me. But, put in address and there is a bottom part of the map showing, confused with junk adds (that are not collapsable at all). Useless. Forget about directions - no place to even try. This is just one big advertisement for nothing that even makes sense. Awful awful awful!

Another review for sitejabber - after I send this review, I will block you as you require me to sign up for even more advertising and, even though denied, the expectation is you will use or sell my info.

Map Quest Sucks
September 25, 2021

You can't navigate the site and study a map when covered by adds. What kind of moron designs a site where content is covered. I will look for a better map site since Map Quest is more concerned with selling add space than having a Map site.

Mapquest used to be good. You could put in an address and it would show you the place and the surrounding area and you could find what you want.
Now It shows you the state or country and you have to navigate to where you want.
Also, the sidebars are no longer useful.
Has anyone a GOOD map to recommend?

I am horrified! What a mistake I made with downloading the Mapquest app on my Windows 7 PC. Now everything is INFECTED.
Even when I logged into sitejabber my screen was filled with a pop up (photo2) When I tried to set up shipping zones for my shopify store a total screen popup appeared.(photo 1) This app invades everything!
Yesterday the upper right pop up gave me an "opt out" option but when I tried it wouldn't let me opt out. Today that doesn't even show. I tried looking under programs to uninstall but it doesn't show up there. It is stealthy. This is a nightmare! I'm so mad at myself that I mindlessly downloaded it.

For the last hour, I have been trying to get driving directions. No avail. Too many damn ads. If you want to find out how to get somewhere, don't use Mapquest.

Johnny's Plumbing
June 18, 2021

We've been living in the Crystal Springs community for over 15 years & have used a number of plumbing companies in that time. I have to express my satisfaction with Johnny's Plumbing. He came about a week ago to replace my water tank. Great job! Took his time & upgraded my tank. I paid less than another company who gave me 2 faulty units & were rude to me. (Mr. Rooter). John came again yesterday to replace my garbage disposal. I got a better unit & he charged me $110 LESS than the last company that came. He is honest, fair priced & takes his time to get it right. No complaints here. I wholeheartedly endorse & recommend Johnny's Plumbing. Nice, personable guy too.

I use mapquest daily to look up distance for jobs when scheduling service techs at my work. I can get the pop up ads to stop and it takes ten minutes just to get it to load my directions. I got very inpatient finally today and decided there has to be a better way. I went to google and searched driving directions. To and from popped right up and within seconds I was able to search what I needed. SOOOOO much better then map quest. You wont be around much longer if you cant stop your ads from slowing your site down. I will NOT be using this anymore.

Broken axle byways
October 17, 2020

I asked Mapquest for directions from my home to Poe Paddy State Park, near State College Pa. The route provided sent me over a mountain on a rock strewn trail, not a road, with my RV in tow. It took me three hours to cover ten miles of trail. I could not turn around with the RV in tow and damaged parts of the RV undercarriage. Mapquest is a very dangerous piece of software.

Directions to a restaurant on Lindero Canyon Rd in Westlake Village Ca from Camarillo Outlets. Google Maps says exit 39 off freeway at Lindero Canyon Rd and follow road to destination, MapQuest says get off at Hampshire Rd, exit 41 and turn right onto 3 different roads. Lol Lol Lol. If you want a headache driving and longer travel route use MapQuest.
