I have had all paperwork in since my first meeting and then the housing counselor did not follow up. Got in touch with supervisor and she has become unresponsive. DO NOT waste your time with NACA research another program in your area and save yourself the headache because they do not seem to want to work or be respond to phone calls or emails!
Patience, organization and responsibility is what I've learned through this process. At first I was so nervous and worried about the responsibility of becoming a first time homeowner. NACA's a great program with a wonderful system in place. I am so ready and excited and prepared to become a homeowner. My councelor, Shelena Hilliard has been very professional, positive and kind. Thank you so much NACA.

I actually started the process of becoming a homeowner years ago through NACA, but working and going to school to be a teacher and then starting out my career while being a single mom my direction quickly changed. I have had a lot of life experiences in the last couple years with family and my health (breast cancer) and bankruptcy that have seem to be road blocks to becoming a homeowner. Owning a home to me is one of the most important life experiences for me; right now I can see it in my future. There was a point when I had given up on this; I have always rented and felt like I was always on the verge of moving out because renting just does not fill the need of "for ever home". I remember having a repeated dream as a child of walking and not being able to find my house and I can still feel in my heart the fear I felt before I would wake up. There is nothing like the comfort of family and a home; I know what it is like to be homeless and not knowing how long you would be at that current place you are resting your head; so I recognize that fear is real. I have recently been working with Melinda and she has answered my questions and this is new for me so I have had plenty of questions; knowing that I can have this comfort to have those questions answered and knowing I have the resources from NACA to reach the goal of homeownership is such a blessing I can't truly express.
At the beginning of 2020 I have decided to become a homeowner however with little money there are other sources I had to research for help. I was turned onto NACA by a previous customer providing me with a slight guideline of what to do and expect. I took the workshop June 2020 there was plenty of information provided in regards to the program. So far I have been dealing with my counselor that has been helping me through the process especially with money management. I am looking forward to what the future holds for my family and I.
Tiffany Adams is an excellent counselor. She was patient and worked over-time to get me through the process in a timely manner.
I first heard about NACA in August of 2020, the moment i heard about the program I went on the website, after reading about the great program that it officers for first time home buyers signed up right away for the Home Buyers Workshop, I went on Facebook and learned that the workshop were being offered live on Saturday (the workshops are no longer on Facebook) and because I was so anxious to learn more about the company I attend the Live Workshop on Facebook, got my NACA ID, set up my file and immediately sign up for an intake session with a mortgage counselor.
10/21/2020 I had my first Intake Sessions with Ms. M. Thomas in the Rochester office, I logged on to the meeting somewhat nervous but the moment she introduce herself told me I was going to be good. She went over all my documents with me, she educated me on the entire program and process, she shared her screen with me, she ensured that i understood every topic she spoke about. I was given my action plan to work on for the next three months, which basically required of me to be able to show that I will be able to save a certain amount for my Monthly Recurring Fund and my Payment Shock over that period while still paying my bills on time.
I am so excited to be on the path to owing my first home and knowing that I have NACA to help me achieve it.
Excellent Counsuler. I started the process for perchusing a home. English is my second lanuage.
The counsuler was understanding me very well and was respectfull. The conversation was done over GoToMeeting due to COVID-19. Now everything completed and submitted for lender approval. Soon I will have a dream home. Right now NACA is very busy with a lot of applicants. One has to be patient for appiontment.
Even being First-time Home buyer, the NACA has made home-buying process possible at ease and very direct to the client focused which provides confidence and satisfactory service. My consular Antonio has been great help though the process taking care of the precess with great amount of effort and details. I could have not done it without his detail explanations. Excited and Proud to be part of NACA Family.
Working with NACA has been a long, sometimes frustrating process, but I am at the finish line and hope to cross it very soon. My new counselor has been very supportive and has provided me with the needed steps to complete the process.
Thanks NACA
NACA is a great home buying program if you're struggling with getting approved the tradition route. The budgeting was most important for me. The process is not as fast but so far it's well worth it. I highly recommend. Patience is the key.
I came to know NACA back in 2004. We started the process, but decided to go a different route to purchase our fist home. Fast forward 16 years later and here we are, Homebuyer Ready is our Status. We started in May with the American Dream Event, got our action plan and got to work. At our first appointment with our Counselor Sara Traylor, was a breath of fresh air. She was awesome. She was patient. Unfortunately, she is out for medical reasons and was initially informed that we would not be seen until Nov. We contacted the Regional Manager, And was immediately assigned a new Counselor, Johnnita. When I tell you she has been great. A few more documents and could be ready to start shopping. This is a great program. The work you put in with providing the requested documentation as quickly as you can, can move you along. Where else can you get below market interest rate, no down payment, no closing costs or fees. Yes, it takes some time, but it's all worth it! Thank you NACA!
If you want to own a home and learn about budgeting and getting a great affordable program --- NACA is it!
NACA was a huge help in getting my first home. Buying a home is always going to have its ups and downs, but NACA was there to help me through the process every step of the way. Everyone that I worked with was very knowledgeable and worked to get me and my home taken care of. This, coupled with the extremely low interest rate on my house, made me suggest NACA to anyone that is looking to buy a home.
If youre looking for a home, I would definitely suggest looking into NACA.
Naca offers awesome rates, but NACA itself is mostly a waste of time. Be prepared to do everything 8 times, and then at least once again. Be prepared to be stressed out over time lines only for NACA to not do their part. Basically, get the headache medicine ready, you will need a refill. I did get a home through NACA, I did not enjoy buying the home, and I honestly resent the home due to the stress caused buying it. I cant help but think, its worth just getting a regular loan. But like I said the rates are great. The process is a mind numbing waste. The harder you work to give them what they need, the slower they will respond. I am still working the HAND, and this was all a mistake. But at least I own my headache now.
Naca program is a great. Ms. April have be amazing. It been time I just wanted to give up but Ms. April was very nice and patience. With this program you have to have to be patience but you won't be disappointed at the end.
I am happy to be working with this program to obtain my own home. My counselor, Mr. Silva, has been amazing in keeping me abreast of everything needed, and I have enjoyed even speaking to Ivette, lol... Look into it if you are looking for a better way
I HEARD ABOUT NACA LAST YEAR AND WENT TO A WORKSHOP, THE INFORMATION WAS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, TODAY, MY DREAM IS ABOUT TO BE TRUE, THE AMERICAN DREAM. I AM ALMOST A HOMEOWNER... YEAH YEAH YEAH... NACA IS THE BEST THAT'S REAL
I'm going through the intake process and so far everything has been great. Almost done with providing all the requested documents and hopefully new home is right around the corner.
Buena opción para comprar casa bajo interés y te ayudan en el proceso paso a paso. Se lo recomiendo.
My husband and I am learning about this process. We are almost there. I can only speak about my experience so far. The main thing about this process I think is to have patience. Having patience and not being in a hurry to get through it will save you from getting frustrated to the point that you want to walk away. Yes, you might have days you want to do that. Staying on top of keeping all your documents together and uploading them is very important. Doing what your counselor asks you to do is also. Kenya H.is our counselor and is very accommodating and helpful. So if you have patience and not in a hurry I think you will be glad you did.

Answer: I decided to go with NACA because they don't consider your credit score and the counselors work with you to become qualified. NACA has made me more diligent with saving money by not spending on wants but needs. This method has strengthen my assets considerably. Also, because you have to volunteer your services as you see fit at least 5x a year which is great because you are giving back to the community. DEE in Far Rockaway
