I have been using metrofax for several months and all of a sudden I was charged $140 for faxes that I cannot even confirm were all valid and now it is IMPOSSIBLE to get someone who is competent and willing to help on the phone. I am so upset right now, I am a small business and incurring these costs right now is not only detrimental to my business but its affecting my personal finances. I am so disappointed in this company, I just want my money back and I will NEVER recommend them to anyone in the future!

This business deducted a 30.00 balance from my credit card Fraudulently, because it was not authorized, although the representative said they would refund all of the deducted money they did not. I will not let go of this FRAUDULENT company, until they pay me back. E Consumer has my complaint, now the bbb does and Thursday I am going to file charges at the courts!

Do Not Recommend!
April 22, 2020

So disappointed in this service. I had our fax number ported over and received a confirmation e-mail that it was successful. I canceled the line with our current supplier after the number was ported. Now the line is disconnected and MetroFax customer service has escalated my case to a "higher technical team" which was done 6 days ago with still no resolution. Customer service said there is no estimated resolution time and I am still paying for a service that never worked. Would not recommend MetroFax based on their customer service and lack to get a critical issue resolved.

I was a customer of Metrofax, and I had an extrmely bad time in cancelling my account. You are not able to cancel online. Cancellation requires online chat or phone call. I tried using the online chat. At first I was in queue for about 20 minutes. My computer crashed so I needed to do it again. The second time I was in queue their cloud connection was lost several times. Then I was diconnected by the agent. Finally I needed to call and my account was cancelled.
METROFAX MAKES IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULZT FOR ZTHE USER TO CANCEL.

MetroFax lacks even the most simple features one would expect of a fax service. When the recipient fax line is busy there are no redial attempts. Faxes cannot be resent either, meaning one may have to recreate a fax to a busy line several times over before being successful. When sending a fax to an organization that takes their fax line offline at night or on weekends, one cannot schedule a fax either. All of these are some of the simplest capabilities that even old fax machines have. With MetroFax it is back to the stone age. Contacting tech support by phone or chat is useless. They are rude, obnoxious, and very likely don't have an answer that someone cannot figure out themselves. It is better to spend some extra money on a better service.

Hello Ruediger M.,

This is not the impression we wish for you to have. Our system will make 5 attempts to connect to a line that is ringing busy prior to sending an unsuccessful fax delivery notification to the primary sending email on file. IF a fax has failed for any other reason 3 billable attempts will be made prior to the unsuccessful fax report being sent out. If connection can be made with the receiving fax line and it fails after the 3rd attempt you do have the ability to resent the fax form the website, email and mobile App. It is only if no connection can be made then there is no record to resend the fax. However if you send the fax form email you can resend al failed faxes from there. We provide 24/7 phone support at 1-888-321-3121 ext. 2 or live chat which is available on the MetroFax website. You may also email support directly through the mobile App for iOS and Android users. Please email our Social Team at socialsupport@metrofax.com if you would like us to look into this matter for you and address these concerns.

Many Thanks,
MetroFax Support Team

Update to my review
February 27, 2020
Updated review

After posting my issue with Metrofax, a customer service representative, Fiona, reached out to me trying to resolve my issues. I would like to say, all is well, and I have been taken care of and look forward to many more years with Metrofax. As I stated in my original review, the actual service works great!

Buyer BEWARE

Previous review

First off, actual service is fine... I was able to send and receive faxes just fine. When I set up my account, they gave me $4/mo plan since I rarely use faxes. I prepaid the account since I didnt want to deal with a monthly bill of such a small amount. No one advised me that any prepaid amount is non refundable. Fast forward a year, they sent me an email that my price is gonna double. They refuse to refund MY credit balance or honor the $4/mo price until my balance is used. I have no problem with a company wanting to charge more since I can choose to pay more or leave, however they never told me the $4/mo plan was only for the first year and never told me any credit balance is not refundable. They are owned by EFAX, just a cheaper alternative they can throw a customer to if they refuse to pay EFAX's high prices. I will stay with them until my credit balance is gone and then I am going to redfax.com

I've been with this company for many years and they have gone down hill. Apparently my card didn't go through one month and then they charged me a $5 late fee which is more than half of what the service cost. Requested a manager call back never received one. Overall not worth the money and the customer service is rude. It's clear they don't appreciate their faithfull business.

Do not use this service. I have only had problems sending and receiving faxes. So unreliable. Tech blames browser and wants me to use IE when I use Chrome. I was first in line in chat and it took the rep close to ten minutes to check my account after I gave him my info. It also took over 2 hours for a fax to go through.

***Edited to say, after pushing for next level support I was finally given a telephone number and reached a 2nd level customer service rep who adjusted my account as requested. I think that the 1st level of reps don't know how to handle questions that are not within the script, and there seems to be a language barrier with some as well. Probably best to ask for next level of support right off the bat. Raised by review by a start since they resolved my issue.

**Original review.
I do not recommend dealing with this company on any level. It required multiple chats and phone calls to obtain basic information related to my account. Even after this, I was given incorrect information by their customer service reps which resulted in inaccurate charges and Metrofax refused to make any adjustments to the account from the charges resulting from their own incompetent customer service. Please do not do business with this company.

Suddenly started receiving emails from them as if I was a member. Noticed a charge on my credit card/debit for MetroFax. I had NEVER heard of MetroFax in my life. I had to do an internet search to find out who they were. I ended up disputing the charge and canceling my credit card/debit.

Hello, It sounds as though an account may have been created online with using your card information without your consent and as a result the card has been compromised. We would be happy to investigate this with you as we take matters such as this very serious. Please message our team at socialsupport@metrofax.com so we may resolve this for you. Thank you,^FM

Rip Off!
October 16, 2019

I have never been able to get this service to work, I called, emailed and wrote them trying to cancel. I let this go on for over a YEAR! There is no help if you can't get it to work and there is absolutely no way to cancel. They have NO record of my multiple calls over the year. Absolutely absurd and good luck trying to understand them!

These people make it as difficult as possible to cancel your trial account. You can either call a number that doesn't respond to your input (such as press a button to talk to a rep) or you can chat online with one of their reps. As soon as you state that you are there to cancel your account, it takes the rep on average 3 minutes to respond to every one of your responses and then he tries to sell you more services. Only after you yell at them at caps lock to cancel your account do they do it. Such a waste of time.

I have been trying to cancel my account since April of 2019. They keep billing my credit card company. When I called customer service, the person on the line was confused and would not respond after I explained my problem. He just didn't answer when I asked if he heard me. I asked he to repeat what my complaint was, and he could not provide me an answer. Spoke broken English and would begin talking fast so you could not understand what he was saying. I will never use this service again.

Do Not use this company they are a ripoff in the worst of ways! How are people getting away with this kind of stuff still? You should be ashamed of yourselves like I told the customer service rep "have some integrity there is a better job out there" don't work for a place that is ripping people off and lying and cheating.

The one time I needed online help and I get Greg Curtis. Not very knowledgeable. Very slow to respond. Everything he had me do had to be reversed and tells me to call customer service. If I was not locked in to a contract I would look elsewhere.

I was billed for service from 5/28 through 6/27. I was also charged an "overdraft" amount of $10 in case I went over. I use it about 8 times a month. They did say they were refunding me the $10 as it was a billing error. When I asked if I could get a credit for a free month since this issued an overdraft on my buisness account (end of month, hard times) ;) They said no they could not. So I decided to cancel my service and I asked for a refund of the 7.95 they charged me for service 5/28 to 6/27 and they said no. I called an spoke with someone with a thick accent and could hardly understand him, he said nope. I asked to speak to someone else and he said no, there is nothing we can do. Stay away. Poor customer service.

DO NOT USE METROFAX
March 3, 2019

According to their website, the cost is $7 a month. The NEXT month, I was about billed $17.00. I had sent three faxes the entire month of my first month of paid use. They explained the cost increase was 'some form of forecasting payment due to sending three international faxes.' I canceled my service immediately. Guess what? The next month... after canceling? I received an email informing me that I was just billed for another month. DO NOT USE MetroFax.

DEFINITELY, STAY AWAY!
I had spoken to customer service total pages of incoming faxes were 1,642 and out coming were 402 pages. Free 1 month trial was given started Jan 16,2019. However if you continue after free trial, they charge $10.00 2 weeks before billing due date and additional $7.95 per 500 pages. Consecutively charges $10.00 continues for every 3 -5 days. Per customer service said $ 10.00 is minimum charge per credit card transaction. So False from Capital One Credit Card. I purchase $3.00 dollar coffee Transaction goes through. Total amount Metrofax charged me $ 67.95 a little over of 40 days of used including 30 days free trial. Which is not free. THEY ARE CHARGING AHEAD OF TIME AND CLAIMS ANY EXTRA CREDIT WILL BE CREDIT TOWARD THE NEXT, MONTHS SERVICE. This is TOTAL BOGUS WORLD WIDE FAX SERVICE BUSINESS.

I signed up for a Free Trial with Metrofax and requested to cancel it when the trial ends, after the trial ended Metrofax continuous to charge my credit card I realized it after 5 months, I called to request a refund, First I spoke to a supervisor name RYAN who told me he will going to investigate the problem and call me back in 2-3 days, I was waiting for his call for the next 3 weeks, HE NEVER CALLED BACK then I called again and talked to JAMES another supervisor who said they don't do refund, and told me that they don't call back but they send emails reply, I was chocked about another bad customer service because I never received an email from RYAN (Supervisor), Then JAMES said he will going to find out why RYAN didn't send me the email, it's all about scamming people
Their website said in order to have the free trial you need to enter your credit card, I trusted them with my credit card and they keeping charging my card after the free trial, they took advantage on me. DO NOT TRUST THEM with your credit card info.
