My account was disabled. I have no idea why. I didn't post anything controversial, political, racist, or anything that would offend anyone. Good riddance! Only 2 actually neighbors are on it. A whole lot of advertising!
This app needs to be completely removed and banned. They not only allow individual harassment they allow theyre higher ups to do the same if not worse. These people are just a bunch of lonely cowards who hide behind a screen to feel some kind of validation. This app doesnt promote any sense of community in any way shape or form. People think they can overrun others and their opinions and posts. I'm sick of all the Karen's that have flocked to this app.
Despite making logical, polite postings regarding a proposed constitutional amendment to the Ohio constitution billed as an abortion amendment, all of my posts were hidden. It wasn't just the posts on the amendment thread, but also threads talking about local food (I had a good burger) and advice to elderly gentleman whose wife has essentially been kidnapped by a governmental agency. I have now deleted nextdoor. If you are a yes person. It's the site for you. If you like electronic panhandlers, it is the site for you. If you believe Ohio's amendment has far reaching consequences due to the non definition of "individual" as well no age given for said individual and the words, "including, but not limited to" preceding the word abortion, this site is not for you. This site is only for people who see a single tree in the forest…the one with neon lights on it. They can't see anything else. Don't waste your time with nextdoor.
Does it matter which country you're in you're getting kicked off
They don't like a different option from you
Even the Americans are complaining about it
administration who will start an argument with you I don't even last a day on it
Load of $#*!
I hired a sub to do some work for me he never paid me I reported to the app and they closed my account ridiculous this app is for Karens
I have watched Nextdoor repeatedly remove comments that were in no way offensive or inflammatory and yet refuse to remove the most vile…the ones that fit their agenda. Deleted the app once and for all. Nextdoor is worthless.
They close comments quite regularly of people that don't agree with them. I have been banned for three day because I posted a picture from our local newspaper. They said I was somewhere in the realm of discrimination, bulling, a racist etc. they removed the same post that I put on a private group that I belong to., Conservative Club of Tellico Village. I thought private groups did not get closed.
Don't sign up. They sent a sh*t load of spams everyday. You can't unsubscribe from a single click. You have to sign in, and disable every single type of to notifications and there are more than 30 types of notifications. Worst website ever in terms of spam emails.
Its a marketing scam! And yes you might be able to post a comment or two but its all about bulling your neighbors. Its HORRIBLE! If ALL about their ads!
Nextdoor is not a place to do any connecting, it is a horrible space and the "neighbors" are incredibly rude. I am not sure where anyone learned about community support, but it shows big time in this app.
Absolutely awful - I got called names for people disagreeing with a petition I shared for the ltns on my road - reported it.they stated it didn't break guidelines, meanwhile all my shared articles relating to politics, local councillors etc are being hidden as they break guidelines.
Absolutely shameful practice.
One sided, biased crap. Unfortunately myself and several neighbours have all had the same issues and have left it. I think it should be reported for supporting bullying and shaming of people whose opinions differ.I'm a full grown adult - I understand people have a difference of opinion. But as an adult I choose to ignore the post. Not comment on them constantly shaming the person. How this is being allowed I'll never know but I'm determined to share the word and try to ensure people steer clear of this app! Shamed for being working class, driving, called a liar amongst other names I won't mention. All allowed. Me posting an article relating to Lambeth councils residents survey results etc is deemed inappropriate. Awful experience. Awful moderators. Awful people. Not all but most! Please steer clear!
Next Door is a left wing biased group. They violate your 1st Amendment, kick you out of groups and/or ban you when the Neighbors from the left report you because their feelings get hurt. However, the left can do what they report you for doing, and remain in the group, while you get kicked out. The Administrators and Moderators are biased, and discriminatory; only when they don't support your views. I have hired a lawyer who is building a class action lawsuit for violating the 1st Amendment rights under the Constitution. Anyone experiencing the same is encouraged to post reviews of your experiences.
When I block and mute someone I no longer see their post. However, they can see my post and they can also comment on my post. I don't see it but others have sent me screenshots and I also see others responses to them. Very frustrating! I have emailed this to support but never received more than acknowledgment of my email.
This is a vicious Communist Liberal App.I have great fun outwiting these fools. But only for a very limited time. For I am guaranteed to be snitched out.and reported to the so called Moderator.which is in collusion with the Rat... I've been kicked off too many times to count.but get a kick. Exposing these clowns..
I love the concept of NextDoor. I help found NextDoor DC and have served as moderator for many years. I have received complaints from many Members that ND does not practice due process in managing their complaints. It seems quite arbitrary. One neighbor can complain about an entry and then the account is disabled for a time period with no notification or opportunity to defend. The ND guidelines are illusory such as "be kind to your neighbor." I urge ND to create a fair due process complaint system. Neighbors need to know exactly what phrase or words are bothersome so they can avoid using such in the future. I do realize that ND has a low rating and may not respond to this feedback. Sincerely, Larry Ray, *******@aol.com
Created ad which came back with an error message. No ad created. No ad on dashboard. No receipt for charge. Charged $10 with no explanation. No phone on webpage. No email on webpage. Do not load your payment information.
Me and My son Giovanni both sell for his College fund savings. My name is Michael and my son is Giovanni. We sell on Offer up and EBay and Craigslist and have been for a couple years making an income of $61,000.00 in the past Two years of selling on those sites. With No problems at all. I find Nextdoor app is not as successful of an app and has not created any sales in the past month of using this app. I find this app to be a majority of those who are just here to Lolly Gag with no real business intentions. By far the worst app to do business. More of an inconvenience than a convenience. The perfect app for a psychiatrist to provide their ads to. Thank you for removing my account. It was my intention to do so. I will be providing professional reviews of next-door platform to warn others of negativity and drama. Not a solid professional platform to do business. A low end platform of failing success. With a 2.46 star review. That's lower than any other platform I've been very successful in selling on whom I given 5 star reviews to each. Thank you and Have a Blessed day. Good luck in the future!
If you just want to talk weather, lost pets, invasive weeds. Welcome to ND. No room for humor or critical thinking, which is painfully obvious.
Constant tracking, I am sure my information from my phone and location was compromised, so I consider this app extreemly dangerous with mostly depressing news.
I've heard plenty of complaints about this site. I've used it in the past to stay up to date on neighborhood things, sightings of animals, etc.
Recently, a neighbor posted about writing letters to local supervisors about what's going on in our libraries and the questionable titles available for/to minors.
I not only respond to the post, I start getting responses like, "there's no pornography in our libraries" to "oh stop, there's not a war on children". Of course, I provide proof to back my posts/responses.
Because I believe that there are only 2 sexes and that children shouldn't be exposed to questionable books, I'm called names publicly by a couple women on the post. This one chick starts calling me a racist homophobe and transphobe. Huh?
Of course I complain to ND and ask for the comments to be removed, and they do NOTHING after reviewing it. I then reach out to a LEAD, sharing a screen-shot of the comments and the fact that nothing was done, and that I was angry about it and wasn't going to back down.
An hour or so later, the comment is reviewed again and removed. Then a bunch of my comments/responses are removed.
The next morning, I find that my account is disabled for 5 days.
NextDoor is being run by lefties who don't believe in free speech.
Worst. Site. Ever.
(Unfortunately I don't have the screenshots to upload as I deleted all the crap from my phone. The only proof of these hateful comments is in my conversation sent to the neighborhood Lead. Because my account is disabled, I cannot access them)
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
