The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by consistent complaints regarding product reliability and customer service. Customers frequently express dissatisfaction with the performance of devices, citing issues such as poor video quality and connectivity problems. Additionally, the customer service experience is notably negative, with many reviewers reporting long wait times, unhelpful representatives, and inadequate support for troubleshooting. While some users appreciate the initial functionality of the products, the recurring themes of frustration and disappointment suggest a pressing need for the company to enhance both product quality and customer service responsiveness to improve overall customer satisfaction.

Advised by police to buy 2nd Gen vid doorbell as it doesnt need haed wiring or hard fixing. Checked blurb on ad. Arrived today... requires drilling (not easy on Upvc door frame) Contacted Ring... advised have to purchase a 'no drill' mount plate. Another 17.99... pointed out thats not stated in ad. And even police addvised for that reason... wouldnt budge. Not recommend
My Ring is hardwired but still loses the network (router is barely 40 feet from the front door and this is just wood frame building) on a nearly daily basis. I often go round and round trying to get the doorbell back on line only to get the message "not a valid QR code" when I finally get to the last step. I have had it with this POS and am switching to a Google product.
I have several ring cameras that I installed to monitor my visitation. It was important that I could preserve recordings so I subscribed to Ring Pro that would let you save unlimited videos (which are all very, very short--another problem). But that never worked and I could not save them unless I did so one at a time. So I quickly became disillusioned. I also had problems connecting one of the cameras and with a missing cord, and dealing with their support was like pulling teeth. I actually told them I would pack up and return the cameras and pulled the boxes but tried them one last time and they were able to resolve the issue (the replacement cord took about two weeks to arrive and I live in a very accessible area with lots of Amazon trucks around).
Then, after about a year, when I no longer needed the useless recording saving, I unsubscribed and used the cameras just to check in on the dog or to let me know if anyone entered the house. I set it to Away (armed) but not long after, Ring locked me out of the app and told me that if I wanted to change any settings, I had to subscribe to a plan. Screw that, subscribe for crappy service and support? Nope. So I had to delete the app on my phone and now I will sell the cameras on the aftermarket to the next fool willing to give Bezos more money. I am done.
Customer service hung up on me. After trying to fix a ring doorbell I was disconnected. This was after working through troubleshooting for over 30 minutes. I then had to call back and go through the same troubleshooting again
Theyre telling me all the information online in my account is inaccurate and hasn't been updated and there is a delay till October 1. Seriously a 10-month delay in ordering a product? So even during Covid it wasn't as bad with ANY vendor I ordered from. Absolutely unacceptable that I had to be on the phone for hours, just to determine that my item which I paid for didn't ship even though it still says it will when in reality it is 10 months delayed.
I have been a Ring owner and subscriber for almost 2 years.
I started out with 1 camera and now have 3. The camera's are very durable and work well in all climates.
They are up and running 99.99% of the time…all of the time.
One of my camera's runs on a solar panel and it always holds a charge regardless of sunlight.
Customer support is satisfactory but could use a little improvement do the fact that sometimes it is a little difficult to understand what they are saying on the phone.
Overall a great product.
I had to verify with my drivers license then basically take a front and two side pictures. So basically a mug shot to use my own cameras. All over a changed phone number. Once I did I logged back in set up a camera then I went to change my phone # in the app it logged me out. I called customer service and they wanted me to re verify with my ID again and mugshots. I told them to beat it and threw the cameras in the trash where they belong.
Everytime someone comes to door or if there is motion, it goes into downloading update mode, if I try to answer or see who is at door, I can't all I get is message
Defective doorbell, nightmare getting tech support as well as replacement mailed out!
I used to recommend RING...
Video captured by motion activation is so slow to activate the camera usually misses the action entirely. Likewise, the activation of Live View is so slow that in the 15-20 seconds it takes to come up the action is usually long past. Neither the wired nor battery operated supported by solar chargers works during a Minnesota winter. Does anyone recommend a decent outdoor camera?
Head ring for two years worked great now they have stripped everything out of the app and you must pay a monthly subscription fee to get it back run from ring don't walk
I brought ring battery and solar panel from Ring Website. I paid in US DOLLAR, but they return it to me in CAD DOLLAR!
I phoned ring customer 4 times but I still didnt get return label yet. Every agent said " I will send it to you 24-48 hours" but after 5 days, NOTHING in my mailbox. Ring Team used this way to stop me to return the product.
DON'T BUY RING!
DON'T TRUST THE RING CUSTOMER OR SUPPORT TEAM!
I will never use ring because they give all your private videos to the police without your permission. Nothing but scumbags
From looking around I see a number of people are unhappy about a number of things but they can be traced back to Bad customer service around the free trial.
1. They start your 30-day free trial without specifically telling you the moment you set up one of their cameras.
2. If you happen not to know that and contact them "I'm sorry but if you would like to pay you can decide if you like it".
3. Refurbished units are sold by retailers unmarked as re-refurbished so when you contact you get the same "I'm sorry but if you would like to pay you can decide if you like it".
You would think that with all these guys have they would be able to tell if someone had already used the 30-day or if a unit is refurbished and being set up at a completely different location.
Some companies do more t help their competition than they know. I'm already switching and completing my system with a different company more because of customer service than the actual product itself.
Way to go "RING" I hear a cash register making a sound at someone else's store.
It takes 7 - 10 days for a refund which is asinine in 2023. I called customer service explaining that I expected to pay $3.99 a month as advertised, not $39.99 for the year. I immediately cancelled my subscription as it over drafted my account. After explaining I simply got a sorry and they are waiting out the full 10 days to refund my account.
I rented a house in 2021. Owner purchased a ring unit but did not subscribe to video service where you can look at who came to my door, so I signed up for that service and was charged $3/mo. I moved out in Dec 2021 and cancelled the ring service. My recurring charge stopped in Jan 2022, one extra month wasn't work the hassle to argue about. BUT then my bank account started being charged by ring for monthly $3.99 fee since Dec 2022. I have nothing to do with this house nor that ring unit. My bank charged stopped for 11 months then restarted out of the blue. Contacted ring customer service twice, they can not provide any information since my email address is not connected to any ring device, YET somehow my bank is attached to some ring device somewhere. Both times contacting customer service was a waste of my time. They kept repeating that I need to contact my bank. I did that, bank can stop payments from now going forward. Ring could not answer me as to why my bank was suddenly charged a monthly fee when I have no ring service. Ridiculous! I was thinking of getting a ring for my new house, but this experience has given me serious doubts about ring in general
Because I owned a device more than 10 years ago, I cannot be verified on a new device unless I do it from the old device I had in 2009!
Or I can set aside 30-45 mins to undergo the verification process.
So, back to amazon everything goes. I will be sure not to ever buy anything from Ring again.
If you do, dont EVER change phones!
Ring.com keeps canceling my orders, I tried paying with 2 different international debit cards. The notification I get from the bank app is that they don't provide 3DS check. Another bad thing is that there is no email address you can write to, you can only call international phone numbers in order to contact ring.com support and they are not really helpful. They have a good story behind all these security cameras but I don't think they're a reliable and serious company. I haven't received my money back from my last purchase and I spent hours on the phone with their support trying to understand why they keep canceling my orders, but it seems they don't even know the real reason. They only said "there was a problem with payment". No $#*!.
Received faulty product, insisted problem was with my wifi, wanted me to ring my ISP... Despite the Ring device being the only issue. Expensive subscription for poor CS. Thanks for wasting an hour of my life Reham.
I got 4 Ring Cameras as I was told support was good- how wrong that was! Support has been atrocious worst support I've ever had, just trying to get a new credit card logged in. Have wasted so much time with support person who didn't have a clue then told me I couldn't add in a new credit card lol how bad is that? Not a clue! If you're thinking of Ring cameras move on to next product to get better after purchase support
Answer: Most annoying product ever. Doesn't work but almost does. This makes you constantly fool with it thinking you maybe possibly actually got it to do something similar to what they advertise. But in the end you will be back to square one with a pricey piece of crap! Then after hrs of listening to customer services b. S. you realize you've been had. But it doesn't end there. You end up on sites like this trying to help others from making the same mistake. And trying to figure out when this hell will end!
Answer: It does not work the way it is presented on T. V. The inability to immediately respond "LIVE" to an event renders it useless.
