While a paying guest at the Cotton Gin Village one of my Gold/Saphirre Earrings went missing. The owner did nothing regarding it for over a week. I had to do all the calling. I finally had to file a police report with the Fredericksburg Police Department, Case # *******5366. Soon there after the owner emailed me to advised the earring had been located and I could come to pick it up or they would mail it. NEVER DID HE APOLOGIZE. I live 2.5 hours away so it would be necessary for me to take out from my schedule and never did he offer transportation or meal reimbursement.
I used to rely on mapquest a lot for planning travel. But now, the ad pop-ups are so distracting and annoying I'm likely going to delete it. It's also far less user friendly than it used to be. Very disappointing. Sold out to advertisers.
I literarily had bing maps up and printed before all the stupid ads were finished loading. Do not try to click on the map to move it, nope it will change you destination to that location. WTF!
Place was nice General Manager Zach was talking how horrible his direct boss was and low grade they make him run this hotel. Get new employees
MapQuest used to be my go to for multiple directions when I was showing properties. Now you spend HOURS trying to get the info you need and the site just sits and spins. That's IF you even get that far. Way too much going on with the ads and popups. I don't see MapQuest lasting much longer. I'm gone.
Mapquest used to be a great program it is not useable any more. This is very dissapointing I fail to see how it will be around much longer as it will stop generating the hits/ad dollars.
Whoever set it up this way is very short sighted to bad had a phenominal user base from which to generate revenue if done properly.
One of the worst online experiences. I'm guessing mapquest is desperate for an income, but someone has to tell the head of design they've gone way over the limit to allow visitors to the site to get to information they need. Fighting ad after ad, just gets me to X out and go elsewhere. It definitely doesn't invite me to struggle for information. Before I can book a hotel or whatever I may need, I have to understand my route, where I want to stop, what's around the hotel, etc. They have their name right it is a quest for a map with mapquest!
I clicked on twelve ads to remove them so that I could actually use the map, but they just keep coming back. I can't use the information because I can't see it! I keep clicking on "ad covers print" but it doesn't change anything, four ads take it's place!
What a piece of junk. I thought Google was bad with its "dining" menu on the side when trying to find places. Mapquest with all the pop up crap, advertising etc. It is amazing that you can even see any map information.
MapQuest used to be easy to use. It loaded quickly, and you could stick in one address to see where something was, or two addresses to see how to get from one place to another.
Now, you have to wait for what seems like an interminable period for the popups to stop loading before you can input one address, or if you need directions, to click the "directions" arrow (thereby triggering a whole NEW screen - and a new set of popups - to download) to be able to input two addresses.
More time, less clarity, way buggier, harder to use. This is progress?
Oh for the old mapquest! Now you get stops without requesting them, but eliminating them changes the route you just dragged back to where you don't want it. It's very touchy and wretched. I will not use again sadly. Why do new owners screw up a great thing!
This used to be my go to site for directions. The site is junked up with ads you can't even see what you're doing. Such a waste of time and it's a shame because it has lost it's usefulness. Have transitioned to Rand McNally.
I want to go to Florida from Pennsylvania down I79. Mapquest directions had me getting off onto I485 in Virginia and then merging again onto I77. When you get on 485, it doesn't go anywhere near 77 again. I would have been totally lost and added many extra miles, hours and stress to my 16+ hour drive. Pity you can't give a negative star or 2.
This website is completely useless unless you are interested in a multitude of ads. The interactive piece to change your route does not work. I am better off unfolding a local area map and finding the route myself. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.
AWFUL... changed website from an address map search into an advertisement nightmare. Fails every time, by refusing to remain on one screen. Nightmare. Basic map information unavailable.
The directions for our business were hacked to a location that was near but not our address. Then we were offered "help" for a fee to fix. Repeated attempts to correct with no response.
It dies not provide driving directions I didn't ask about hotels, driving to a destination. There's no reason to note one hundred characters, I specified my complaint.
If there is a for worst than worst please let me know so I can add to this review. This site is worst than MSN.com. All they wanted is for their adds to pop out during your search. Go somewhere else like google maps next time. Better yet invest in a cheap GPS. Will be worth it.
This site used to be great. Worse than horrible. You would rather me go to your advertisers than get my directions. Then I must give you 1 star to get out of here. Sorry this deserves a -50 at least.
Answer: I agree with all the negative comments. It was not broken and the best fire the guys you paid to come up with this new format and get back to what you had if you want a webpage at all and followers
Answer: Where is classic mapquest? Where this used to be great. Now you can't even get the right directions like to the next stoplight. Mapquest used to give right directions. Now they would you 1. Get lost so you want more directions. 2. Stop at an advertiser to give them business Not good. I've got to get an expensive directional diverse to get good directions. I sj be able to get your site and get good directions can't do that.
