Office Depot's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, largely stemming from poor customer service and operational inefficiencies. While some customers appreciate product availability and have encountered helpful staff, the overarching sentiment highlights frustrations with delayed deliveries, ineffective returns processes, and unresponsive customer support. Many reviews point to unresolved issues regarding order accuracy and lack of clarity in policies, leading to feelings of distrust. To improve customer retention, Office Depot should prioritize enhancing staff training, streamlining service processes, and ensuring accountability in their delivery and returns systems.

Ordered several items and waited over a week for them to just cancel the order. DO NOT SHOP HERE! All items were in stock when ordered!
Fail to deliver on online orders placed. Took over a week to figure out they didn't have items in hand at their advertised price. Won't honor posted price…eek.
I will never use any printing service from this company! I placed an online order for a wedding printable and Office Depot canceled my item for no reason whatsoever. They could never give a straight answer to why the order was canceled. I tried to speak with a customer service representative (30 minute call) to resolve the issue with no success. I asked to speak to the manager, but she was "in a meeting". This company is not reputable.
TAKE MY MONEY AND THE ORDER WAS CANCEL IN THE STORE AND THEY WILL NOT REFUND IT IT HAS BEEN 3 DAYS, THEY CAN SURE TAKE IT FAST
They had the product.
They shipped fast.
Arrived damaged. Then the hell starts.
I ordered 9/14/23 came damaged 9/20/23.5 calls 6 days. Everyone fron office depot was nice just not helpful.
Finally today I am told they are refunding my money and keep the damaged board.
I NEEDED A DRY ERASE BOARD. Terrible service!
I bought an Epson printer at the Aurora Avenue store in Seattle, but it was faulty. I took it back and asked for a refund. I was turned down because the credit card I used had subsequently been stolen and I had cancelled the account. A cash refund was not possible, I was told. Terrible customer service. I won't shop here again.
I ordered a printed manual and order to keep the size of the images I submitted. It turned out they were too small. I spent another $100 and got the fit to paper size thinking that the images would be enlarged to fit the paper...that is what the icon shows when you click on it, the IMAGES are enlarged. When I received the second manual, it was exactly the same as the first. Their explanation was the white space on my page is included in that "fit to paper" and "keep size" and "fit to paper" would be the same. Why even have two options then? Why have icons that show the IMAGES would be larger in "fit to paper"?! It is completely deceiving. Now I am out of a $100 for another completely unusable item. Needless to say, office depot/office max will not receive anymore of my business and I will be sure to spread the word about my experience to others.
The had to have some paper work faxed and the employee Dominque went out of his way to help me. Great experience at the Romona location in Jax fl
I am a business owner and wish I could give a negative review. I order posters to be laminated. I go tthe order 2 times and still isn't right. I called the 800 number and got hung up on first time. Second time I got Sean which argued with the whole 20 min call and then hung up on me. Buyers beware! Never Again! Office depot if you see this the call was on 9/10/23 4:38 pm name was Sean. Order number *******-001
I will never ship their online website. I am waiting f now over a week for a refund. If I could give them a zero I would. Office Depot you have lost any further business
I just spent, along with 2 other customers, 57 minutes waiting to be called to make some copies in the office depot in Hunters Creek, Florida. I kept receiving their texts stating there was a minute more to wait. However, when we spoke with the manager, we were told they were not seeing any more walk ins. The manager was very unprofessional and did not want to help us. He was Very rude. They need some communication skills as well as customer service.
Just went to Office Depot with a stapler I purchased within the last month that I was unable to open to put staples in…. The sales clerk was not helpful at all…. He was not able to resolve the problem and did not offer any alternative. Left the store very dissatisfied! Extremely POOR customer service! Amazon or Staples, you are now my go to store.
The store I go to is convenienttly located and easily accessible. They usually have what I need but some of their prices could be better, considering they are a large corporation with the attendant buying power. Overall, they do a good job.
Do not lean on Office Depot for any printing needs. I've tried 6 times to find a store to fulfill my simple order.
Ordered online as well. Failed every time. They are simply not equipped to do business in the service arena! Enjoyed the service while it was good, but moving on.
I asked for a Teacher Discount and I was told it only applies for 2 weeks in August! What? Teachers work and purchase ALL YEAR LONG FOR OUR CLASSES AND STUDENTS! What kind of support is that?! I will not be purchasing from Office Depot and will share with my colleagues NOT to purchase any supplies as well!
Would not give me credit for multipack refurbished OFFICE DEPOT ink cartridges. Only the black cartridge was opened. It would not work in printer because it did not have HP chip in it, so I didn't open the rest of the cartridges in the pack. The manager said I could not get a refund because it was expired and I did not have the receipt. It was an OFFICE DEPOT brand and it did not work because it had no chip, not because it was expired. So it was defective when I bought it. Ridiculous that they won't give store credit for their own defective product. I will not shop at Office Depot or Office Mac or their online sites again.
Stay away charged my card twice two separate transactions for the same item then canceled both orders then made me wait days for a refund leave them alone you have been warned!
I tried to return merchandise with the recipe this evening. I was refused a cash refund and offered a store credit instead. This is simply a forced sale within the store which is unacceptable. I should be able to get my cash refunded with the return of the unopened merchandise.
I was in Office Depot on S. Mopac near Sunset Valley in Austin today when a lady came in. She was waiting her turn, and the woman at the counter, frazzled though she was asked the customer what she wanted. The customer said something about printing photos, and the worker said she had to go to the website? The customer asked a couple of questions, and the worker said she did not have time to deal with her right then. The customer would have to wait her turn. Well, the customer had not interrupted the flow, so what was the snapping at the customer about? I left to go get something at Target next door and returned to get my order. Upon my return the customer was still there, finally her turn, and she was upset because they had had her do all this work on the phone to get the pictures sent to the store. They then told her she had to pay on the phone. The lady lost it. She said with all the work they had just done to get the pictures, now they are telling her she has to pay this way. She had a card in her hand to pay. So the guy who was helping her was being nice, but there comes the same snappy hateful woman worker and that did she do? She started telling her that she should have known this. She gave her a card, and the customer tossed it back across the counter at her. The worker then goes screaming through the store that the woman was throwing things at her. (How old was she? 3?). Now comes some nasty assistant manager who starts yelling at the customer in front of the entire store that she can't through things at the workers and abuse them. What about the worker being verbally abusive to the customers? Finally the male worker told her to send them the way she had in the past and he printed them out for her.
First of all, Office Depot has changed some policies, and she did not know this until she got to the counter. All was not explained to her upfront. How about the manager listening to the customer instead of just assuming the customer was wrong. I was ready to slap the worker. The customer was crying. Congratulations to the guy who helped her.
